_____________________________________________________________________ POSITION OVERVIEW:Reporting to the CEO, the purpose of this position is to develop a high quality consumer marketing department to support HengAn’s overall mission to become China’s l eading supplier of women’s and children’s hygiene products.The Director of Marketing is the chief marketing executive of the Company who surveys the market and develops and maintains the strongest brands in the industry. He or she works in close cooperation with all departments of the company to ensure that quality products are delivered to consumers in a timely, profitable fashion.ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:∙Build an outstanding marketing department, and help to develop a consumer driven culture throughout HengAn.∙Design and implement marketing processes throughout HengAn that will support a consumer driven approach.∙Develop an outstanding understanding of consumer needs and capitalize on that sensitivity in brands, products, and marketing support programs.∙Develop innovative and efficient marketing programs that will build HengAn's brands into category leaders.∙Lead the development of new brands, new products, and line extensions.∙Assess the opportunities for HengAn’s participatio n in new categories of products and lead those efforts.∙Achieve financial objectives by assisting in the preparation of annual sales forecasts and budget; scheduling marketing expenditures; analyzing variances; initiating correctiveactions.∙Develop process and provide short and long term market forecasts and reports by directing market research collection, analysis and interpretation of marketing data.∙Monitor competitive activity for risks and opportunities to the HengAn brands∙Direct the activities of outside advertising agencies, market research firms, and package design.∙Oversee the development of packaging, point of purchase, advertising, promotions, and all other forms of consumer communication to ensure consistency with brand positioning.SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITIES:∙Completes marketing department operational requirements by scheduling and assigning employees; following up on work results.∙Working closely with Human Resources to recruit, select, orientate, and train employees.∙Maintains marketing staff job results by counseling and disciplining employees; planning, monitoring, and appraising job results.∙Develops marketing staff by providing information, training opportunities, and experimental growth opportunities.KEY COMPETENCIES:The key competencies of an effective Director of Marketing are:∙ADAPTABILITY – maintains effectiveness in and with changing surroundings, responsibilities, and people.∙COMMUNICATIONS – ability to communicate clearly, concisely and understandably with different audiences using effective oral, written and presentation formats.∙CONSUMER ORIENTATION –makes sure that consumers’ requirements are met in a manner that benefits the consumer and HengAn International.∙INITIATIVE – takes responsibility for and encourages action to achieve change.∙LEADERSHIP – takes responsibility for achieving goals, gives direction, provides structure, and gives responsibility to others for goal achievement.∙MAXIMIZES BUSINESS PERFORMANCE – establishes performance criteria and maximizes effectiveness by taking actions to ensure achievement of results.∙TCT – drives the use of TCT Methodology, Measurements and Tools in the operation of HengAn’s marketing process to improve performance and results.∙TEAMWORK – works sensitively and cooperatively with team members, customers, and other external and internal organizations.REQUIRED ATTRIBUTES:∙Prior experience in set up of a marketing department in a consumer goods manufacturing business.∙Demonstrated ability to lead the development of a successful brand.∙Demonstrates high degree of credibility at the Corporate level, as supported by: ∙Executive level, pre-HengAn career of 8 years or more, with significant career accomplishments. Marketing focused assignments is preferred. Alternatively: ahighly intelligent, high achieving individual with 8+ years relevant industryexperience and with specialized, current, and novel knowledge of a highly relevantsubject/dilemma.∙Strong understanding of marketing methodologies; personal involvement in marketing projects with meaningful personal accomplishments.∙Portrays a positive, can-do, winning personality and attitude.∙Ability to create confidence, to communicate clearly, goal and team oriented self-starter.∙Leadership to effectuate change, provides structure, give direction and delegation of responsibility, and achieve goals.∙Exceptional marketing skills, demonstrating intelligence, common sense judgment, strategic thinking, analysis and risk management.∙ A passion for winning and getting results.EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE∙College degree or higher, business major, preferably marketing.∙Over 8 years of senior level marketing experience, preferably in consumer markets in China or Taiwan or Asia.∙Fluency in Pitonhua and preferably English.∙Availability for travel is required.QUALIFICATION REQUIREMENTS:To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily.
