Unit 1 How tall are you第一课时教学设计

教学目标

1.能听、说、读、写单词:younger, older, taller, shorter, longer。

2.能听、说、认读句子:How tall are you? I’m metres. I'm taller. You're older

than me, too.并能在实际情境中正确运用。

3.会唱歌曲《My small cat》。

教学重点

学习单词:younger, older, taller, shorter, longer;掌握句子:How tall are you? I'm

metres. I'm taller. You're older than me, too.

教学重点

正确使用句子“…is…than…”进行各种比较。

1.单词卡片。

2.教学挂图和配套VC,D。

3.录音机和磁带。

教学过程

一、热身(Warm-up)

1.师生对话

T: Glad to see you again. How are you?

Ss: I'm fine. Thank you.

T: Welcome back to school. Did you have a good time in the winter vacation?

Ss: Yes, I did.

2.教师利用多媒体课件出示chant,师生一起边做动作,边说chant:

Tall, tall, tall Make yourself tall.

Big, big, big! Make your eyes big.

Long, long, long! Make your arms long.

Short, short, short! Make yourself short.

Small, small, small! Make your eyes small. Short, short, short! Make your arms short.

二、复习(Revision)

1.活动:唱反调

活动方式:教师说一个形容词,学生马上说出它的反义词,比一比谁说得快而准。

T: Long.

Ss: Short.

T: Tall.

Ss: Short.

T: Small.

Ss: Big.

T: Young.

Ss: Old.

2.活动:我说你猜

活动方式:教师先示范描述班上的一位同学,全班一起来猜猜他(她)是谁?然后请一些学生来描述,其他学生来猜。

T: She’s tall. She's not strong. She has big eyes and short hair. She has a blue

dress. Who’s she?

Sl: She's…

T: Yes, you're so clever.

三、新课呈现(Presentation)

1.教学新词younger,older,taller,shorter,longer

(1)教学单词younger

T: How old are you?

Sl: I-m 12.

T: I-m 34. Sl is young. Sl is younger than me.

教师板书:young-younger(er用红色粉笔标注),告诉学生:younger是young的比较级。当两者进行比较时,就要用到比较级,如:Sl is younger than me.比较级通常是在原词上加er,er发[a]的音。教师用升降调带读单词。 (2)教学单词older

T: Sl is younger than me. So I’m older than Sl.极书:old-older(er用红色粉笔标注)。利用大小声操练单词older,即教师高举单词卡片,学生就大声读单词;教师将卡片放到胸前,学生用中等音量读单词;教师将卡片放到腹部,学生则小声读单词。

(3)教学单词taller,shorter

教师走到一位比自己矮的学生面前,让其起立。指着自己说:I-m tall.指着对方说:You’re short.(板书:tall short)让学生试着说说这两个单词的比较级,教师补充板书:tall-taller short-shorter。

活动:明辨是非

活动方式:如果教师指着tall,读tall,全班就一起跟读tall;如果教师指着taller,读tall,全班就都不能跟读,如果有谁跟读了,则被判出局。

(4)教学单词longer

教师手持长、短两把尺子,引导学生说:This ruler is long. That ruler is short.(板书:long)通过比较尺子的长短,引导学生说:This ruler is longer than that one.教师补充板书:long-longer,然后用“山谷回声”的方式操练单词,即教师大声读一遍longer,学生模仿“山谷回声”小声地读三遍单词。

(5)学生边做动作边说chant:

Taller, taller, taller

Yao Ming is taller than me.

Shorter, shorter, shorter!

Zip is shorter than me.

Older, older, older!

Monkey King is older than me.

Younger, younger, younger

Baby Tom is younger than me.

(6)活动:Line up

活动方式:教师每次请八名学生上台,让他们根据教师的指令排好队伍。如教师发指令:Line up from shorter to taller.学生则要按由矮到高的顺序排好队。然后第一个学生对第二个学生说:I'm shorter than you.第二个学生则对第三个学生说I-m shorter than you.以此类推,直到最后一名学生说完。教师还可以继续发出其他揩令让学生排队说句子,如:Line up from taller to shorter. Line up from

younger to older…

2.教学A. Let’s learn

(1)教师将一张身高测量图贴在黑板上,指着一米的位置说:This is one

metre.(板书:metre)并用升降调带读metre。教师先请一名学生站到测量图前,接着询问:How tall are you?然后教师用手指着他(她)的身高处,让学生自己来说说其身高:I'm…metres.随后教师板书:How tall are you? I'm…metres.再请一名学生上台,全班齐问:How tall are you?学生量完身高后,将自己的身高告诉全班同学,教师将学生的名字和身高写在黑板上。

(2)教师指着黑板上两名同学的身高,让全班根据他们的身高值比高矮,如:A is taller than is shorter than A.….

(3)教师播放A. Let's learn部分的课文录音,学生边听边跟读。

3.教学A. Do a survey and report

活动方式:学生四人一组,先各自仿照范例画好表格:

然后通过对话的方式填写表格,如:

Sl: How old are you?

S2: I’m 12 years old.

Sl: How tall are you?

S2: I'm metres.

最后教师请几名学生汇报自己的调查结果。如:Wu Yifan is taller than John,but Zhang Peng is taller than Wu Yifan. John is younger than Zhang Peng.

四、巩固与拓展(Consolidation and extension)

1.教学英文歌曲《My small cat》。 (1)教师播放歌曲,学生静听。

(2)再次播放歌曲录音,让学生小声跟唱,体会歌曲的节奏。

(3)继续播放歌曲录音,让学生大声跟唱。

(4)学生配上动作表演唱。

2.活动:明星档案

活动方式:全班学生四人为一小组,根据教师提供的表格填写一位明星的个人资料。表格如下:

学生填写好“明星档案”后,让学生用一段话介绍一下各自喜欢的明星。如:I like Jay Zhou. He's a singer. He's from Taiwan. He's 35 years old. He's likes

playing the piano.…最后让学生利用今天所学句型比较明星们的身高和年龄:Jay

Zhou is taller than Wilber Pan. Jay Zhou is. older than Wilber Pan.~

五、家庭作业(Homework)

1.听录音,跟读对话。

2.用今天所学的句型,询问家人、朋友的年龄和身高,并用英文比较他们的身高和年龄。

3.完成活动手册配套练习。
