1．学习新单词：本单元的新单词较多，通过直观的PPT学习单词，可以激发学生的学习兴趣。
2．让学生与同桌谈论Activity 1的图片，为后面的活动做准备。

突破一 教材Activity 3
1．预习检查：检查学生课前对对话的预习情况，主要包括：生词、重点短语是否在教材中标注；不理解的地方是否有问号体现。此活动由各小组长检查，教师巡视，时间3分钟。
2．播放磁带录音，设置几个简单的问题，锻炼学生听的能力。如：
(1)What is the big problem in many countries now?
(2)How many babies are born every minute in the world?

3．学生大声朗读对话5分钟，完成后面的笔记。先与同桌核对答案，然后教师给出标准答案。
4．学生大声朗读大数字。教师巡视补充。

1．先播放两遍Activity 5中的录音，让学生注意听大数字的读法；然后播放第三遍录音，让学生跟读；最后，各学习小组总结大数字的读法。
