Unit16 what’s your middle name?

1：Teaching objectives

引导学生学习一般过去时，重点是规则变化动词的过去式，

以及规则动词过去式的发音规则。句型：Did he

clean his teeth after breakfast?

When did she clean her teeth? I finished the job

last month.

Did you finish the job last month?

2：Language focus:

Middle names, impossible, all the time, unlock,

discuss, talk about, plan, everywhere, key-ring,

silly, silliness, for example, keep

3：Teaching procedure

Part 1: Greeting: 介绍自己，同时要求学生做自我介绍，内容包括 Name, (My name is…or I

am…)Age, (I am …years old or I am a girl or a

boy of …years old)Gender, Hobbies (I like

doing …) 等几个方面。要求:站到讲台上，把自己的名字写出来，通过中文名字来引出中名概念。问

学生昨天干什么来引出过去式。

Warm Up: I see a little bee, sitting on my knee,

looking at the see.(用来学习音标/i:/) Saying:

Hoist sail when the wind is fair.

Part 2: 讲解课文：先听录音回答问题 Where

were Karen’s car keys?

然后学习生词和短语，重点单词：impossible, drive, silliness, 最后做详细讲解。语法重点：一般过去时，要求学生理解并记忆动词过去式。 Part3: 根据课文问问题，要求学生回答，P5，对话练习，做 P9 的选择填空。做 P6

句型练习，句

型为一般过去时的一般疑问句和特殊疑问句。然后两人对练对话，最后再做 P8 书面练习，按照句型来写句子。

Part4:

语音学习，规则动词过去式的发音规则是，以辅音结尾的一般读/t/,以浊辅音结尾的一般读 /d/,t 或者 d 结尾的一般读/id/。讲课过程中把语音学习融入到课堂中去，这部分主要做个总

结。

1：Teaching objectives 继续学习规则变化动词的过去式，语音重音以及规则变化的方式副词。句型：

一、重点单词及拓展

1. borrow, lend的用法

1）borrow, 是把别人东西借给自己，即向里借。

短语：borrow sth. from...

例：We can borrow many books from the library.

2) lend, 是指把自己的东西借给别人，即向外借，后可接双宾语。

结构：lend sth. to sb. 或lend sb. sth.

例：Oscar often lends his school things to his classmates.

=Oscar often lends his classmates his school things.

注意：两个词都是短暂性动词，不能与表示段时间的短语连用。

2. own的用法

1）形容词，自己的，通常与形容词物主代词连用，构成某人自己的。

如my own book 我自己的书 their own feelings 他们自己的感觉

例： I need my own phone to keep in touch with you.

我需要我自己的来和你保持联系。

2）动词，拥有（表示拥有某物的产权，受法律保护）

例：Oscar will own his pany some day. Oscar以后会拥有他自己的公司。

注意：have=have got,指普通的拥有，不涉及产权。

3）代词，自己的（东西）

例：I bought tickets for everyone. You each have your own.

我给所有人都买了票。你们每个人都有自己的（票）。

your own= your own ticket.

拓展：owner, 主人；拥有者

造句练习：

一、重点单词及拓展：

1. name 名词，名字；名称；名义

family name = last name =surname 姓氏

first name 名字

middle name 中名

first name + (middle name) = given name 名字（除姓氏以外的其他字）

例： James Barett Reston 詹姆斯·巴瑞特·雷斯通

first name middle name family name(last name)

动词，命名；叫做

例：Do you know the boy named Tony? 你认识那个叫做Tony的男孩吗？

2. wrong 形容词，错误的；有毛病的；不适当的

对应词：right, 正确的

例：Your answer is wrong , please correct it. 你的答案错了，改一下。

常用语：What’s wrong? = What’s wrong with...?...怎么了？

例：You look unhappy, what’s wrong with you?

你看上去不太开心，怎么了？

3. possible 形容词，可能的 impossible 不可能的

常用短语：as soon as possible 尽可能快地，通常放在句子最后。

例：Please come here as soon as possible. 请尽快来这。

结构：It is possible（impossible）to do sth. 做某件事是可能的/不可能的

例：It is possible to get to Beijing in one hour. 一小时内到达北京是可能的。
