Unit 9 What does he look like?Period One Section A (1a-1c)街头中学范婉如一、学习目标:1.知识目标:1) 学会本课关于人物外貌描写的生词:hair, curly,straight, height, tall, medium, thin,heavy,build ,了解生词的汉语意思,并能正确读出其英语发音。
2) 能够通过课堂活动任务理解和掌握以下句型:-- What does he/she look like? --He / She is tall . He / She has short hair.--What do you look like? --I’m thin.--Is he short or tall ? -- Well, he’s really tall.2. 技能目标:1) 能够通过教师的导入,明确新句型新词汇的使用及含义,能在对话中正确使用所给信息。
2) 能根据教师活动的设计,学会如何描述人物外貌,并结合实际生活灵活运用。
3. 情感目标:通过学习和练习,了解关注身边的人,学会友好地描述别人的形象,培养学生尊重他人的品德,不以貌取人。
重点:掌握本课新单词、句型和怎样描述一个人的外貌。

】一、教材内容与分析本部分呈现了在地铁站接朋友的场景, 自然地引入了询问和简单描述人物外貌的典型句型和重点词汇, 然后通过听力活动的输入和针对性的对话训练, 导入整个单元的话题, 让学生学会如何用简单的句型和词汇描述人物的外貌, 是一节典型的听说课。
二、教学目标1.语言知识目标:正确描述人物的外貌, 掌握描述外貌的形容词: short, tall, thin, heavy, long, curly, straight.句型:What do you look like?I’m...,and I have...What does he/she look like?He/She is...,and he/she has...2.语言技能目标:能够利用所学词汇及句型描述同学、朋友的外貌特征。
3.情感态度目标:让学生学会友好客观地描述人物的外貌。

三、教学过程Ⅰ. Warming-up and revision找出三名外貌差异较大的学生来做比较,一个胖而高大的男生(a fat and tall boy),一个瘦而较矮的男生(a thin and short boy),一个中等身材(of medium height)。
目的:引起学生的学习兴趣,了解人物的外貌特征,(即不管外貌如何在不同的游戏中都能获胜)的对比培养学生的情感和态度:不要以貌取人(Don’t judge by appearance)。
