And then I will discuss Environmental pollution from Chinese economic
development, used to illustrate the importance of environmental protection.
1、Energy pollution(firstly)
Chinese economic development is mainly based on the development of heavy
industry, while heavy industry enterprises are pursuing production quantity and scale.
Most of them adopt low-energy cost production methods. The use of energy is not
thorough, and there is no supporting decontamination facilities. The production
behavior is like carrying out energy waste once and again, making China, which is not
rich in energy resources, and faces more problems in resource protection and
environmental control.
2、Air pollution(secondly)
Chinese main energy supply resource is still coal. China is the world's largest
consumer of coal and the world's second-largest consumer of crude oil. The current
air pollution is comparable to that of developed countries in the 1950s and 1960s,
when pollution was at its worst. Air pollution is dominated by soot pollution. The
main pollutants are soot and sulfur dioxide, of which industrial sulfur dioxide
emissions account for about 70%. Among the more than 600 cities in China, less than
1% of the cities whose atmospheric environment quality meets the national first-class
standards; the total suspended particulates and dustfall in the large and medium-sized
cities across the country basically exceed the standards set by the state, which is
destructiveto the health of the Chinese people.
3、Water pollution (what’s more)
Chinese urban water supply faces many problems. According to statistics, there
are about 400 existing water problems in 660 large and medium-sized cities;
one-fourth have reached the warning standards. Groundwater resources have been
gradually polluted, and 20% of water resources have been unable to regenerate into
clean water. All of these water problems are inextricably linked to the sewage in the
production process.
Consequently, the smog is very serious in northern china, and causes respiratory
diseases easily. The pollution increases incidence of cancer. In short, Protect the nature,
care for home. The blue mountains never grow old and the green waters flow on
forever.
