GREETINGGood morning,ladies and gentleman. It’s my honor to have this opportunity to share my teaching ideas with all of you. The title of my lesson is “How is the weather in winter” I’ll show my teaching design in the following 4parts. They are analyses of teaching material, the students, teaching methods and aids, teaching procedures. Please allow me to introduce my lesson plan respectively.Part 1 : The teaching material:Now, let us come to part 1: the teaching material. In this part, I will introduce three aspects.1.Status and function.Fist one is status and function.This lesson is Section A of unit8: How is the weather in winter This unit is the last one of grade 7, including three topics about season, weather and the clothes to wear for the season. This topic is a useful expression which is closely connected to student’s daily life. All the activities in this class are aim to initiate student’s learning interest. At the same time, the target language of this class is the basis for students to learn the other contents of this unit . Therefore, it is very important for students to learn this class well 2.Teaching objectivesSecondly ,teaching objectives.When we attach more importance to the English learning, we should concentrate on cultivating their emotion attitude, values education and abilities in how to study. So I’ve designed three objectives, they are:1)Knowledge objectives:In this section ,ss can use the key phrases to express their favorite season. 2)Ability objectives:In this class, I will focus on student’s abilities of speaking, listening and writing. Making Ss talk about their own topic in English and trying to use the sentence patterns in different situation. It also will help them improve listening skill and communicative competence.3)Moral objectives;Students can talk about their favorite seasons and have good cooperation with other member of one group. This lesson can increase student’s interests of nature. And it also develop students’ listening strategies of guessing meaning from the text and strategies of solving problems through cooperation.3.The teaching important and difficult points.Thirdly is the teaching important and difficult points.The teaching important points will be designed like this:Key words: weather, spring, warm, season, summer, hot, winter, cold,Key sentence patterns: what’s the weather like in…? How is the weather in …? It’s… It’s a good time/season for doing/to do …We can do…1.2Teaching difficult points:The difficulties are expression about how to express the seasons by using the key sentences . Enable students to make a distinction between How and What. And the sentence pattern: it is good to do…it is good ..for doing …So I will try my best to let my students overcome these difficulties through the class I designed.PART 2: Analysis of students.Secondly, I’d like show you the general analysis of students.Students of Grade 7 are around the age of 13 without language atmosphere, but they have strong ability to memorize and imitate, strong desire for knowledge and performance. So in my class, I’ll try my best to make them participate in my activities and give them more chances to speak English, then they’ll feel the joy in learning English. However, some of them are not confident enough in speaking English and are afraid of making mistakes. So one of my teaching aims is to open their mouth and enjoy learning English.PART 3 : the teaching methods and aids .Thirdly,welcome to part 3: the teaching methods and aids .3.1The Task-based teaching method (TBLT) is the main teachingmethod used in my class. I will design different tasks and activities to foster the students’ability to study by their own and give most scope to my students to stimulate their imagination and creativeness.3.2And next, I’d like to use the traditional aids, blackboard, chalk,ppt, pictures and the props(scarf, sunglasses, hat, gloves)which are used in the lead-in.PART 4: Teaching procedures.Here comes the most important part of my speech today; that is the teaching procedures. First, let’s look at the outline briefly. The whole teaching procedures includes: Lead-in;Presentation and practice;Conclusion; The design of assignment;The design of blackboard. First, let’s look at greeting and warming up.4.1 Warm upI will made a self-introduction, this step can close the relationshipbetween students and teacher.4.2Lead-inNext is lead-in, in this step, I’ve designed a scene about that I have a date and I should make up myself , so I let students help me to choose one thing which is suitable for this season. At the same time, I will give students these question :1)If I have a date, which one I should choose? Sun glasses?Hat?..why?2)what’s the weather like today? Lead in the answer: It is hot.3)Why the weather is hot? Because its summer4)How many seasons in one year? What are they?This step can lead in the title and the new words :summer, fall, spring, winter , it also can activate the class atmosphere.4.3 presentation and practiceIn this part, there are four different tasks prepared for the Ss.Task 1Group work. First I will show my students some pictures one by one ,before my showing , let students to guess which one is summer, Then the words shows up, I’d like to lead in reading or pick out a volunteer to lead in reading instead of me . Secondly ,I will ask the question: what’s the weather like in …Find volunteer to answer that. Then I will show the sentences. Finally, I will divide my ss into 2 groups ,group A and group B, so there are some race times in my class to make my class active and also it can attract my students interests. students wouldn’t feel bored.Task2 I will let students to answer the question : what do you often do in summer/winter/fall/ spring? in group. After discussion, find some groups to answer it. Then I will show the vivid pictures and the key sentence , thistask combined with the realsituation of students daily life ,which can cultivate them interesting and improve their communicative ability.Finally , I will show the difference between these sentence patterns ,This step can help students to understand and master this grammar.Task3 ,we will have a listening practice.First ,let students listen to tape and draw lines to match the 1b. After finish the task, check the answer together in group, which means that the tape recorder will be play at second time. This step not only offer a chance for students to practice the shorthand, but also develop their listening strategies of guessing meaning from the text.Task4, it is group work, l will let students make a list and record other member’s self-information, before that I will show the dialogue form. Students share their results in class, This task can cultivate cooperative ability, and achieve good interaction among students.4.4 ConclusionToday, we have learned how to talk about the seasons.4.5 The design of assignment: Write a short passage about 50 words, the topic is which season do you like best? Why, .it also can help my students to recite the new words and grammar ,and also let them close to nature.4.6 The last part of my report is about the blackboard design.In my lesson, I will use both the traditional and modern teaching aids and the blackboard design is like this.In this lesson, firstly, I’ll write the title on the top of the blackboard. There are 2 parts on it. I’ll write down the new or important words on the left part and write the new structures on the right part of the blackboard.
