三、Text

Last Friday an earthquake hit two villages and destroyed fourteen houses. One person was killed,

nine were badly injured, and over two hundred villagers became homeless. A farmer said the

earthquake began early in the morning and lasted for over one minute. He was in the kitchen with his

family when they heard a loud noise. A few minutes later, some parts of their house were falling

4 down. When they climbed out, he found that one of his children was missing. He went back inside

and found the

missing child who was safe but terrified. A woman said that her husband had just left for work when

their house started shaking. She rushed out with her children, but they had no time to take anything.

A few minutes later the house fell down. After the earthquake many soldiers went to the villages to

help.

四、Text

It’s important for students to stay safe at school. Here are some rules that can help them. First,

they shouldn’t crowd when they go upstairs or downstairs. They may hurt themselves or others by

falling off steps. Second, they shouldn’t go out of school alone on school nights. That would be

dangerous. Third, they should take good care of their school things and money. Fourth, they should

get along well with others. Being in the same school or the same class, they study and live together,

so helping each other is very important. If they keep these rules in their mind, they’ll be safe.
