1. We usually link a consonant sound with a vowel sound together like this.

2. When two consonant sounds are the same, we only need to pronounce the sound once.

3. When there are two vowel sounds and the first word ends with /i/ or /i:/ sound, we join

them as if there were a /j/ sound between them.

4. When there are two vowel sounds and the first word ends with /u/ or /u:/ sound, we join

them as if there were a /w/ sound between them .
