此事在最后的期末考试中爆发，被韦斯利双胞胎兄弟玩了一场闹剧，大家额手相庆，大快人心。
其次，是哈利开始组建凤凰社的学生成员，称为Dumbledore’s Army. 为今后加入凤凰社做准备，并且练习实战技能。
最后，地点选在魔法部，凤凰社与食死徒之间展开一次正面交锋。
在这次交战中，小天狼星被Bellatrix杀死。
魔法部的人不得不承认伏地魔确实复活了。
另外就是哈利的初恋，选择了秋张，不过很快就被剧情的迅速发展而抛弃了。
因为哈利和秋张并不合适。
小天狼星也告诫了哈利：The world isn’t split into good people and death eaters. We’ve all got both light and dark inside of us. What matters is the part we choose to act on. That’s who we really are.哈利波特6混血王子（何为魂器）马上就要大战了，所以第六部要铺垫还是很多的，主要的剧情线索是魂器（Horcrux）。
关于魂器，只有伏地魔当年学生时代的时候一名老师知道，邓布利多邀请那名老师来到了霍格沃兹，并且让哈利跟着他学习。
学习过程中，哈利幸运地得到了混血王子的一本书，里面全是干货，哈利因为那本书得到了幸运水的奖励，从此如饥似渴地手不释卷，并且学会了混血王子的拿手绝招——神锋无影。
在哈利他们忙着谈恋爱的时候，小马尔福（Draco）以为自己是被伏地魔选中的人，努力为他干活。
在第六部中，哈利他们三人的恋爱关系确定了下来。
最后哈利利用自己开学时得到的幸运水，成功地从老师那里得到了魂器的信息。
伏地魔有7个魂器来保存自己的生命。
其中出现在第二部里的笔记本就是一个，不过已经被毁了。
还有一个戒指，被邓布利多用葛莱芬多之剑毁掉了。
剩下5个。
所以邓布利多带着哈利出去寻找。
非常艰难地找回一个来，但是假的。
小马尔福成功地把Death Eater引入学校，并且围攻邓布利多，斯内普及时出现，并且按照计划杀死了邓布利多。
使得伏地魔和哈利波特双方的力量严重不均衡，哈利面临困难重重。
不过邓布利多给哈利却留下了十分宝贵的并且能够战胜伏地魔的财富，那就是爱和友谊。
哈利波特7死亡圣器（大战）知道了魂器之后，哈利的目标就很明确了，就是寻找魂器。
哈利他们三人踏上寻找魂器之路的同时，伏地魔也在拼命寻找老魔杖并且在邓布利多的墓里找到了。
首先寻找真的魂器挂坠盒（locket），三人勇闯魔法部，抢走locket然后开始继续寻找其他魂器。
期间三人受到魂器的搅扰，罗恩出走。
斯内普暗中找把剑给哈利送去，此时罗恩回来，用剑击毁了魂器locket。
接着三人去了卢娜父亲的家，得知了死亡圣器的事，三圣器分别是战无不胜的老魔杖、复活石和隐形斗篷。
结果他们三人被出卖，被食死徒抓回马尔福庄园。
在庄园的战斗中，哈利缴了小马尔福的武器，之前小马尔福曾缴了邓布利多的老魔杖，所以老魔杖的主人成为了哈利。
拥有三圣器的人，能做死神的主人，即哈利拥有三件死亡圣器，在与伏地魔对抗中稍稍占了一些优势。
The Elder Wand, The Resurrection Stone and The Cloak of Invisibility. Together they make the Deathly Hallows. Together they make one master of death.小精灵多比把他们从马尔福庄园救了出来，但是付出了自己的生命。
多比死的时候说：Such a beautiful place to be with friends. Dobby is happy to be with his friend Harry Potter.逃出之后，利用Bellatrix的头发混进古灵阁她的仓库，又找到一个魂器cup。
接着通过邓布利多的弟弟帮助，哈利回到学校。
继续寻找魂器。
并找到金冕（diadem）。
罗恩和赫敏用蛇牙毁掉cup，然后三人又毁掉diadem.接着交代斯内普一案。
哈利得知自己是第七个魂器。
主动去找伏地魔，伏地魔怒下杀手，亲手杀死了哈利体内的自己灵魂的一部分。
（我觉得哈利没有被杀死，是因为哈利成长过程中得到的爱和友谊使他的灵魂强大到足以抵抗伏地魔的灵魂，而伏地魔所杀死的不过是哈利体内那个已经弱小不堪一击的伏地魔的灵魂，而哈利却没有死。
）以为得胜的伏地魔带着部队回到残破的学校叫嚣，没想到哈利有一帮至死不渝的朋友从未放弃和妥协过，要战斗到底。
看到希望的哈利则带着他们继续与伏地魔战斗。
只剩下最后一个魂器是伏地魔的蛇。
在哈利与伏地魔单挑的时候，蛇被纳威用葛莱芬多之剑斩了。
虚弱不堪的伏地魔便灰飞烟灭了。
当然也可以这么说，就是所有的优势都集中在哈利身上，哈利拥有三件死亡圣器，所以他可以轻松打败伏地魔。
不过这个不能算作是哈利胜利的主要因素。
哈利主要的武器还是爱和友谊还有自己的优秀品质比如勇敢果断等。
