教学内容(地位,
目标,重点)
本节内容为人教版高中英语必修三第五单元Canada- “The True North”的词汇部分的第一节。
作为必修三的复习单元,本单元出现的部分词汇既有其已知意义,又有其新生意义。本节涉及的词汇均为课标要求掌握的项目。其中quiz, Canadian, minister,
continent, baggage,scenery, eastward, westward, upward, harbour要求达到七级词汇要求,chat, surround, measure和rather than要求达到八级要求。其中涉及的eastward,
westward, upward和非课标项目multicultural涉及学生猜词与构词能力的培养,与八级要求的四个词汇共同作为本节教学重点。其中涉及的rather than的用法会对学生掌握造成困难。
作为课文文本前的词汇教学,在本节采用融合了涉及的90%词汇用法的自编短文A Romantic Love Story为载体,为学生提供一个生动而完整的语境,让学生在阅读中推测词汇与表达的意义,达到培养学生的阅读与归纳推理能力,同时引起学生对于加拿大这个浪漫主义国度的兴趣,为后面单元内容的学习做好铺垫。另外,通过对点的例句展示与练习,强化学生对知识本身的理解和掌握,从而达到本节的三维目标。

Ask students to read the first part of the word list loudly together and correct the
mistakes.
Check the mastering of the meanings of some important words in English.

Step Two: Group Work And Presentation
1. Check the preview by asking students to retell the story in a few words.

2. Ask the students to work in group of four to communicate and exchange their ideas
about the usage of the key points: word-building(multi-; -ward(s)), rather than, chat,
surround and measure, and present the result of discussion in groups.
Ask students to present the usage of the expressions while interpreting the sentences in
which the expression appeared.
