In recent years, the number of Internet users in China has increased
rapidly, soaring to 485 million in mid-2011. Moreover, China’s rush to
connectivity is far from over. China is now being brought together like
never before by a new connectivity.
近年来，中国的网民数量迅速增加，到2011年6月底增至4.85亿。而且，中国奔向互

With the cost of connectivity falling gradually, and with urbanization
also rising sharply, the proportion of the population using the Internet

China’s microblogs had almost 270 million users as of late 2011. And
there is plenty of upside. But the real message concerns the influence
of connectivity, not just its scale.

With connectivity comes a national awareness of spending habits,
tastes and brands--a key factor for a long-unbalanced Chinese
economy. The Internet could also enable freer and more open
communications, transparent and rapid dissemination of information
and individual development.

The power of network in China is hard to predict. But it makes the
modern China more united. That can only accelerate the speed of its
