The people’s princess(平民王妃)
• After her marriage, Diana soon took up the role of a princess in diplomatic tours with other countries, her kindness and love impressed people who have met her or even not seen her. Her personal style was quite different from the way other royal members. She is warm, approachable, and much pain folk (平民化 ,and people would rather 平民化), 平民化 portray Diana as the symbol of the British Imperial Family, rather than the Queen Elizabeth II. One journalist once asked Diana if she had ever thought of being the queen one day, she thought for a while and said, “I do not want to be the queen of this nation, I want to be the queen of people’s heart.” And she did it. ’ ”

The incompatibility between the princess and the royal family
• Despite her capability in diplomatic affairs and charity, the princess still kept a distance from her royal family. The imperial house did not expect an opinionated Diana, all they wanted is a pretty puppet(漂亮玩偶), accompanied with the prince. Diana was once suffered from some mental problems .She was entitled as the princess of Wales, while her friends called her “the prisoner of war”. • Diana wanted some changes, she showed her charming and love to the public. She participated in many charity activities, and felt more like a friend rather than a noble royal member. Her behaviors were seen as beyond the royal aminity(逾越皇室礼仪). Diana changed the trite (迂 腐)appearance of the royal family, however, the elders are still particular about her errors and misbehaviors. All she was, in their eyes, was impetuous(感情用事), rude, shallow(肤浅).
There was quite a fault from very beginning….
how did she say
• Diana herself admitted to struggling with depression, self injury, and bulimia(厌食症), which recurred (厌食症) throughout her adult life. One biographer suggested that Diana suffered from Borderline personality disorder.(边缘人格紊乱) (边缘人格紊乱) • Royal biographer Sarah Bradford commented, "The only cure for her (Diana's) suffering would have been the love of the Prince of Wales which she so passionately desired, something which would always be denied her. His was the final rejection; the way in which he consistently denied her reduced her to despair." Diana herself commented, "My husband made me feel inadequate in every possible way that each time I came up for air he pushed me down again ..."
Split of the First Family
• While more than a decade after their marriage, the true story is not that beautiful as what the fairy tale is…. • The existence of another in their marriage has long been there through out the years, just as what Diana said, “There are three of us in the marriage, it is too crowded.” • Camilla(卡米拉) had a long relationship with the prince, even before the prince’s engagement with Diana. The royal family permitted such a relationship silently, while the prince believed that he had the privilege over the other one in his marriage. The prince and the princess were never thought to be equal in this marriage. Even though Diana spared no effort to save the marriage, Charles had changed very little throughout the years.
