英语课程标准按照能力水平设为九个级别，本模块为选修九的内容，在课程标准中属于完成八级的教学任务。
通过本模块的教学学生初步感知遗传学的概念，接触有关词汇并通过课堂上听说读写的训练，达到提高语言综合运用能力的目的。
采用任务型教学模式，根据课程标准中八级的要求，教师设计科学合理的任务，学生在任务的驱动下通过感知、体验、实践、参与和合作等方式，实现任务的目标，促进语言实际运用能力的提高。
2、教材分析
本模块介绍了关于DNA的研究现状、最新成果并对未来这一高科技领域的发展进行展望,进一步激发学生探索生命科学的兴趣,培养学生团结协作的科学素养,帮助学生辨证思考转基因、克隆等高科技发展可能给人类带来的益处和负面效应以及相应的道德挑战.
本节课主要学习Introduction和ReadingandVocabulary(1)
通过introduction的热身训练学生初步感知遗传学的概念，接触相关词汇，为下一步的阅读打下基础。

GM crops may affect the environment by producing chemicals or carcinogens. I think GM food is not safe, and it may have side effects. So I am in favor of banning GM food.
