新概念第二册Lesson 47 A thirsty ghost一、单词精讲thirsty ['θə:sti] a.
He is thirsty for power.(他贪图权力。
ghost [gəust] n.
I heard a ghost last night.(我昨晚听到了鬼魂的声音。
A strange spirit haunts this cemetery.(一个奇怪的幽灵在这个公墓出没。
Guilt has haunted him for years.(内疚感多年来一直萦绕着他。
)或者The past always haunts her mind.(过去总是萦绕在她的心头。
