thousand num. 一千
前面可以有one, two等具体数词修饰,这时thousand后不加“-s”。
e.g. There are two thousand students in our school.
thousand的复数形式thousands意为“数千;成千上万的,常和介词of连用,其前不可以受表示具体数字的词修饰。
e.g. There are thousands of buildings in this big city.
用thousand的适当形式填空。

“数词+ quarter(s) of +名词”作主语时,若名词为复数形式,谓语动词用复数形式;若名词为单数形式或不可数名词,谓语动词用单数形式。
