Unit 3 What are you doing for vacation?
( The 1st period Section A 1a-1c, 2c, Section B 1a,
1b, 4 )
Teaching aims (教学目标)
1)学会学习谈论将来的计划。
2)学习用现在进行时表示将来时。
3)能积极思维,运用所学单词,短语及句型,结合实际生活进行灵活运用。
4) 让学生熟悉和理解不同的生活和度假方式。
Language points ( 语言点 )
1.要求掌握以下句式 :
What are you doing for vacation?
I’m visiting my grandmother.
What’s she doing for vacation?
She’s going camping.
What are they doing for vacation?
They’re relaxing at home.
2.要求掌握以下词汇:
babysit, camp, bike, ride, sightseeing, fish, rent.

掌握怎样谈论将来的计划的方法和提高学生说的能力
Teaching steps
Step1. Warming-up and revision
1. Daily greetings to the students
2. Free talk.
What are we doing now?
What do you usually do on weekdays /weekends?
(Present take a short/long vacation)
What did you do last weekend?
3. Brain storm
Collect the names of activities which said by students.
Step 2.Presentation
教学建议和说明
以竞赛的形式复习所学动词词组,巩固落实所学知识;同时以旧带新,导入新课的教学。
通过卡通歌曲引入新课教--
-- 1. Watch a video: Let’s travel.
2. T: Do you like the song?
Do you listen to music at home on weekends?
What are you doing next weekends?
S: I’m visiting my teacher/going shopping.
T:What are you doing for vacation?
S: I’m babysitting my sister.
Talk about : What is she/ he doing for vacation?
What are they doing for vacation?
Teach camping, babysitting, relaxing at home, spending time with friends, exercising, go bike riding/sightseeing/fishing, take walks, rent videos
Step 3.Work on Section B 1a
1. Match the words with the pictures.
2. Write the number of each picture next to the correct activities
Step4. Work on Section A 1a
Look at the vacation activities in the picture, make a
list and add a few more.
Step5. Work on Section A 1b
1. Listen to the conversations and number the pictures 1-3.
T: We will listen twice.The first time, just listen.The second time,listen and fill in the blanks.

1. T: What are you doing for vacation?
S1: I am going hiking.
T: What is he doing for vacation?
S2: He is going hiking. 学,由图片呈现新句型。现在进行时的形式在上学期已经学习,所以学生在表达上并不会吃力。
在听音练习中,第一遍让学生静听,对内容有一个大致印象,第二遍再动笔答题。
利用图片,通过集体操练、连锁操练等各种形式,让学生能有更多的机会开口,熟练掌握新句型。同时进一步巩固本课的词汇及句型。

Step8. Grammar Focus
1. Go through Grammar Focus with the students. Explain
any difficult point. Encourage students raise questions.
2. Grammar conclusion
现在进行时态和将来时间连用表示打算,计划要做的事情。
(现在进行时不仅表示现在,还可以表示将来,现在进行此表示将来时常有“意图”,“安排”<但不是固定不变的>或 “打算”的含义,这种现在进行时比较生动,给人一种期待感,它常表最近或较近的将来,所用的动词多是转移动词。)
句子结构:
主语(S)be+V+ing谓语(V)+宾语(O)+状语(表示将来的时间).
eg: I am babysitting my sister this weekend.
Have a try: 他的父亲打算下周拜访他的老朋友。
Homework:
1. Copy the new words
2. Make new conversations
e.g. What are you doing / is she for vacation/
on Sunday/next summer holiday/next weekend?
Who are you / is she going with?
3. Make a survey about what your classmates’ weekend plans and write a report
小组活动,通过survey,运用what/who问句来巩固所学句型。
现在进行时的两种用法,可用中文配合例句解释,同时用时间表来说明不同的时间的表达方式,学生较容易掌握。
