Appendix B:清洁度标准说明ISO 4406, NAS1638 和SAE AS4059D清洁度等级对于液压和润滑液中的固体污染物可用几种清洁度等级体系来定义，用梯度变化的颗粒数来表示一个简单易懂的污染物代码。
在这些污染物代码中，其中两个最常用的标准是ISO4406标准和NAS1638标准，这两个标准分别由国际标准委员会和美国航空航天研究协会制定。
后面的标准NAS1638将被汽车工程师学会制定的SAE AS4059D标准替代。
ISO 4406标准：是在1987年制定的具有国际性的标准，用大于5µm和15µm的颗粒数浓度作为衡量液压／润滑油品的污染度指标。
ISO清洁度等级是由两个数字组成，第一个数字是表示>5µm 的颗粒浓度，第二个数字是表示>15µm 的颗粒浓度。
每个数字都代表了一个尺寸范围内的颗粒浓度，表示溶液的每毫升颗粒数。
数字等级是按照下面的表定义的：例如公布的清洁度等级为14/12，这表示大于5µm的颗粒浓度为每毫升80－160个，大于15µm 的颗粒浓度为每毫升20－40个。
这种定义液体清洁度等级的方法通常用于显微镜计数方法；若该法推广到自动计数（APCS）法，其含义是采用空气净化器粉尘（ACFTD）作为标定粉尘，按照ISO4402标准标定自动计数器。
1999年，ISO4406标准又引入了大于2µm 的颗粒浓度等级。
如此，一个ISO4406标准清洁度等级就包含了3个颗粒段尺寸，例如16/14/12，第一个数字16就表示的是大于2µm 的颗粒浓度。
需要注意的是，显微镜方法测得的颗粒尺寸是取被测颗粒的最大方向的长度。
大多数的自动计数器检测液体清洁度时，所测得的颗粒尺寸是投影面积的当量直径。
通常说来，自动计数器使用的ACFTD标准粉尘是按Kirnbauer分布的，由自动计数器检测所得的结果在显微镜计数的认可范围内。

由于实际油液各尺寸段的污染程度不可能相同，因此被测油样的污染度按其中的最高等级来定。
这会引起一个问题。
例如，测出的5~10μm的污染度可能是4级，15~25μm颗粒的污染度可能是6级，25~50μm可能是5级，而50~100μm颗粒的污染度可能是8级，这时数据就很难处理，往往使得概念不清。
液压油清洁度和允许颗粒数之间的关系液压油中混入过多的颗粒物会堵塞油滤、擦伤密封件、堵塞或磨损元件。
但液压油在生产及使用过程中不可能做到完全没有颗粒物。
目前我国润滑油生产厂家对液压油的颗粒物还是以“机械杂质”<0.05%来控制的,而国外多用美国字航局(NAS)的NAS 1638(见表1)和国际标准化组织(ISO)的ISO4406-1987 (见表2)油液清洁度级别来恒量。
例如液压系统对油品清洁度的要求如下:·大间隙、低压液压系统: NAS 10~12 (大约相当于ISO 19/16~21/18,允许≥5u颗粒数/毫升:大约5,000~20,000≥15u大约640~2,500)·中、高压液压系统: NAS 7~9 (大约相当于ISO16/13~18/15,允许≥5u 颗粒数/毫升:大约640~2,500;≥15:大约80~320)·敏感及伺服高压液压系统: NAS 4~6(大约相当于ISO 13/10~15/12,允许≥54颗粒数/毫升:大约80~32; ≥15u：大约10~40)IS0 4406-1987与NAS 1638油液清洁度等级对应关系详见表3。
目前我国普通工艺生产的液压油一般只能达到NAS 8~10。
目前常见液压油等级要求是ISO ~18/15（Nas 9），抽检测试见表4。

液压油液污染度等级标准
一、美国NAS1638污染度分级标准
美国NAS1638污染度等级如下表所示。
以颗粒浓度为基础，按100mL 油液中在给定的5个颗粒尺寸区间内的最大允许颗粒数划分为14个等级，最清洁的为00级，污染度最高的为12级。

二、ISO4406污染度分级标准
我国制定的液压油液颗粒污染度等级标准采用ISO4406。
这个污染度等级标准用两个代号表示油液的污染度。
前面的代号表示1mL 油液中大于5μm 颗粒数的等级，后面的代号表示1mL 油液中 大于15μm 颗粒数的等级，两个代号间用一 斜线分隔。
代号的含义如表所示。
例如，等 级代号为20/17的液压油，表示它在每毫升
内大于5μm 的颗粒数在5000～10000 之间， 大于15μm 的颗粒数在640～1300之间。
这 种双代号标志法说明实质性的工程问题是很 科学的，因为5μm 左右的颗粒对堵塞元件 缝隙的危害最大，而大于15μm 的颗粒对元 件的磨损作用最为显著，用它们来反映油液 的污染度最为恰当，因而这种标准得到了普 遍的采用。
三、典型液压系统的清洁度等级
注：这里的级别指NAS1638。
清洁度等级相当于ISO4406。

NAS1638污染度等级是由美国航天协会提出的，按5μm～15μm，15μm～25μm，25μm～50μm，50μm～100μm和>100μm的污染物颗粒个数划分为14级。
当油液污染度超过已有分级时，可用外推法确定其污染等级。

The two cleanliness standards can not be directly compared or converted, as the basic principles within the two systems differ to much.
