教育类

Although this practice does bring about some benefits in terms of the development, the drawbacks it exerts on the educational level, the employment of the college leavers and the society are more obvious.

让步式

Admittedly, accepting more students offers some advantages, because the more educated people there are, the faster the development of a nation’s economy will be. It is especially the case in many developed countries, such as Japan and Germany.

罗列式

However, reaching the above-mentioned conclusion does not mean the same as assuming that we should turn a blind eye to its drawbacks. Indeed, with more students being accepted, a nation’s educational quality will be negatively affected for there will be the insufficiency in teachers and teaching facilities. It has already happened in many developing countries.

In addition, it is this practice that results in the high unemployment of the college graduates. A recent survey conducted in china convincingly shows that about 40 percent college graduates remain unemployed. Nobody ,I am sure, would like to see this. What is the most serious lies in the fact that some universities accept more students just for the sake of money. Not only is it detrimental to the individuals but is disastrous to the well-being of the society as a whole.

批判式结尾

In conclusion, despite the importance of enrolling an increasing number of the students, the disadvantages are absolutely more apparent. How to reverse the trend should be an urgent task for the government and the people concerned

In conclusion, despite the importance of practical subjects, traditional ones such as history and geography are still irreplaceable because of their intrinsic value. There are high hopes that government and the people concerned should exercise their wisdom to alleviate the pressure of the joblessness of the college graduates.

Considering the seriousness of the negative effects, I think certain ,measures should be taken. The most effective of it is an environment should be created where young people can feel less stressful. In a word, hard work should be highly, but not excessively valued.

批判式开篇

Nowadays ,there was indeed a popular wisdom that college teachers should focus on practical subjects such as computer science and business instead of some traditional ones like history and geography. This view, however, sounds more questionable.

Although this tendency brings about some benefits, the drawbacks in terms of student’s physical and psychological development are more obvious.

让步式

Admittedly, practica l subjects play a vital role in today’s world, because we are living in the so-called technology and commerce-based society ,which means those who are excellent in practical studies are more likely to have an edge in job-hunting. For example, if a person has a good command of computer skills, it is relatively easy for him to find a job.

Some people might argue on the grounds that hard work can benefit people, especially young people, by molding them into the strong-willed. It is especially valuable in such times when more and more young people are spoiled.

罗列式反驳段

However, reaching the above mentioned conclusion does not mean the same as assuming that we should attach less importance to traditional subjects like history and geography. By learning history and geography, people will have a better understanding of their country, thus evoking the patriotic emotion. This is especially valuable and priceless in such times when many people, especially young ones, have alienated from their traditions.

It is understandable for these people to think so. However, I tend to think that working hard under certain age can pose more potential threats to the development of young people. Physically speaking, young people are immature in terms of growth. Excessive work may give rise to a series of undesirable outcomes, such as the deterioration of physical condition.

It has already happened in many countries including china. What is more serious lies in the psychological aspect. It is not a rarity to read the reports that many young youngsters have developed some kinds of mental disorder ranging from depression, anxiety to even committing suicide. I think too much stress from work is culprit. Furthermore, they might feel more desperate if they can not get what they hope for although they work very hard, thereby triggering a vicious circle.

递进式

Besides, it must be realized that the unemployment of the college graduates is not due to a single cause, but due to a combination of factors, such as the economic recession, lack of experience. Therefore, prioritizing practical subjects is not the fundamental solution.

社会生活类

There is much discussion about whether the relationship between family members is as close as before. Diverse contributing factors can identified, such as the changes in the fabric of the family, the severe competition and the popularity of entertaining facilities.

Great changes have taken place in family life along with the development of society, one of which is that the old extended family tends to become smaller and smaller. Many children have to leave their parents at an early age to study or work elsewhere. As time passes, they become emotionally estranged from their parents.

Moreover, compared with the past, social competition is becoming increasingly fierce. People are urged to concentrate their efforts …,so that they can achieve success or at least a good standard of living. As a result,…

In addition, the availability of various kinds of recreational facilities also diverts people from enjoying charts with members of their families. Their free time is mostly occupied by watching TV, surfing the internet or playing video games. Thus, they come to lose interest in communicating with the other members of their families.

In view of such alienation within families, urgent steps must be taken. For members of families who live away from….; for those…; for those who live together, it is a good idea to take some time off work or recreation periods to spend more time with each other.

科技类话题

With the wide use of internet, the way people conduct business and live their lives has vastly changed. Many businesses have websites that allow people to conduct business, execute deals and finish transactions online. Although people are thus free from the constraints of geography and time via internet, there are some consequences of this trend that demand attention.

环境类题目话题:I think it is true that in almost every country today each household and family produces a large amount of waste every week. Most of this rubbish comes from the packaging from the things we buy, such as processed food. But even if we buy fresh food without packaging, we still produce rubbish from the plastic bags used everywhere to carry shopping home.

政府政策类

Factories can be rarely seen in inner city blocks, and some city dwellers have said farewell to business officies in downtown areas. I definitely believe it will be a popular worldwide trend with some overt benefits, despite some minor problems.

The most worrying problem associated with this development is the increasingly longer time spend on commute, because offices and factories are now built further away from employee’s homes. Statistics show that in 2008, an average person in shanghai spend about 70 minutes everyday to travel from home to work, a 20% increase over the previous year. Meanwhile, many companies find it difficult to recruit skilled employees or high-level management staff because these people are not willing to work and live in remote parts of the city.

