"Go check out the ice while we go back and get the goal." I can remember my teenage friends saying that as they dropped me off by the edge of Fresh Pond in Fort Salonga. Growing up on Long Island in the 1960s and 1970s, my friends and I couldn't wait for school break between Christmas and the new year.It was time to get out the ice skates and play hockey. Back then, in December, many ponds and lakes would freeze. One of my favorites was Blanchard Lake in Northport, or what we called "the cove." It would get too crowded, though, so we'd go to Centerport's Mill Pond, which looked like deep water, but it wasn't.Back to that morning when I was dropped off at Fresh Pond. My friends and I realized that we forgot to bring the goal to shoot the puck(冰球)into,so while they went back, I was going to test the ice. I started along the edge and felt it was solid. We had just had a cold snap(寒流)for a few days,so I didn't think there would be any problem. As I risked farther out, the ice got clearer, and it was exciting to see underwater plants under the ice.Suddenly, I heard a massive cracking sound that seemed to be all around me. I instinctively bent to my knees to not break through the ice like a straight torpedo (鱼雷).It was too late Before I knew it, I was in the water with just my head sticking out and my arms waving while still holding my hockey stick. No one was around except one person at the far end of the pond who couldn't hear my cries for help.I was short of breath while trying to solve my crisis.Paragraph 1:Using all my strength, I hammered the cutting edge of my stick into the ice ahead of me.Paragraph 2:The danger, however, wasn't over.Paragraph 1:Using all my strength, I hammered the cutting edge of my stick into the ice ahead of me.It worked, for a while. As I struggled to climb back up, the sound of a crack pierced through my ears and heart. Holding the stick tightly, I froze, icy currents numbing my body and washing my hope away. Everysecond past was a torture with the sensation of my extremities robbed by the cold. Finally, at the moment when I began to lose consciousness and grip of the stick, I heard the most wonderful sound, my friends calling my name.Paragraph 2:The danger, however, wasn't over. After I responded with my trembling voice, they carefully walked towards me. Yet the pressure that came with approaching steps become the last straw. With a loud crack, the stick fell and my heart sank. Unwilling to surrender, I squeezed however infinitesimal strength I had in me and swam towards my friends while they lay on the ground, feet in hands, with my friend at front reaching dangerously and desperately out for me. On that coldest day of my life, I was lucky enough to have caught the warmest thing—my friend’s hand.Paragraph 1:Using all my strength, I hammered the cutting edge of my stick into the ice ahead of me.(首段剧情根据两句提示语决定首尾。

When he was a child, Mike often got sick and had few friends. His parents often encouraged him to do more sports. As he grew up, he became interested in mountain climbing. When he was 14, he climbed his first mountain—a 3,600-foot peak. And at that time, he was a bit overweight and breathless when he reached the summit. But he was hooked by the challenge of conquering bigger mountains. Since then, he’d climbed nearly 50 peaks and met many friends. He usually went climbing with his friend David, whom he met while climbing a mountain. Two years ago, on November 28, when he was 16, Mike and David drove to Oregon to challenge Mount Hood —11,130 feet. Both of them were prepared. Starting winter climbing at night is safer because there’s less risk of the sun melting the snow. That day, they started at 2 a.m., following trails along the ski runs. The temperature was about 8 degrees, and they wore easy layers that they could easily take off, knowing hiking in the snow would keep them warm. After about 4 hours, they reached Devil’s Kitchen, a plain at about 10,000 feet, just before the final push to the peak. However, the wind conditions here were poor. Mike’s exposed skin felt as though it were burning, but David and Mike were not discouraged and kept ahead. They were prepared and longing for the climb. The trail they followed grew narrower and steeper. At around 8 a.m., they reached a patch (小块) of ice called an ice step. It was about three or four feet tall and sloped (倾斜) at a 70-degree angle.Mike volunteered to go first. He placed his right foot on the ice step. When he set his foot on it, it remained good. Confident he was safe, he put all his weight on it. Suddenly, he heard a crack, and a whole slab (片) of ice broke off the step, right under his foot.注意:1. 续写词数应为150左右;2. 请按如下格式作答。
