大学生英语学习现状的调查及改善措施的探究摘要:英语是高校教学的必修课程,教学持续时间也较长,大学期间学生面临各种考试,学好英语对每个人的将来大有裨益。
本文以我校在校大学生为调研对象,通过问卷调查等方法,对其英语学习现状进行调查与分析,找出存在的问题,并提出改善现状的具体措施。
关键字:大学英语学习现状调查一、引言众所周知,英语是当今世界主要的国际通用语言之一,学好英语对将来的工作和生活有很大益处,但如今大学生的英语能力普遍没有达到当今经济和商务社会所需要的真正的能力,其学习英语的现状比较令人担忧。
二、调查方法和内容(一)调查方法1、文献法。
在网上和图书馆搜集各种有关本课题的文献资料,从中选取相关信息进行整理归纳和分析研究。
2、问卷调查法。
本次调研采用抽样调查的方法,对商学院、信息工程学院、机电学院等五个学院的部分学生进行问卷调查。
已发放问卷500份,回收问卷490份,问卷回收率达到98%。
问卷式题型为单项或多项选择题,给出备选答案学生选择。
3、访谈法。
选取部分优秀学生进行访谈,交流学习经验;与英语老师进行交流,获得更多的知识和建议。
(二)调查内容本次调查的主要内容为我校09、10级大学生学习英语的各个方面,例如学习英语的动机、时间、计划、消费,学习成绩等方面。
三、调查结果初步分析1、性别分析在490份有效问卷中,男生150份,女生340份。
2、对英语学习的兴趣据调查显示, 74%的同学对学习英语有兴趣,18%的学生因为不得不学,其余8%没兴趣。
从中可以看出我校大学生学习英语兴趣比较大,而且并不会因为专业的不同而存在较大差异,只是有时迫于时间零散和学习环境的轻松而变得散漫。
但还是有26%的学生由于基础较差、参加其他活动较多等原因学习英语的兴趣不高,。
3、学习英语的目的(多选)调查显示,将近87.2%的学生认为英语是得到”一份好工作”的通行证;84.7%的学生是为了获得英语四六级证书;72.3%的学生则是为了满足课程教学;还有60.9%是为了考研,取得高学历,进而找到好工作。

2、调查结果分析-----学生的英语学习需求整体情况分析A、学生对英语教师的需求主要有以下几个方面:a、教师的基本功要扎实知识要渊博,教师要严而有道,以身作则;b、希望教师采用灵活多变的教学方法;c、希望和教师建立良好的师生关系由此可见,学生对英语教师的语言基本功、知识水平、教学方法方面、有着相当高的要求;学生希望老师在教学过程中以身作则,树立榜样;学生更喜欢老师经常激励他们;同时学生期待与老师建立良好的师生关系。
B、.学生对教材的需求主要有以下几个方面:a、希望教师在教学过程中教学内容不要固定在教材本身,要及时补充鲜活的内容;b、希望教材内容能有助于提高他们的交际能力。
通过调查我们发现学生对教材的内容的真实性、实用性、趣味性、知识性和教材对交际能力的培养的要求很高。
教师在教材的选择和使用上应注意趋利而避弊,在固定教材上增补一些新的教学材料。
另外,固定教材容易使教材的内容过时,不能反映外语。
实际的现状,并且还会造成教材的难度与学生实际水平脱节的现象授课时和班级过大等因素的限制,如何充分利。
C、学生对学习策略的需求通过调查我们发现有:小部分学生还不能有效地使用适合自己的英语学习策略;大部分学生认为教师对学生进行英语学习策略培训有必要,还有一部分学生能够经常反思自己的英语学习,探索适合自己的学习方法,但效果不理想,希望求助于英语教师。

由此可以看出学生对高教英语教学质量的认可度远远低于社会培训机构。
究其原因:大多数学生认为高等学校教师教学缺乏明确目的性和针对性,没有轻重之分,教学形式枯燥无味,教师自身水平不够理想,特别是年轻教师缺乏教学经验以及教学方法缺乏灵活性等等。
而对社会英语培训机构的看法却相反,认为其教学有针对性,有明确的目的性,教师较专业并经验丰富,教学水平一般较高。
3、从学生的学习精神状态来讲,认为在社会英语培训机构的学习精神状态更好的占58%,而认为在校内学习精神状态更好的仅占12%。

在随机调查的50位同学中,只有22%位同学呈现出乐观心态,注重说与读,因为他们觉得学习语言重要是语感,语言本来就在于交流沟通之用,能说出来就行,又只用通过读来培养语感就行,所以他们觉得英语学习还算轻松,闲暇时间经常会听听英语歌,下电影时也会偏向于下音质好,有助于联系口语的,他们乐在其中。

4. 学习方法:大多数学生通过多种渠道进行英语学习,包括课堂学习、自主学习、英语角、参加培训班等。
其中,课堂学习是主要的学习渠道,自主学习也占了很大比例。
由于大学英语教学中注重培养学生的听说读写能力,受访者普遍认为听说能力是他们英语学习的重点。
5. 面临的困难:调查结果显示,大学生英语学习面临的主要困难包括缺乏英语学习的兴趣和动力、应试教育模式的限制、英语学习的时间和环境限制以及缺乏学习方法的指导等。
此外,还有部分学生感觉英语学习难度较大,自身学习能力不足。
结论:通过本次调查可以得出结论,大学生英语学习的动机主要集中在就业需求和个人兴趣上。
他们希望通过掌握英语来提升自身竞争力和拓宽职业发展的空间。
多数学生对英语学习持积极态度,并通过多种渠道进行学习。
大学生英语学习情况调查研究与分析---基于通识学院2018级学生的问卷调查分析近年来我国外语教学界对影响第二语言学习诸多因素中的学习者因素予以越来越多的关注。
学生因素包括认知因素,情感因素等,这些因素直接影响着大学英语教学的效果。
为了全面客观地掌握我院大一新生的英语学习现状,本研究采用问卷调查的方式对通识学院2018级学生进行了调查与分析,旨在了解我校大学生英语学习的现状和存在的问题,为我校大学英语教学改革提供客观依据,探索大学英语教学新模式,从而提高我校大学英语教学质量,培养具有全球视野的国际性人才。
一、问卷调查的统计和分析本调查以问卷的方式在本学期初进行,范围涵盖2018级本科所有非英语专业大一新生,共回收853份有效问卷,保证了调查的广泛性和代表性。
调查问卷设计共20个题目,含英语学习动机,英语学习方法,教学方法,教学模式,教学材料等内容。
(一)学生的基本信息情况从专业类别、生源地、性别、高考生源类别等方面设计了四个问题。
其统计结果如表1。

