活动一 教材Activity 1(教学目的:通过PPT展示新单词,为下面的学习做铺垫)(详见光盘课件)

1.学习新单词:本单元的新单词较多,通过直观的PPT学习单词,可以激发学生的学习兴趣。

2.让学生与同桌谈论Activity 1的图片,为后面的活动做准备。

There is too much noise in the street. The population

is becoming larger and larger.

We won't have enough space to live in. Too many cars bring traffic problems and air

pollution.

活动二 教材Activity 4(教学目的:锻炼学生用简单的英文解释单词的能力)

1.理解题干:让学生明白Activity 4的目的(1分钟的时间),然后自己仔细阅读所给的8个句子(3分钟)。

2.个人答题:给学生5分钟的时间完成题目。 2 3.同伴互测:5分钟之后,与同伴核对答案。将与自己答案不同的题目做出标记,先讨论然后确定答案,如果两人答案不统一,可以向老师求助。(这样做既调动了学生学习的积极性,又体现了合作性)

突破一 教材Activity 3

1.预习检查:检查学生课前对对话的预习情况,主要包括:生词、重点短语是否在教材中标注;不理解的地方是否有问号体现。此活动由各小组长检查,教师巡视,时间3分钟。

2.播放磁带录音,设置几个简单的问题,锻炼学生听的能力。如:

(1)What is the big problem in many countries now?

(2)How many babies are born every minute in the world?

3.学生大声朗读对话5分钟,完成后面的笔记。先与同桌核对答案,然后教师给出标准答案。

4.学生大声朗读大数字。教师巡视补充。

5.教师点名学生进行大数字朗读。

突破二 教材Activities 5-6

1.先播放两遍Activity 5中的录音,让学生注意听大数字的读法;然后播放第三遍录音,让学生跟读;最后,各学习小组总结大数字的读法。

2.教师再列出一些大数字,挑选4名学生进行比赛,看谁读得快、读得准。

3.小组内讨论,表达自己对人口问题的观点。如果不同意他人的观点,说出理由。如:

4.如果时间充足,教师可以让学生对中国人口的现状发表自己的看法。
