Describe a person that has made a contribution to the society. You should say:Who this person isHow do you know about this personWhat contribution he/she madeAnd explain how you felt about this person. I’m sure I’m not the first person to say that teaching is a very important job in s ociety, but I’d like to talk about someone who I saw on TV, who works in very underprivileged areas in America. The programme I saw told the story of a young American teacher, whose name escapes me right now. He had recently graduated and was sent to teach in a very poor area in Brooklyn. He primarily taught the students science, but was also called upon to help break up fights or talk to the students when they had problems. As a teacher, the man obviously had to be knowledgeable, organised and dedicated. But due to the testing conditions he also had to be particularly patient and disciplined, whilst maintaining a good rapport with the students. In the beginning this was very hard as they didn’t respect or trust him, but eventually he earned their trust and managed to get through to them.I think teaching is important to society no matter where you are based, but teaching in such a difficult environment is even more admirable and important as the students are in even greater need. For a lot of them, education is the only way to drag them-selves out of poverty and escape a life of crime or hardship. Even if they are not always successful and may feel like they are banging their head against a brick wall sometimes, it is important for these teachers to continue trying. I really admired a senior student, Lin, who is keen on helping students from rural and impoverished areas. I met her in a university club which aims to help the vulnerable group. She told me that she became a volunteer teacher since she entered this club. And almost every summer holidays, she went to those undeveloped villages in Fujian Province to each local primary school students. Moreover, Lin often oragnised some fancy fairs to raise money for poor children to buy stationeries and study materials, such as bags or pencil boxes. What surprised me the most was that she gave up some decent offers from International companies but insisted on supporting education in rural areas. As the only child in the family, many youngsters tend to be self-centered and seldom concern about others, but not did she. When I asked her why she could sacrifice so much for those children she didn’t even know, she said she wanted to make a difference for those poor children who deserve better education. Even though she was only an ordinary person, but what she did made her a respectable person that make a contribution to the societypart3问题参考:How to be a good member in the society? What kinds of jobs are well-paid in your country? How do university students make their career plans in your country? What kinds of jobs deserve higher salaries in the future?Does university education help students to find a good job in your country?Do people like to talk about their salaries with their friends in your country? Describe a person who was helpful to your work or study. You should say:Who it was; What this person did;How this person helped;and explain how you felt after this person helped you.
Describe a person you admire.Well, I'm gonna talk about my grandpa. He is really an amazing personin my eyes.My grandpa is in his seventies now, but he doesn't look his age at all. He has this head full of silvery white hair which makes him look super cool, like some kind of wise old wizard from a fairy tale. His face is always tanned because he loves spending time outdoors. One of the things I admire most about him is his incredible work ethic. You know, he used to be a farmer. And when he worked on the farm, he waslike a non stop working machine. He would get up before the sun rose, and then he'd be out in the fields, plowing, sowing seeds, taking care of the crops. He never complained about how hard the work was, even during the hottest summers or the coldest winters. He always said that the land waslike his best friend, and he had to take good care of it.Grandpa is also a very kind hearted person. In our village, if anyone had a problem, they would come to him for advice. He would always be readyto help out. There was this one time when a neighbor's house got damaged in a storm. Grandpa immediately went over there with his tools and started to fix things up. He didn't ask for anything in return, just said that we should all look out for each other. What's more, he is really good at telling stories. When I was a kid, every night before I went to sleep, I would beg him to tell me a story. And he could tell all kinds of stories, from ancient Chinese legends to his own adventures when he was young. His stories were like magic, taking me to different worlds and teaching me a lot about life. So, that's my grandpa, a hard working, kind hearted and story telling superstar. I really hope that I can be as cool as him when I grow old.。

OK, I’m gonna talk about the South Africa president- Zuma. There was a time I saw a video of him speaking in public, you know how English is not his first language, but the thing is, he has always wanted to try to speak it. It literally took him half a minute to say the word s ‘in the beginning’. He tried so many times and still couldn’t pronounce it. The best part is that every time he failed saying it, he would wiggle his body to defuse the embarrassment. Every single time I saw this video, I would laugh till my belly hurt.Generally speaking, we would expect the leader of a country to be more serious, you know, at least practice the speech or have a translator with you for the important occasions like that. But the way he behaves, is just very endearing. It's absolutely more fascinating than those who follow the conventional way of delivering a speech. 扭动3. defuse the embarrassment 化解尴尬4. laughed till my belly hurt 笑到肚子疼5. fascinate v.
