题目提供的第一段首句尾but no more helicopters came and it was getting dark again。
Jane had to stay alone in the forest for another cold night.
Jane tried to find a shelter from the night cold.

Mike licked the last of the mint chocolate chip ice cream. It was almost time to leave. He jumped into the car with his parents and headed off to the Olympic-sized pool for the big swim meet. When his race came up, Mike was confident. He was strong and swift. Mike climbed out the pool, smiling. He had just won first place, making him the fastest boy in his age group."Congratulations, son," his father said. His mom gave him a hug, even though he was soaking wet.A week later, it was time for another swim meet. Like before, Mike decided to enjoy his favorite ice cream flavor. Mike remembered that the last time he had won a race, he also ate mint chocolate chip ice cream first. Maybe he'd win again. He’s taken first place again in his race. Mike was feeling pretty good. As it turned out, Mike decided to have some mint chocolate chip Ice cream before every one of the next few swim meets. He began to think of it as his lucky charm. After several months of placing in the top positions of every race he swam, Mike was feeling unbeatable. And he wouldn’t admit it, but all that ice cream was adding a few pounds to his athletic swimmer's build. It didn’t take long after that for Mike to start coming in second place-and then third-and then last place in his races. The lucky mint chocolate chip ice cream had lost its magic. On the day of his next swim meet, his mother sat down at the table with him. “Mike, we all loveice cream, but it's not healthy for your body to eat so much of it. Maybe it's time to quit the sweet treats for a while, especially before you go swimming.Mike unwillingly agreed. He went to the swim meet, and didn’t perform well. His father offered to go running with him a few days a week to help him feel better and strengthen his muscles. The extra weight soon disappeared, and Mike found himself breathing easier at swim practices. It was the last meet of the season, and Mike wasn’t sure what to expect. He felt healthy again, but he didn’t know if he still had any speed in the pool. Paragraph1 :As he drove into the water, he kicked his legs and stretched his arms as far as he could.Paragraph2 :His jaw dropped as he realized he had beaten his own best time, and everyone else too.第一步:Analyze the story:5Rs1. 2025年高考英语专题复习—读后续写作基本技法(2021·新高考Ⅰ卷)A MOTHER’S DAY SURPRISEThe twins were filled with excitement as they thought of the surprise they were planning for Mother’s Day. How pleased and proud Mother would be when they brought her breakfast in bed. They planned to make French toast and chicken porridge. They had watched their mother in the kitchen. There was nothing to it. Jenna and Jeff knew exactly what to do.The big day came at last. The alarm rang at 6 a.m. The pair went down the stairs quietly to the kitchen. They decided to boil the porridge first. They put some rice into a pot of water and left it to boil while they made the French toast. Jeff broke two eggs into a plate and added in some milk. Jenna found the bread and put two slices into the egg mixture. Next, Jeff turned on the second stove burner to heat up the frying pan. Everything was going smoothly until Jeff started frying the bread. The pan was too hot and the bread turned black within seconds. Jenna threw the burnt piece into the sink and put in the other slice of bread. This time, she turned down the fire so it cooked nicely. Then Jeff noticed steam shooting out of the pot and the lid starting to shake. The next minute, the porridge boiled over and put out the fire. Jenna panicked. Thankfully, Jeff stayed calm and turned off the gas quickly. But the stove was a mess now. Jenna told Jeff to clean it up so they could continue to cook the rest of the porridge. But Jeff’s hand touched the hot burner and he gave a cry of pain. Jenna made him put his hand in cold water. Then she caught the smell of burning. Oh dear! The piece of bread in the pan had turned black as well.
A bright red cloud enveloped the animal ,该句中的enveloped 可以结合上下文,猜出它的含义大致为surround sb. or sth. completely 。
三、如何应用这两大手法下面通过一个例子来清楚地展示同一个场景,两种不同的叙述方式,大家看看哪一种更能获得阅卷老师的好感呢?1.She pushed the door open and saw her mother sitting in the room sadly.2.Opening the door slowly and carefully, she caught sight of her mother, who sat motionlessly with her eyes staring blankly into space and tears rolling down her cheeks.
My sister Jeanne and I were born only 14 months apart, and we once shared many happy moments. She liked telling jokes to me and I would laugh heartily. She always said she loved my laughter and it's the mostimpressive sound for her. But by the time we were teenagers we had years without speaking and lost touch due to family breaking. By age 19, I had moved away from our home in Wisconsin to live on my father's horse farin Virginia. Jeanne got married at 20, moved to Chicago, and became ——well, I didn't know what. We lived separate lives in separate states, and our connection somehow ended.Fast-forward about five years. I was 24 and on a trip with my best friend to New York City, a place I had never been to. It was so different from my hometown. I was used to riding my horse to the corner store where everyone knew everyone and everything went on in the quiet little cowboy town of Driver, Virginia. We went to New York to visit my friend's cousin and see the sights. We went to Little Italy, the Statue of Liberty, Chinatown and several Manhattan clubs. I had never seen so many taxis in one spot in all my life.During a day of sightseeing, we were crossing a very busy street loaded with people. Everyone was in a hurry. I was laughing at something my friend just said, and then I suddenly heard my name yelled from somewhere behind me: “Cheryl! ”The voice was so familiar. I froze in my steps in the middle of the road. Tears welled spontaneously(不由自主地)in my eyes. knew without shadow of doubt that it was my sister Jeanne. I yelled back before even turning to look. “Jeanne?”It was her. "Oh my!" I screamed, and began pushing people out of my way to get to her. The crowd started to part even by New York standards, we must have seemed crazy. And there we were, standing in the middle of Manhattan street, facing each other and smiling. I couldn’t believe it. Paragraph 1:I later asked how she'd known it was me.Paragraph 2:Since that time, my sister and I have never been separated.

