1742020年18期总第510期ENGLISH ON CAMPUS基于主题意义的高中英语单元整体教学文/王本全确保学生能够在讨论的过程中,获取一定的知识点,如Lesson1 modern heroes这一节内容,笔者将问题设计为:Do you knowYang liwei? How do you know this guy? How much do youknow about aerospace?让学生在学习的过程中,围绕这个问题展开讨论,学生自然可以获取更多的知识点。
根据本单元的标题以及各个lesson的内容,我们可以将这个单元的主题确定为:hero。
并将其分解为:modern hero;history makers;sports stars;superhero,其主要讲的是“现代英雄”“历史的创造者”“体育明星”“超级英雄”,为了让学生更加有体验感,教师可以适当地调整教学顺序,即将“history makers”这一内容调整到第一部分,然后再按照顺序进行教学,教材中提及的“history makers”有孙中山、曼德拉、甘地等人,这些人为不同国家的建立都付出了极大的心血,将这一部分提前讲解,能让学生对历史有更加深刻的印象,正是由于这一部分人的努力建立起新的国家、新的制度,才为之后的体育明星、现代英雄以及超级英雄打下了坚实的基础,所以,调整教学顺序在一定程度上调整了学生对知识的认知,从而促进学生对这一单元知识的全新认知;之后,再讲解第一课的内容,让学生了解到中国现代科技的发展,在此过程中,教师可以适当地为学生普及科技发展的重要意义,从而让学生产生民族自豪感;在此基础上,讲解体育明星,让学生了解到随着经济的发展,体育也成为一个国家国力的体现,从而更新学生的意识;最后,讲解superhero。
如此,逐步地讲解知识,让学生的观念有所转变,进而对不同时期、不同领域的heroes有更加明确的认知,从而促进学生的全面发展。
Unit 2 Lesson 1 Modern Heroes一.教材分析本课是第2单元第1课的第1课时,是一节阅读课。
本单元的中心话题是“英雄”,学生会学习到关于英雄的很多种话题,诸如宇航员,历史缔造者,体育明星和电影明星。
本课主要介绍了现代民族英语-----第一位飞天宇航员杨利伟和“神舟5号”任务执行的过程。
课文较简短,理解难度也不大,通过介绍飞天过程复习一般过去时和过去进行时两种时态,并让学生体会宇航员的太空探险和献身精神。
本课在本单元中起着过渡作用,为后面学习更多的英雄人物,更好地理解和体会“英雄”这一概念做铺垫。
二.学情分析1.高一的学生正处于初高中转型阶段,初、高中知识有待衔接,学习方法也很不一样,故心理波动较大,学习较被动,但可塑性较强,学习热情很高。
2.学生对初中阶段的语言知识掌握得较牢固,有一定的听、说、读、写的能力,但自主学习和综合语言运用能力较弱。
3.学生通过前一单元的学习,初步了解了一些听、说、读、写等方面的学习策略,如预测、背景知识、小组活动等。
有了一定的获取信息、处理信息、分析问题和解决问题的能力。
三.教学目标1.语言知识目标:学会与spaceship有关的词汇和短语;更好掌握一般过去时态和过去进行时态。
2.语言技能目标:能理解课文内容和结构,在阅读中运用scanning, skimming, r eading and answering questions等阅读技能;能通过角色扮演说出杨利伟飞天的过程。
3.学习策略目标:学生能在一定程度上形成自主学习的习惯,提高用英语获取信息和处理信息的能力。
4.情感态度目标:能了解人类太空探险家的优秀品质和献身精神;能自觉向英雄学习,逐步形成学好英语的毅力和克服困难的意志;能增强对祖国的自豪感和激发强烈的爱国情怀。

Unit 2 Lesson 1 Modern Heroes福建师范大学高莉莉Good morning, my dear judges. It’s a great honor to be here to share my lesson with you. The lesson I’m going to talk about is Unit 2 Lesson 1 Modern Heroes. And I’ll be ready to begin this lesson from the following five parts, that is, analysis of teaching material, teaching methods, learning methods, teaching procedure and blackboard design.Part Ⅰ Analysis of Teaching MaterialThis is the reading in Unit 2. It’s also a main part in this unit. It concerns about China’s first manned space flight and the national hero—Yang Liwei.By studying this lesson, students will learn some useful expressions and build a sense of national honor. What’s more, the reading material in this lesson enables the students to grasp the skills of reading. Once the students learn it well, it will be a good harvest since reading has a great effect on speaking, writing and so on. On the basis of the New Standard Curriculum and the Syllabus, I set the teaching aims as follows:1. Knowledge Goals(1) To learn the new words and expressions in this lesson.(2) To review the grammar, Past Simple and Past Continuous.(3) To read the text for specific information.2. Also, they should finish exercise 3 on page 22.Purpose of my design: To develop students’ skimming skill, that is, how to get the general idea of a passage as quickly as possible.Activity 2 Scanning (individual work)Encourage students to read the texts again carefully and try to answer those questions listed in exercise 4 page 22.Purpose of my design: To develop students’scanning skill, that is, master the detailed contents of the passage.Activity 3 Further understanding and word study (class work)Listen to the tape recorder and then ask some students to translate the texts sentence by sentence under the teachers’ guidance. When coming across new words and expressions or important sentence patterns, teacher should analyse them carefully. After that, let the students finish exercise 6 and exercise 7 on page 22.Purpose of my design:To help students grasp new words and expressions and understand the texts better. Listen to the tape is also helpful for improving their listening skills.Activity 4 Grammar study (class work)To review the Past Simple and Past Continuous tense. Then finish exercise 10 on page 23. After that, ask students to make sentences using the grammar learned.Purpose of my design: Further consolidating the grammar.Activity 5 V oice your opinion (pair work)Ask students to discuss exercise 11 in pairs.
