Welcome to Geriatric Ward of PUMC,we are glad to meet you,I’m the teacher here,my name is wangfei,now let me introduce the ward to you. there are three kinds of subjects with 40 beds here ,including nerology,gerontology and incretion.
let me show you aroud the ward, this is Therapy Room for preparing for the treatment to the patient. This is Nurse Station where nurses work on recording about nursing documents, dealing with orders from dortors and so on. This is doctors’ office where they have meetings an d the nurse and the doctor on duty will report the situation happened last night in order to make others pay attention to their main job.
This is disposition Room for depositing something in case in need. This is multipurposed room, as you see, you can throw the garbage here and medical garbage in the yellow barrel. This is the rest room for nurses and doctors.
The patients come from Outpatient Clinic or Emergency Depatment,then are settled to different subject according to his typical symptom. There are at least two patients in per room, and there is a cabinet and a bedtable for every bed. Everyday the care worker will clean the room for the patients.if you need any help about your life here,you can ask the care worker for help,such sa change your clothes and if you need and help about your health,you can ring the bed bell,the nurses will come as quickly as possible to meet your demands. The patient can order a meal in hospital or the family bring it from outside. Pantryman will come to bring the meal in time and ask what you want to order in next meal.
Cleaners is responsible for maintain the cleaning of the ward. Wherever and whenever need him, he will be there for you.Care workers mainly make bed for the patients and provide clean clothes for the patients if they need.
In order to reduce the chance that patients can get infection and ensure they can rest well,we rule that the visit time is from 3pm to 7pm,what’s more,the less visitors the better.
There are one head nurse,X doctors,X nurses,X care workers and X cleaner in our ward.we word 5 days in a week,and the head nurse supervise and co-ordinate the activities of nurses, arrange the schedule and convey the important information and so on.we all try to provide professional nursing care and serrvices to patients with the objective of achieving the highest clinical and service standars.we are guided by high standards in every nuring process to meet the patients’ demand.
