Chapter 4 皇上被气死
满清雍正元年，康熙帝驾崩后，结束了血腥的九龙夺嫡。新的君主继位，国泰民安，政治清明，但在一片祥和的表象之下，一股暗流蠢蠢欲动。尤其后宫，华妃（蒋欣饰）与皇后（蔡少芬饰）分庭抗礼，各方势力裹挟其中，凶险异常。皇太后（刘雪华饰）为皇帝（陈建斌饰）举办了其在位十三年间唯一的一次选秀。十七岁的甄嬛（孙俪饰）与好姐妹眉庄（斓曦饰）、陵容（陶昕然饰）奉命参选，她抱着只不过来充个数的念头，因此薄施粉黛，只等皇上“撂牌子”让她落选。可命运却跟她开了个玩笑，皇帝偏相中了甄嬛的智慧、气节与端庄，再加上她是爱臣甄远道之女，于是把甄嬛留在了宫中，三姐妹一同入选后宫，都成为了皇帝的妃 嫔。[1] 主要人物(27张) 初入宫的甄嬛与眉庄、陵容结成一派，周旋在皇后和华妃两派之间。皇后城府极深，碍于华妃兄长年羹尧在前朝党羽甚多，实力不可小觑，所以隐忍。华妃嚣张，步步紧逼，甄嬛受辱，几度险些丧命于后宫。等到眉庄被冤，甄嬛初次怀孕被害流产。陵容变心，投奔皇后。天真的甄嬛逐渐感受到后宫的寒冷，慢慢成为后宫精明的女子。皇帝发现年羹尧的野心，令甄远道剪除了年氏一族，甄嬛也用智慧斗倒了华妃。但皇后担心甄嬛羽翼渐丰会成为第二个“华妃”，于是借不敬纯元皇后（已故）为名陷害甄嬛，使甄嬛再度失宠，同时也得知已有身孕和明白了自己得宠不过是因为长得极像已故的纯元皇后，由此心灰意冷。甄父也被文字狱牵连而遭牢狱之灾，甄嬛生下女儿胧月后，绝望的甄嬛选择出宫至甘露寺修行。甄嬛在寺中受尽欺凌，幸得果亲王十七爷悉心照顾，二人在患难中相亲相爱，只等有机会一起远走高飞，过平常人的生活。十七爷去滇藏微服巡视，误传死讯，甄嬛为替十七爷报仇，也为保全腹中十七爷的骨肉，设计与皇帝相遇，重回宫中。太后为权衡后宫各方势力同意甄嬛回宫，为了掩人耳目，皇帝假称甄嬛是四阿哥弘历的生母，是承德旧日宫女，到甘露寺以钮祜禄氏之姓迎回宫中，封为熹妃。甄嬛回宫前日，十七爷却活着回来，二人感慨为命运所弄，但为了肚子里的孩子，甄嬛狠心断绝了十七爷的念想，并决心靠权利保护自己的亲人。甄嬛回宫 后不久，太后病逝，后宫人心浮动，危机四伏。
