The wedding custom in my hometown
As for wedding custom of my hometown –YuLin, I have no clear concept about it. Until the year before last, my elder sisiter hold a wedding ceremony, it was so grand event that the whole family took it seriously, every member tried our utmost to make it perfect. I learned so much about the wedding custom. I will introduce some culture to us.
In my hometown, the single man and woman who fell in love have mind to get married, at this stage, both families begin going to action. There have three investigations for them to do. Primaly, both of them inqure into “men se”, which is called body odor in modern society. Then ,we have to ask their ‘人气’,which is invoved in their moral quality. the last one is to investgate whether theirthe date of birth and the eight characters of a horoscope is coincidence. These three ceremony seems so complicated ,however, especially the first is so significant to each other.
If both are satisfied, next, they have an engagement. The date of wedding decided, then we will hold the wedding .the bridegroom lead escort troops to pick up the bride, the
bride’relatives, friends can lock door ,so the bridegroom can’nt come until he throw many red packets, as he meet his wife, the women’ family send a team togo to the bride's home to escort bride back to the wedding.
As far as I can see , the wedding custom in my hometown is so interesting and
alive ,perhaps ,there have been some superstition .i think they are only best wishes from parents, who expect their daughter or son have a happy perfect life.。
