【课题分析】在单元内容上，围绕“Life is full of the unexpected.”这个主题展开教学活动，讨论出乎意料的事件，语言功能项目为描述过去的经历。

旨在让学生了解生活中发生的事情不是总能预测的，无论发生的事情是好的或坏的, 我们都要保持冷静，想出及时有效的办法解决它。

在语法上综合复习部分时态和状语从句，学习过去完成时态。

在教学结构上，Section A部分以Mary一大早发生的事情为情景导入和角色扮演，承接阅读文章911事件的发生。

Section B部分首先谈论话题最近发生的事情，阅读文章以西方愚人节为主题，增强学生对西方节日文化的了解。

通过选取愚人节中在国外发生的几则事例，训练学生的阅读技巧，同时告诉学生对他人开玩笑要有节有度，切不可随心所欲。

【教学目标】（一）知识目标1.学习掌握新词汇和短语以及相关句型。

2.掌握理解过去完成时态的用法。

3.了解西方愚人节文化的历史背景和节日习俗。

（二）能力目标1. 能够运用过去完成时讲述过去发生的事情。

2. 能够阅读文化类和时事类英语主题文章。

（三）情感目标1.生活中的事情并不总是完美的，尽力解决问题才是消除烦恼的关键。

2.我们应该保持积极乐观、泰然视之的处世心态。

【教学重难点】在分析单元内容和教材结构的基础上，结合学生生活实际，现制定如下教学重点和难点：1.重点：掌握本单元重点词汇、短语句型和过去完成时态的含义及用法。

2.难点：运用阅读技巧，分析理解两篇阅读材料以及巩固拓展材料。

【教学任务】本单元设置多种情境和材料，围绕话题“Life is full of the unexpected.”展开论述，贴近生活具体实践，为的是让学生认识到生活中的许多不确定因素可能会给我们的正常生活带来不必要的麻烦，从而突出强调我们应该以良好的心态去面对意外事件并努力解决这些问题，让自己的生活充满正能量。
