1教学目标 At the end of the lesson, students are expected to learn about how electricity works everywhere in the cities and in the countryside; enlarge vocabulary: drive, (operate, power) , produce, work,(entertain), churn, wonder; talk about the benefits and importance of electricity in people’s daily life; be aware of the fact that life would be terrible without electricity and learn to understand modern life is fantastic and full of amazement because of electricity; develop group presentation skills.

2学情分析 授课班级为世外中学双语班，英语能力较八年级其他境内班级学生而言相对薄弱，大多数学生平常能够读明白难度中等及中上的阅读材料，积极参与课堂互动，并在老师的指导下完成课堂对话及小组表演的口头展现

3重点难点 文章中的名词、形容词活用动词和相关词组： light the streets, warm people, heat food, drive trains, milk the cow, chop their food, churn the butter。并补充同义动词operate, power, produce,entertain等

通过不同形式的阅读教学策略来关心学生加深对文本内容及词汇的明白得和把握。 口头操练并复习巩固学生已有的一些关于描述电给生活带来的好处的形容词极其反义词：(un)comfortable, (in)convenient, (in)efficient, (un)enjoyable, (un)interesting等。并把文中所学运用到最后的presentation环节，描述电对我们生活的重要性。
