The differences of family education concept between Amercian and ChinaStudent:In this summer vacation, I watched the American animation “The Simpsons”and Chinese moive “Sunflower”.After watching them, I doped out some differenecs of family education concept between American and China .Through The Simpsons Movie we can see the family educational concept of American. In the first scene, the harmonious relationship between father and son, Homer and Bart, impresses me most. They look like friends rather than father and son. They do and share the housework together, enjoying the happy time.The American parents emphasis on the freedom development of their children. When the children in a jam , they always give them advices instead of doing everything for them.What differs from Chinese parents do most is American parents will lead their children pay attention to how to protect their civil rights and environment. Russ Cargill, the evil head of the Environmental Protection Agency, intends to destroySpringfield after Homer pollutes the lake. Homer, the father works to redeem his folly by stopping Cargill's scheme. In my mind, he sets a good example to his children.Most of the American children are guided by their parents. However , it will never happen in American family.Most the Chinese parents always choose the life they like for their child instead of the children by their own. They always in the fear that their child can’t compete with o thers and won’t success in the future. The parents consider too much for their children. These kinds of considerations sometimes hinder the children’s future because they can’t do what they really interst in and what they keen on.In a word, the vast majority of Chinese partens only knows how to love their children , but doesn’t how to educate them. Compared with the differences of family education concept between American and China, I can understand the reason why the American has lots of Nobel Laureates ,but China has not one. Parents are the first and best teachers for the children and what they teach and do for their children will play an important part in their future. And the children’s develpoment concerns the country’s future.In my opinion, the education is a defintive element for a country development. Different ways of family education in China and the USA Abstract: In a lifetime, family is the first school, in which parents are the first teachers for thechildren. Children are the hopes of a nation, and family education is the elementary education for children. There are many types of family education in the world and each of them shows distinctive features and is closely responsive to its culture. And American family education is the most famous one among them1. There are great differences in the concepts of education, aim of education, methods of education and contents of education between American family education and Chinese family education. This thesis will complete the comparative study from the differences, the reasons and the results of family education between America and China. They pay attention to children‟s instinct and natural development. American parents do not think that play and study conflict witheach other.2.The aspect of social lifeChina: In China, parents have authority and dominance in family. Parents encourage children to work and earn money. According to statistics, about 54% American children can‟t get pin money from parents. American children were encouraged to interact with real life experiences. American parents give children enough opportunity to contract with society which allows them to be fully trained in various matters since they were young. They think part- time job or something like that can gain their children‟s experience and capability to adjust society.In America, children are more independent and confident. Chinese emphasis the team spirit and comprehensive abilities of a child, they attach more attention to the behavior of normalization and self-condition, they against the independent consciousness, the parents tell their children that they should take part in the group to adapt the society. In America culture, they emphasis people foremost and attach weight to individual potential and creativity. Chinese pay more attention to general character while Americans attach attention to personality.Different Ways of ThinkingAmericans encourage rationalism while Chinese encourage affection. America education praise rationalism highly. Most of American parents consider the responsibility of raising a child the same as the responsibility to the society. They stand not only in an individual position but the social position. Chinese parents consider the children as their own private property.