Some of the books which once owned and used by my grandfather are still kept with care in our house. My grandfather was a doctor and he kept his medical books and reference books with him. When he died, I was a 5 years old kid and can hardly remember things about him. But I heard that he was a great person and a first-class(一流的) doctor. Everyone in our locality revered (尊敬)him and respected him very much. After his death, my father took one of his used tables, an arm chair, and a big portrait(肖像) of my grand grand-father and some of my grandfather’s books as the remembrance of his m emory. Among those things my grandfather’s medical books survived and are still reserved in our book-shelf.These books would be more than 70-80 years old and we have those books in our shelf for the last 20 years. The caretakers sometimes bring out those books and clean those and finally put them in the shelf again. I once opened some of the books when I was a school boy and found almost everything very obscure(难以理解). Basically they are medical related terms and that's why seemed jargon to me.My family has kept these books as the souvenir of my grandfather's memory. My father was very beloved by my grandfather and I am sure he esteemed(尊敬) my grandfather very much. These books are the only tangible(有形的) belongings my father has which were used by my grandfather and conveysmy grandfather's reminiscences(回忆). Though these books do not have their material values but they are priceless(无价的) to our family and remind us the precious memory of our grandfather.
I’d like to talk about Yuan Longping, a Chinese agriculture scientist and educator who developed the first hybrid rice varieties about 40 years ago, so the Chinese media sometimes calls him the Father of Hybrid Rice.As far as I know, he was born in an era of wars, so he moved with his family and attended school in many places during his childhood. He first came up with the idea of developing the hybrid rice when a series of natural disasters struck China, which caused unprecedented deaths. After years of research, his team successfully cultivated a type of hybrid rice species that had great advantages over common ones. Due to his hard work and devotion, China’s total rice output rose dramatically, which solved the biggest problem in China back then. And this hybrid rice has been grown in dozens of countries in Africa, America and Asia, which saved millions of people who suffer from famine. And right now he’s working on the research and development of genetically modified food, hoping to benefit more people. So as you can see, without him, China wouldn’t be able to feed its people in the poverty-stricken areas. When natural disaster strikes, people no longer have to starve, feeling desperate. That’s why I think his job is really important to our society. I’d like to talk about Hayao Miyazaki, who’s a world-renowned Japanese film director, producer, screenwriter and animator. He’s a masterful storyteller and he has attained international acclaim as a manga artist. One of his animated films Spirited Away became the first anime film to win an American Academy Award. His films often have profound themes, like humanity’s relationship with nature and technology.I think his job is really important to the society because his films inspired people in different generations. He created a magic world for both adults and children, in which people believe in love, compassion and friendliness. I strongly believe that this has a positive effect on his audience’s attitude toward life, especially for children during their formative years. The main characters in his films are always strong, independent girls, many of whom have been regarded as role models.Miyazaki has become a household name and his movies are well liked around the world. So I think the positive energy from his work can have a long-lasting effect on the society. Describe a popular personYou should say:Who the person isWhat kind of person he or she isWhy you think this person is popularHow this person influences the publicDescribe afamous person in your country.who this person ishow you know this personwhat this person is famous forand explain why you like this person今天,小编将为大家展示一个famous到一定程度的人物,Steve Jobs(乔布斯), 以此介绍一下整道题的思路以及常用表达:Steve JobsWho this person is怎么开始part 2的描述? Now I want to describe...to you. When it comes to a famous person I take interest in, the first person that comes to me is...或者I would say Steve Jobs is my idol/icon(崇拜的人)。

She has an attractive face and looks younger than her age. She has round face, big eyes, and beautiful eyelashes. She likes wearing casual clothes unless she’s at work when she normally wears lady’s formal wear.My mother works as an accountant in a trade company. She studied accounting at Fudan University and she has always been working as an account since graduation. She’s warm-hearted, open-minded, and always willing to help other people who are in need of help. Although she’s not a young lady anymore, she’s very willing and ready to accept new things. She likes singing, dancing, watching movies, reading, planting flowers at home. She is also a big sports fan, I mean, she likes playing badminton, jogging, cycling. I guess that’s the reason why she is still in very good shape at 55 years old.I think what makes me love my mother the most is that she is so dedicated to the family, that is, she loves myfather and me so much. No matter how tired she is after working for a long day, or how many frustrations she has faced herself at work, when she comes back home from her office, she becomes very happy straightaway when seeing my father and me. I guess she has given me so many supports in so many ways…for example, telling me not to give up when I failed to get into university, encouraging me to be a strong person when I didn’t do well in my job interviews, etc. With her blessing, I learnt my way to grow up and finally reach where I am today.I think she’s the most important person in my life. I am very proud of my mother and I love her. I feel so lucky tosuch a great mother.I wish I could say there was one person that I admire the most, but truth us there are more than one. One person that comes to mind the most beleive it or not is Angelina Jolie. A celebirty is a funny one to admire... But what i admire of her is the dedication that she has to the causes that are true to her. Now that can mean anything and some people might say that she is just another celebirty in search of recognition. But what I see is someone that has used her celebrity for the betterment of others in ways that are more than superficial. Unlike