4 Operating theory
Water ring vacuum pumps are a kind of capacity pump that make change of the capacity size to attain in and out of the air.
Shown in drawing 1, the impeller in pump body in partially the distance of eccentric is e, while impeller cycling(before the pump start, should pour alittle of water into the pump body), because of centrifugal torcing, form arevolving water ring in the pump's wall, the upper part of the water ring interior in contactwith the impeller hub. The water ring should rotate accord-ing to the direction shown by the arrow. During the first half of a revolution, the water ring interior will seperate from the impeller hub gradully, the volume between the vanes will be interior and the gases will there fore be sucked in from the inlet port. During the second half of the revolution, the water ring interior will be near the impeller hub, the volume between the vanes will be reduced gradually, and the gases between the vanes will therefore be compressed and discharged.
The impeller rotates for each revolution, the volumn between the vanes will change once, the water water between each vane will reciprocate once as a piston, the pump will sink the gases constantly, so a level of vacuum condition will be formed.

水环真空泵属容积式泵,即利用容积大小的改变达到吸、排气的目的。
如图1所示,叶轮偏心地装在泵体内,偏心距为e ,当叶轮旋转时(在泵起动前,应向泵内注入少量的水),水爱离心力的作用,而在泵体壁上形成一旋转水环,水环上部内表面与轮毂相切,沿箭头方向旋转,在前半转的过程中,水环内表面逐渐与轮毂脱离,因此在叶轮叶片间形成空间并逐渐扩大,这样就在吸气口吸入空气,在后半转的过程中,水环的内表面渐渐与轮毂靠近,叶片间的空间容积随着缩小,叶片间的空间容积改变一次,每个叶片间的水好像活塞一样往复一次,泵就连续不断地抽吸气体。
