改革开放30年的中小学英语教材人民教育出版社刘道义在改革开放的30年中,中小学英语教材建设大体可分为三个阶段:1978年至1988年,1988年至2001年,2001年至今。
在这三个历史阶段,中小学英语教材不断改革创新。
现在,分别介绍三个历史阶段的中小学英语教材编制情况及其特点。
一、以结构主义语言教学理论为基础编制的通用中小学英语教材1978年,全国教材会议英语编写组编订了《全日制十年制中小学英语教学大纲(试行草案)》,并且编写了小学英语课本六册、初中英语课本六册和高中英语课本二册。
此外,为了适应当时高中英语教学的需要,1979年秋季编辑出版了程度较低的过渡性的高中代用课本二册。
配合各册课本使用还编写了供教师使用的教学参考书。
这套教材对拨乱反正,纠正不顾外语教学规律突出政治的错误倾向,对稳定教学秩序,保证教学质量起到了重要的作用。
1980年,教育部颁发了《全日制十年制中小学英语教学大纲(试行草案)》。
1982年秋,中小学开始使用新编的英语课本(小学1~4册,初中1~6册)。
接着,在1984年开始使用高中课本(1~3册)。
这一套统编教材一直用到1998年(最后一届高三学生),是建国后使用时间最长的英语教材。
这个期间,尽管教学大纲几经调整,但教材没有做大的变动,仅相应作了修订和调整(主要是减轻分量)。
领导这段时期教材编制工作的是人民教育出版社张志公和唐钧。
1986年11月,根据“适当降低难度,减轻学生负担,明确教学要求”的原则,教材审定委员会审查通过了1986年的《全日制中学英语教学大纲》。
这个大纲确定,中学外语科有两个起点,一个是从初中一年级开始,另一个是从高中一年级开始,其要求接近初中一年级开始的外语课的要求。
人民教育出版社根据大纲的精神,听取了广大师生对现行教材的意见,对教材作了适当的修订,降低了难度。
也就是根据这个大纲和教育部《关于加强中学外语教育的意见》,人教社在现行初、高中教材的基础上编辑出版了高中起始的英语教材,共六册。

1960年代上海市数学教材改革的回忆编者按1949年建国以来,数学教材基本上照抄苏联。
在此后的漫长岁月里,中小学数学教材不断改革,一直持续到今天。
经中央政府批准,上海市的课程设置可以与全国不同,领先一步进行改革试验。
郑启明同志撰写的这份回忆,记录了上海市在1960年代进行数学教材改革的第一个高潮。
当时的方案固然有冒进的倾向,但是其中许多有价值的思路,尤其是1962-1965年苏步青教授主编的那套教材,对后来的数学课程改革具有深刻影响。
郑启明同志曾任华东师范大学教务长、国家教委督导司司长。
1960年1月间,我被任命为华东师范大学数学系党总支副书记。
同年春节期间,华东师范大学党委书记常溪萍同志召我去他家中谈话。
向我传达了上海市委杨西光的批示,大意是“形势逼人,教育要革命。
北京已着手编中小学新教材,我们要闻风而动,立即组织力量编写一套上海市中小学数学革新教材。
由华东师范大学具体负责成立一个中小学数学课程革新委员会,请苏老(指苏步青教授)当主任委员,立即开展工作。
所需人力、财力,市里全力支持。
”常溪萍命我抓好这项工作。
于是我立即与各方面联系,成立“上海市中小学数学课程革新委员会(下称“革新委员会)”:主任委员:苏步青。
副主任委员:郑启明、姚晶。
委员(按姓字笔划为序):叶懋英(同济附中)、朱凤豪(吴淞中学)、余元希、谷超豪、杨荣祥、赵宪初、赵泽寰(虹口中学)、唐秀颖、蒋卓慕(实验小学)。
上述名单中,副主任委员还有复旦数学系总支书记葛林槐,但后来没有来。
委员名单中,可能遗漏个别同志。
“革新委员会”于元宵节前集中在复旦大学陈建功教授原住宅中,关门讨论,拟订方案,分“前言”和“大纲”两部分。
由我起草“前言”初稿,说明为培养学生勇攀科学高峰奠定基础。
指出原来中小学数学教材照抄苏联,人为降低水平,内容陈旧落后,搞烦琐哲学,脱离实际,不适应社会主义建设的需求等等,必须改革。
并且提出改革的几点意见。
“大纲”部分,按十年制小学、中学各五年,中学三年级可以告一段落进行设计,以便有些地方中只能普及八年。