However, more employees have become the beneficiaries of this trend. Many employees used to complain about crowed office space, acute shortage of parking lots, expensive luncheon and tedious civic landscape filled up with cement blocks. Now, they can move to a larger spaces, like industrial parks equipped with more personalized facilities ,including regular shuttle bus service, areas for relaxation and comfortable and large meeting rooms with nicer views. All these seems to be a "utopia" to those who are still working in congested blocks.

The reasons for this trend may involve the recognition that a young adult who passes directly from school to university is rather restricted in terms of general knowledge and experience of the world. By contrast, those who have spent some time earning a living or traveling to other places have a broader view of life and better personal resources to draw on. They tend to be more independent, which is a very important factor in academic study and research, as well as giving them an advantage in terms of coping with the challenges of student life.

However, there are certainly dangers in taking time off at that important age. Young adults may end up never returning to their studies or finding it difficult to readapt to an academic environment. They may think that it is better to continue in a particular job, or to do something completely different from a university course. But overall, I think this is less likely today, when academic qualifications are essential for getting a reasonable career.

There are benefits for many companies too. Relocating to regional areas would mean a reduction in cost of rent and an increase in profit. Take Nokia, the world’s leading manufacturer of mobile phones, for instance. By moving one of its branches to a software park in southwest china, it cut its expenditure by almost 50 percent in 2008.

Additionally, aggregation effect will bring a wide range of valuable resources to the same area and keep them close to each other, speeding up business and industrial operations. Such resources may include raw materials, manual labors ,technology centers, university graduates, as well as facilities of transportation and storage.

Do you agree or disagree?(2013/01/19) 范文: Both positive and negative effects of childcare have proven to be long lasting. Therefore, there has been a surge of interest in arranging childcare courses for parents. Although it seems to be overreaching to require both parents’ participation in professionally organized childcare training, personally, I believe that both parents’ participation is advisable for the sake of providing growth-oriented environment for children. The notion that the role of parents is to provide a safe place for children to relax, cater for child’semotional and physical needs, and provide consistent and responsive care is narrow and superficial. (七分范文)Some people believe that studying at university or college is the best route to a successful career, while others believe that it is better to get a job straight after school. Discuss both views and give your opinion. When they finish school, teenagers face the dilemma that whether to get a job or continue their education. While there are some benefits to getting a job straight after school, I would argue that it is better to go to college or university. The option to start work straight after school is attractive for several reasons. Many young people want to start earning money as soon as possible. In this way, they can become independent, and they will be able to afford their own house or start a family. In terms of their career, young people who decide to find work, rather than continue their studies, may progress more quickly. They will have the chance to gain real experience and learn practical skills related to their chosen profession. This may lead to promotions and a successful career.

11. Modern lifestyles mean that many parents have little time for their children. Many children suffer because they do not get as much attention from their parents as children did in the past. In the modern society today, a large number of parents spend their time in the job. Due to this situation, many children do not get much attention from their parents as children did in the past. Of course I admit of children get more comfortable life than before, also children probably having higher living standard as well. Nevertheless, what are the children really want? Is the money? Is the computer? Or is the attention from their dad or mom? The otherwise, what does the parents want to leave in the childhood of their children? In my opinion, I agree with many children do not get much attention from their parents as children did in the past. In addition, I understand the parents wish to giving better life to their children, therefore, they work harder than before, because of this, the parents lost the time to accompany with their children and unable to pay attention to their children as the children did in the past, but I think the most important thinking is “there are not thing important than the attention from the parents to children”. We should know the rich materia l life can?t replace the care from parents of children. One of parents? responsibilities is take good care to their children, also parents should spend more time to teach children. In conclusion, modern lifestyle changed relationship between parents and children, many parents misunderstand the meaning of bring up of children, they thought “bring up of children” means giving money to their children, giving anything the children want is love. But actually it totally wrong, the most important part of bring up must be pay attention to children, care them, teach them, not only spend money of them. 12. More and more qualified people are moving from poor to rich countries to fill vacancies in specialist areas like engineering, computing and medicine. Some people believe that by encouraging the movement of such people, rich countries are stealing from poor countries. Others feel that this is only part of the natural movement of workers around the world. (brain drain) The so-called …brain drain? from poor to rich c ountries is now robbing poorer countries of essential personnel like doctors, nurses, engineers, and the trend is set to continue, if not to get worse. Some people say this movement of people around the world is not a new phenomenon. Migrant workers have always been attracted by the wider choice of employment and greater opportunity in major cities in their own countries and abroad. Recently, as the technological age has advanced and as richer countries find themselves with not enough workers to feed their development, they have had to run to other parts of

Write a report for a university teacher describing the information shown.

Sample Answer: The provided line graphs compare the employment history of men and women in 1975 and 1995 dividing in six major sectors namely: manufacturing, communications, finance/ banking, wholesale & retail trade, non-defence public sectors and defence public sectors. As is observed from the given illustration, significant changes have been made in women's employment and women appear to have made remarkable improvements in almost the entire job sectors in Freedonia and in some sectors women went well ahead of men. Initially in 1975, men were notably ahead of women in every sector of employment. For example, in communication sector about 260 men worked against 220 women in every thousand employees. Twenty years later, though the number of men remained unchanged, the number of women rose to over 550 in one thousand. A similar trend can be seen in the wholesale and retail trade sector, where the number of women rose from about 550 to almost 800 in every 1000 employees of this sector two decades later. The number of men in this sector remained stable over the period, at around 700 / thousand.
