本课属于课标功能意念表“社会交往(Social communications)”中建议(Suggestions)项目,主要学习情态动词must及其否定形式mustn’t表示必要性的用法。
主要教学活动为1a和3a。
第二话题谈论了影响健康的好习惯和坏习惯,引出了本课的语法重点:情态动词must +动词原形,表示建议、劝告。
同时引出了动名词做主语的常用句式:Staying up late is bad for your health. 通过学习Section A,让学生能够辨别好习惯与坏习惯,从而帮助他们养成好习惯,戒掉坏习惯。

二、设计说明:根据学情和本课的语法及话题,本节课的教学设计将听与说相结合,通过pair work巩固句型学习;以两组听力材料为载体,通过听说练习内化知识;在语言生成阶段,循序渐进,通过同伴合作完成学习任务。
本课在重、难点突破的方法上有所创新,教师通过导入对话,引导学生学习本课重点句型,接着通过课本对话学习和辨别好习惯与坏习惯,巩固所学。
