分析

本话题围绕客机发明展开,由康康的火箭模型引入火箭在航天中的作用,今儿涉及克隆等科技发明及其用途,最后以现代发明的典型代表---机器人和GPS定位系统结尾。本话题的主要语法为一般过去时的被动语态。

学情

分析

学生经过两年多的阅读策略训练已经初步掌握略读、扫读等阅读策略,但是对于猜测词义、细节理解及主旨大意理解等尚存在困难,因此根据学生实际在巩固原有技能的基础上继续训练其它技能。

1.复习过去时被动语态的用法,学生能够通过阅读故事,以给出词义及首字母、回答问题等形式猜测出较难或陌生词汇:、 servant, for

2.学生在阅读过程中能利用句子间的逻辑关系理清事件的顺序。

3.通过小组合作设计一个机器人,理解与运用“科技更好地服务与人类”并写成一篇短文关于本组设计的机器人。

2.讨论怎样使机器人更好滴服务人类,培养学生的科学探究精神。

Step 1 Review

Ask and answer between the teacher and students.The teacher

shows pictures of MP3 players,computers,robots and so

on.Offer some information:MP3 player (1998,listen to

music…),computer(in America,search information…)…And

then let students talk about these inventions with the sentence

patterns”be invented” and “be used for “ to review the usage

of the simple past passive voice. For example:

T: When was the MP3 player invented?

S1:The first MP3 player was invented in 1998 in Korea. It’s

used for listening to music.MP3 players can relax you .But

they may also hurt your ears.

T:Where was the computer invented?

进行预读教学前先激发学生的阅读兴趣,使学生产生强烈的阅读欲望。

S2:The first computer was invented in America. It’s used for

searching puters make the world become

smaller. But they may cause sore eyes.

T:When was the first robot invented?

S3:The first robot was invented in 1921.

T:What can robots do for us?

S4:They can take the place of humans to do hard or boring

work in some situations

T: Yes. You are right. Most people think that robots will be

part of our lives, but will they be servants forever? Will they

be friendly or unfriendly?Let’s come into Section C.

Step 2 Presentation

The teacher shows some pictures or plays videos of a

robot.Introduces its development from artificiality to

intelligence and leads to 1a.

1. Let students have a holistic understanding of 1a after

skimming it.Answer the question:What will our future be

like?

(No one knows for certain,but most people think that robots

will be part of our lives.)The teacher writes the answer down

on the blackboard,underlines the phrase “for certain”,and

then asks students to master it.

2. Let students read the article carefully and answer the

following questions.Write down the word”servant” on the

blackboard and explain it in English. Ask students to

master it.

(1) Have robots caused us any problem so far?

(2) Robots work for us like servants all the time,don’t they?

(3) What is the scientist’s worry?

在真实的情境和语境中教授词汇,可加深学生记忆,利用构词法或同义词学习词汇,帮助学生掌握记忆单词的技能从而扫清阅读障碍;在练习中,融入竞争意识,奖励机制,可以大大调动学生学习积极性。 Step 3 Consolidation

Step 4 Practice(After reading)

The teacher shows a picture of the X-ray machine, makes a

summary and leads to 2.Let students listen to the tape and fill

in the blanks. Understand the new word and phrase

阅读后进一步培养学生阅读能力及技巧,帮助学生在阅读中学会归纳概括文章的能力,巩固本节课重要词汇;并且继续采用奖励机制要求学生趁热打铁复述文章,全面系统地了解并记忆文章的内容。

Step 5 Project(Group work)

1. Work in groups. Divide students into severval groups to

discuss how to make science and technology serve

humans better and report the results of the discussions to

the class.

2. Design a robot in groups

(1) Divide students into several groups to design a robot

(2) Write a short passage according to the questions of 3 to

introduce the robot you have designed. Finish3

小组合作学习可以降低任务的难度,增强学生的自信心,通过交流渗透情感教育,使学生明白困难不可怕,一定要正确的对待。本节课的知识点也在无形中融入到会话练习中,同时融入竞争意识,调动学生学习积极性。
