背景材料：我国有多少种濒危动物我国是濒危动物分布大国。
据不完全统计，仅列入《濒危野生动植物种国际贸易公约》附录的原产于中国的濒危动物有120多种(指原产地在中国的物种)，列入《国家重点保护野生动物名录》的有257种，列入《中国濒危动物红皮书》的鸟类、两栖爬行类和鱼类有400种，列入各省、自治区、直辖市重点保护野生动物名录的还有成百上千种。
随着经济的持续快速发展和生态环境的日益恶化，我国的濒危动物种类还会增加。
改革开放以来，我国进口了不少动物，如湾鳄、暹罗鳄、食蟹猴、黑猩猩、非洲象等。
这些外来的濒危动物，也受到国家的重点保护。
至于我国究竟有多少种濒危动物很难说清。
但可以肯定，如果包括无脊椎动物的话，至少有1000种。
大熊猫Great Panda大熊猫属于兽纲食肉目大熊猫科大熊猫属。
只产于中国的四川、甘肃、陕西。
属于国家一级保护动物，是世界级珍贵物种。
其体形似黑熊，头圆而大，尾极短。
躯干和尾白色，两耳、眼及四肢全黑色。
以竹叶为主食，为食肉目中的“素食”种类。
常在竹林内卧睡，平时单独活动，行动缓慢，性情温顺，听、视觉较差、自卫能力弱。
栖息在海拔1400—3500米的高山竹林内，主要以竹笋、竹叶及嫩竹尖为食，亦喜吃野果或一些动物性食物，为食肉目中的“素食”种类。