从学生的生源地来看,山东省考生占有最大比例,达86.05%,河南考生占2.7%,内蒙古考生占0.23%,其他省份共占11.02%,这说明我校生源还是省内学生为主;女生(53.58%)参与调查的比例稍高于男生(46.42%),整体还算平衡;高考生源类别一项,普通高中毕业的学生居多,达74.56%,其他生源的比例相对较少。

二、具体分析:
此次调查的目的是为了了解大学生的英语学习现状以及当前高等学校英语教学效果与社会英语培训机构教学效果之比较,为高等学校英语教学体制改革提供现实依据和具体建议。
此次调查采取多阶抽样方法,即从沈阳的各类社会英语培训机构中随机抽取了其中的雷式外语
四、六辅导班。
其中样本总量为100,共发出问卷100份,回收100份。
回收率为100%,随机抽取样本个体,其所反映的具体情况具有很强的代表性。
此次对大学生英语学习的调查结果显示:绝大多数大学生对学习英语的兴趣不大,导致学习的态度和积极性欠佳;高等教育
的英语教学质量与英语社会培训结构相比在学生认可程度上后者优与前者。
具体情况显示如下:
1、认为学习英语是为了适应社会需求的学生占52%,以应付考试的占38%,而出于兴趣学习英语的仅占10%由上数据可以看出大多数学生英语并非出于兴趣或爱好,而是社会所趋,比如英语四级证书与学位证挂钩,以后走上社会求职英语四级证是一道门槛等等此类。
2、认为高教英语教学质量一般的同学占63%,认为良好的占7%,认为不好的占30%。
而相对应地,认为社会英语培训机构教学效果一般的占34%,认为良好的占54%,而不好的仅占12%。
由此可以看出学生对高教英语教学质量的认可度远远低于社会培训机构。
究其原因:大多数学生认为高等学校教师教学缺乏明确目的性和针对性,没有轻重之分,教学形式枯燥无味,教师自身水平不够理想,特别是年轻教师缺乏教学经验以及教学方法缺乏灵活性等等。
而对社会英语培训机构的看法却相反,认为其教学有针对性,有明确的目的性,教师较专业并经验丰富,教学水平一般较高。
3、从学生的学习精神状态来讲,认为在社会英语培训机构的学习精神状态更好的占58%,而认为在校内学习精神状态更好的仅占12%。
一样好的占29%,且认为导致上述情况的原因是由于校内老师的教学方法有问题的学生占54%,学习目的问题占41%。
由此可以看出在学习精神状态上高教英语教学也逊于社会培训机构。
要提高英语技能,自学和参加培训机构是两种主要方式。
但因为各种原因,各位同学的英语自学能力不是很理想,在一家知名英语教育机构的调查报告中,高达61%的人平时基本不阅读任何英语读物;每周阅读10小时以上的只有1%。
另外,75%的人基本不使用英语写作;偶尔写写的仅有18%。
可见,仅靠自学很难养成英语学习习惯,更不用说得到良好的学习效果了。
在我们学习英语的自觉性不高的情况下,到培训机构“补一课”无疑成为了提高英语技能的一个重要途径。
可尽管如此,由我们的调查数据得,在所调查的学生中,只有近20%的学生曾经参加过校外英语培训,其人数甚至不足所调查学生总人数的1/4。
由此可见,校外英语培训在大学生,至少是在大
一、大二学生中还不是分热门。
我想,其原因大概与校外英语培训机构的收费有一定关系。
我在网上曾看到过一则消息,在沈阳落户的多思国际英语学校,学一级英语竟需7480元!尽管它是一所全新模式的英语学校,可仍让人惊讶于它学费的昂贵。
当然这么昂贵的学费是少见的,但不可否认,大多数英语培训机构的收费对于大学生来说,支付起来仍有一定的困难。
毕竟,大学生,尤其是大
一、大二学生,大多数人是没有独立的经济能力的。
综合上述情况我们不难总结出现行高等学校英语教学面临的四大难题:(1)如何以一种有效的方法提高学生在校内的英语学
习兴趣和精神状态,如何树立校内教学在学生心目中的威望。
(2)如何摆正学生的学习心态提高校内课堂教学对学生的吸引力。
(3)教学质量、教学方法存在一定问题,应如何改进和加强师资队伍是一个亟待解决的问题。
(4)如何让广大英语教师树立竞争意识也是至关重要的,社会英语培训机构之所以能有如此好效果其中很大程度上表现为竞争意识较强,因此学校对英语教师奖惩制度的完善至关重要。
三、结论:
针对上述情况,建议高等教育机构在英语教学过程中可以适当增加一些英语学习的趣味性方法以充分调动学生学习积极性增强师生互动。
比如开展英语游戏,观看英语电影,在课堂上增强学生动口能力及多给于学生表现机会以增强学生自信心。