Ring a BellMs. Tracy looked up from her yellow notebook and cleared her throat. The noise in the class died down as we turned toward her. "We're going to help a charity to collect money by ringing a bell. Each of you will ring it for four hours," she announced. As the words left her lips, complaints could be heard around the room. Unwillingly, I dug for my planner and look notes. Four hours of ringing a stupid bell. Four hours that I could be studying for the SAT. Was this supposed to be a joke? I joined the students around the table and signed up for 1he first day of break-to get it overwith.A few weeks later, I was standing next to the big blue-and-white Walmart. There was another guy holding a jar across from me. Great, I was going to be stuck here ringing a bell with a guy who was trying to get donations for another charity. To top it off, it was only about 4.4℃.Slowly, I put on the red dress bearing the symbol of ow charity. I hoped that I already spent two minutes doing that, Ring! Ring! A group of older women came up with their walking sticks to drop in some change. А man with а broad-cimmеd bat came by and put some coins in. I checked my phone. Just 10 minutes had passed.A strong bitterly-cold wind blew against my freezing face. I was starting to regret ignoring my mom's advice to wear a scarf. I looked up, wishing that time would pass more quickly. A few birds swept around the poles. The sky was gently blue. Palm trees waved in the cold wind. How comfortable it might be to curl(蜷缩)up with a hot cup of tea and a book on the cozy sofa. Then another ring brought me back to reality. From the parking lot stepped out a poorly-dressed man, walking with difficulty toward me._______________________________________________________________________________ ______________________________________________________Inspired by his generosity, I continued to ring my bell happily._______________________________________________________________________________ ______________________________________________________【答案】From the parking lot stepped out a poorly-dressed man, walking with difficulty toward me. I saw his unbalanced shoulders and awkward figure. His hair was a mess and his shirt was dirty. I stopped ringing the bell, wondering what he was going to do. He pulled some change out of his worn pocket and reached towards the bucket. I couldn't help but say, "Thank you, sir." He turned to smile. The money he donated was not a lot, but it was clearly a lot to him. This act of charity, though not much, was worth so much more than donations given by those who were better off.

Recently I graduated from high school, and as a gift I received a huge hunch of flowers, 40 to be exact! I had so many that I didn't know what to do with them. The next weekend my niece and nephew, Sue and Mike, aged 6 and 7, came and suddenly I had an idea. I might let them give out these flowers to people they met on the street, and in this way they could learn how to be friendly to others. So I told them about my plan and explained that these flowers would make people feel happyand smile. They loved the idea and were eager to have a try. So at once we took every single flower and tied a smile card to it. We then went to the street with the flowers. The first flower went to a policeman. As soon as she saw the policeman, my niece ran up to him and handed him a flower. His smile was so big, but hers was even bigger! In no time, we neared the end of our flowers. It was lunch time and we went to Subway for lunch. There the kids gave a flower to the waitress, who was really excited to receive the flower. As we were eating our lunch, the waitress came up to the kids with two big chocolate cookies! She said the chocolate cookies were for them and that she really liked the flower! As they ate the cookies, my niece and nephew looked at me with the biggest smiles I had ever seen.

On a bright, warm July afternoon, Mac Hollan, a primary school teacher, was cycling from his home to Alaska with his friends. One of his friends had stopped to make a bicycle repair, but they had encouraged Mac to carry on, and they would catch up with him soon. As Mac pedaled (骑行) along alone, he thought fondly of his wife and two young daughters at home. He hoped to show them this beautiful place someday. Then Mac heard quick and loud breathing behind him. “Man, that’s a big dog!” he thought. But when he looked to the side, he saw instantly that it wasn’t a dog at all, but a wolf, quickly catching up with him.Mac’s heart jumped. He found out his can of bear spray. With one hand on the bars, he fired the spray at the wolf. A bright red cloud enveloped the animal, and to Mac’s relief, it fell back, shaking its head. But a minute later, it was by his side again. Then it attacked the back of Mac’s bike, tearing open his tent bag. He fired at the wolf a second time, and again, it fell back only to quickly restart the chase(追赶).Mac was pedaling hard now.
