Unit 9 What does he look like?

Period 1 Section A(1a-2d)繁昌县田家炳中学 柏树生

The analysis of the material:

This is the first period of Section A, Unit9 and it mainly talks about how to describe people’s looks. What

students will learn connects with their daily life closely, so it is useful to learn the words and structure.

The analysis of the students:

All the students in junior middle school are teenagers and they are in the process of growing up, so they are

interested in describing people’s looks.

Knowledge objectives:

new words : tall, short, heavy, thin, medium height, medium build, glasses, straight, curly, cinema,

tonight, later

key sentences: What does he/she look like?

He/She is… He/She is of…

He has… He/She wears…

Ability objectives:

Students learn to describe people’s looks.

Emotion and attitude objectives:

Don’t judge a person by his looks.

Find his /her own advantages and work hard to achieve his/her dreams.

Teaching important and difficult points:

How to describe people’s looks.

Use two pictures from the

answers. 通过动画片活跃气氛;而且“大头儿子,小头爸爸”外貌形成鲜明对比,刚好导入新课。

把本课所学生词串联成意思相关联的句子,用来描述来自动画片的两幅截图,为学生学习生词提供真实的语境;同时通过跟读,拼读,帮助学生掌握生词的正确发音和拼写。

将所学的生词和短语再现运用,及时巩固所学的生词和短语。