Madonna and others she has worked hard and has spent days at a time if not weeks in places like a fganistan and Leone for her cause. She has given without condition and as a result of it has given a home to children that otherwise would not have another chance. So I admire her as a true humanitarian. If fame follows her it is truely because we cannot get enough of her and not because she invites it.But the one person that I admire the most my grandmother. She was a great woman and one that held on in times of turmoil, she taught me to be strong and if I have to cry go ahead. But to keep focused and when I was done feeling sorry for myself get to work on fixing the problem and not dwelling on it. She taught me that no one said life was fair so quit acting like some one said it was and then took it away. Be a woman, and being a woman is expecting respect as well as demanding it.Funny thing, she always said a man's world is always easier than a womans. So if all you have to do is get through a mans world you are home free!!Describe an Art Works.1.I love the works of Eva Hesse and Cindy Sherman, for different reasons, obviously. Eva Hesse's visceralfiber and sculptural installations fascinate me. And Cindy Sherman's cultural and psychological explorations into identity titillate me and engage my higher brain functioning at the same time. I love the paradox.2.I saw Wolfgang Laib's exhibit at the Smithsonian several years ago, and the serene beauty of his pollen, beeswax, and milk sculptures, and the science behind them, opened me up to a new kind of understanding of conceptual art -- that it can be beautiful and still have meaning, and reflect and be based in nature, all at the same time. It was extremely significant to me, to see that art can be all of these things.3.When I was younger, I was introduced to the work of San Diego artist Christopher Reilly. I still have hisearly work on my walls, and I am still in love with it and being inspired by it. Also, Santjes Oomen was an artist whose work -- while I never acquired any -- lingers in my mind, and I recognize how it has influenced me.4.And, finally, I have to say the work of Philip Seymour Hoffman has inspired me tremendously. He is morethan an actor; he is an artist, and if you pay attention to the subtleties of his work, his delving into the psychology of the characters he plays -- it's really amazing. There is something about his work that moved me to get up off of the couch and start making stuff again.Describe a Park(Place). The park I want to describe is Yan’an Park. It’s very close to my home, just behind the Sheraton Hotel. One can either enter the park through the main gate on Yan’an Road, or from the east gate on Yili Road. The park is really beautiful. It’s got quite a few different areas and it is very peaceful. There are pathways all around the park and a lot of grass and trees. There are two ponds in the park – a small one where you can go fishing in the summer time, and a very large pond where you can go skating in the winter time. Near the large pond is a picnic area where you can sit down and relax. It’s nice and shady because there are many tall trees nearby. There’s also a play area for small children with games and rides, a restaurant and a snack bar, and an indoor swimming pool.I first found the park a few years ago after a friend told me about it. I went to see it myself, but it took me a long time to find it because the entrances were quite small. When I entered it, I was amazed at how large and pretty it was. To me, it seemed like a hidden oasis in the busy city.My first visit to Yan’an Park made me want to return again and again. I love going to this park because it makes me feel relaxed and happy. It’s such a nice feeling just to walk along the shady paths under big oak trees or just sit down by the bond watching the fished swimming. Also I like to watch the children playing in the children’s areas, because they are so cute and often remind me of my younger days. It’s a nice break from the busy city life, a get-away experience from the fast pace of life. What do you consider as good "Internet skills"?In my opinion every child should be trained to type since most of the communication online is done in writing. The Internet is an excellent resource to find an answer to almost any question. But in order to express your question properly you need to be able to type fast and correctly.Another basic skill is using a search engine. As of now Google is by far the best choice so being able to "google" is a vital skill nowadays. Proper googling requires a number of things. Depending on the nature of your question you might need to brainstorm appropriate keywords in order to find the answer. That's why you should use the Google toolbar which sometime makes suggestions as to the keywords you can enter. It also keeps track of the keywords you entered previously so you don't have to put them when you are repeating your query. If you want to know how popular a certain phrase is you have to put that very phrase into quotation marks. So, what skills do you think are important when it comes to using the Internet?Well, you just mentioned the most vital - fast typing. Being able to get somewhere as fast as possible is crucial, and typing speed is essential. The reason I second your opinion about speed is because I can confirm it - I won such a contest two or three years ago, and, I must say, it does give me quite an edge over most people. Certainly, there are other factors which also very important - such as, as you named it, brainstorming, also knowing the language flawlessly can bring better results. The ability to work with basic programs could significantly ease one's navigation, too. Knowing the Internet slang, which is not a small a part of this type of communication, could be very useful as well.My most important Internet skill was learned before personal computers were invented. When I was a kid, my parents thought typing was a necessary survival skill in modern society, so they made me take typing class in high school, where we learned to use typewriters. My friends who thought "secretaries do the typing everywhere" never learned to type, and their efficiency on the computer is hampered because of that. One important Internet skill is to have a real understanding that computers don't know anything and can't think. Understanding this makes it easier for a person to figure out how the computer is retrieving information, so you can use not only search engines, but other tools better. You'd be amazed at how many people think computers know things and can think.。
