Unit 4 Amazing Science

Topic 1 Spaceships are mainly controlled by computers Section A

Section A 需用1课时。

活动重点是1a.

教学目标:1. 了解“神舟”五号的相关知识。

2. 培养学生对航天知识的兴趣和爱国主义情操。

教学过程:

第一步:复习

1. 利用图片和学生的一些美术作品, 复习一般现在时的被动态。如:

( 1 ) The compass is invented by Chinese.

( 2 ) The bulb is invented by Edison.

( 3 ) The cute panda is drawn by S1.

( 4 ) The handsome boy is drawn by S2.

( 5 ) The beautiful girl is drawn by S3.

2. 教师呈现嫦娥和一张月球探测器的图片,师生对话,引出生词lunar probe, 了解legend, 导出新课。如:

T : When I was a little girl, I had a dream, that one day, I could travel

to the moon and had a good time with lovely rabbit . Do you

know who she is ?

Ss : It’s Chang’e.

T : Yes, you are right. She is Chang’e, and here, I had another photo

of Chang’e. Yes, it’s not a beautiful lady, but it’a also

amazing, it’s the first lunar probe of China. The lunar probe

help us know more about the moon.

第二步 呈现

1. 教师出示几张“神舟”五号及杨利伟的照片,进行师生对话。引出生词hero, 导入1a.

T : Who is the first Chinese hero to travel around the earth?

Ss :Yang Liwei.

T : Yes, now, Michael and Kangkang are in the Science Museum,

they’re in front of the Yang’s photo. Let’s watch the flash and

answer the questions.

2. 让学生观看1a的flash动画,回答下列问题,核对答案。

( 1 ) Who is Yang Liwei ?

He is the first Chinese to travel into space.

( 2 ) How long did Shenzhou V travel around the earth ?

For 21 hours.

( 3 ) How many manned spaceships has sent up into space ?

Three. ( Four. )

( 4 ) Do you know the legend of Chang’e ? Please tell us about it.

The answers are various. Answer me after you have thought it

over.

3. 让学生自读1a, 找出重点句子,及理解对话中不定式作定语的句子,引出生词并要求学生掌握 prove,proud,must和achieve。

( 1 ) He is the first Chinese to travel into space.

China is the third nation to send a person into space.

不定式作定语,修饰前面有序数词修饰的名词

the + 序数词 + 名词 + to do sth

e.g. He is the first person to finish the work.

他是第一个完成工作的人。

Mike was always the last child to leave school.

迈克是最后一个离开学校的孩子。

( 2 ) That proves that China has made great progress in its space

industry.

prove : 证明、证实

e.g. Many facts proved that his answer was correct.

大量事实证明他的结论是正确的。

One day, he will prove it to you.

有一天,他会证明给你看。

Her behavior proved ( to be ) very polite.

她的行为证明她很有礼貌。

( 3 ) All of you must be very proud.

be proud of =take pride in 为…而骄傲

must : 表示的是一种推测。类似的用法还有may, might.

可能性由大到小的顺序为must→may→might。

e.g. Kangkang must know the way to the Summer Palace.

可能性最大。

He may tell the truth to us. 有可能性。

She didn’t call me up last week. He might be very busy.

可能性最小。

( 4 ) I think you can achieve your dream in the future.

achieve one’s dream = realize one’s dream 实现某人梦想

第三步 巩固

1. 让学生听1a录音并跟读,进一步理解并掌握重点。

2. 双人活动。 两人一组分角色表演1a。完成1a。

第四步 练习

1. 导入2a。如:

T:From 1a, we know Yang Liwei is the first person to travel into

space in China. Do you want to know who is the first person to

travel into space in the world ? listen to the passage and fill in the

blanks of 2a, it’s about famous Russian astronaut.

2. 让学生听2a录音,填空并核对答案。完成2a。

3. 让学生自读2a, 完成2b, 教师核对答案。

4. 导入2b, 如:

T : Another astronaut, his name is Neil Alden Armstrong , the first

moon walker in history. His famous words : One small step for

man, one giant leap for mankind .

5. 让学生独立完成3,理解astronaut和mankind。教师核对答案。

第五步 综合探究活动

1. 小组活动。让学生根据提供的杨利伟材料,与同伴进行对话,注意运用所提供的英语词汇。

a. 杨利伟来自辽宁省,是我国太空第一人,他是我国的英雄,我们将永远记住他。

b. 遨游太空是一个伟大的旅程,杨利伟使梦想变成了现实,这是我国太空历史的进步。

e.g. Yang Liwei is from Liaoning Province. He is the first

astronaut who travel into space in China. We are proud of him

and will remember him forever as our national hero.

Traveling in space is really a great journey, and Yang Liwei

achieved his dream. China has made great progress in the

industry.

In the future, China will make greater achievements in

space exploration.

2. 让学生课下上网查找更多有关中国神六、神七和神九载人宇宙飞船及国外有关太空探索的信息,并与同学分享。

第六步 课堂内容总结

1. must : 表示的是一种推测。类似的用法还有may, might.

可能性由大到小的顺序为must→may→might。

2. Useful expressions:

( 1 ) be proud of =take pride in 为…而骄傲

( 2 ) achieve one’s dream = realize one’s dream 实现某人梦想

( 3 ) prove 证明、证实

( 4 ) the + 序数词 + 名词 + to do sth
