Step 1.Lead-in
1. Have a free talk:
What does the sign mean? It means it is a bridge. What about this? It means it is a street.
Does the man walk straight on? No, he doesn't. Are there traffic lights? Yes, there are.
Is there a zebra crossing? Yes, there is.
2 .Write down the new words. Look at the pictures and
review some phrases and drills about directions
Answer the questions and
Cross the bridge, the traffic lights, turn right,
the first/second turning
Step2.Presentation
1. Show pictures on Page 49,then say:
Here we have some simple instructions.
Let’s listen to the tape and tick the correct boxes.
2. Listen and read after the tape.
3 1a: Cross the bridge and turn left.
1b: Cross the bridge and turn right.
2a: Take the first turning on the left.
2b: Take the second turning on the right.
3a: Cross the road.
3b: Cross the road at the zebra crossing.
4a: Walk past the police station.
4b: Walk to the police station.
Step3.Listening
1.Show a map of a treasure hunt .tell them the students are going on a treasure hunt. Simon and Daniel are in the same group. They have a map. Let’s read the map on Page 50 together. What can you see in the map?
2.Read the sentences on P.49 Part A2 and try to understand the meaning of them.
3.Play the tape. Ss listen and put these sentences in the correct order.
Step 4. Practice
1 Show the map in PartA3 again. Play the tape ,students listen and draw the route on the map finish PartA1.
Listen to the tape.
Read after the tape.
Practice in pairs.
Find the correct route..
2 Play the tape again ,check the answer .
3.Describe the route according to the map
B Speak up: How do I get there
Step1.Presentation
1.Play the tape,students listen and draw a route to the place.
2 Read and act out the dialogue.
Step2.Practice
Make a new dialogue using Millie’s dialogue as a model. Show the way to their own home.
Step3.Homework
1.Recite the dialogue.
2.完成课课练相关练习Listen and finish the exercises.
