二、教学背景分析教学内容分析:本单元为Book 4 第一单元Women of Achievement。

第二课时:A Student of African Wildlife是一节阅读课。
介绍了杰出的女科学家Jane Goodall的伟大成就。
使学生对本单元话题“Women of Achievement”有了进一步的了解,同时给学生提供了大量相关话题的词汇和句型,为这一节听说课提供了语言支持和补充。
本节听说课正是对“Why are women no t given the same chances in their careers as men?”相关话题的讨论和分析,要求学生能用学到的语言及信息描述一位杰出女性。
Listening部分先让学生通过听力材料了解女性在社会中遇到的不平等问题,积累一定的词汇及表达方式。

III. Analysis of teaching material(教材分析):
1.This unit is the Women of achievement .It discusses
the roles that six women have played at different times and in different countries .Some of the women are from earlier times and some are modern women .All of them worked very hard at their chosen careers and persevered with their ideas .They had to overcome all sorts of problems .Learning the unit will contribute to improving the understanding of the role of women in society . It is also helpful to learn about the experience of successful female and their sprit of fighting for themselves. The unit is useful to
cultivate students’ (especially female) sense of enterprise and social responsibility . They can set up correct gender view and get confidence .
2.This lesson is listening and speaking .
Learning aims :① Improving students’ability of
spoken English by describing the six women of
warming-up by pictures (Elizabeth Fry , Song
Qingling , Jane Goodall ,Jody Williams ,Joan of Arc , Lin Qiaozhi.
②Listening text of Paragraph 1 and fill in the blank to check out
students ‘ listening ability .
3.Difficult points : Exercise 2 of listening in Page 7. This lesson is why women are not given the same chance in their careers as men .
