盐城经开区教育目前已经跻身全市第一方阵，这与经开区教育人多年的努力不无关系。
但是，如要保持这种势头，仍必须继续学习，不辍奋斗。
英语教师作为盐城经开区的一分子，更应该责无旁贷追求专业发展，为开发区的高质量教育添砖加瓦。

面对教师职业的专业化转型，作为教师的我们应该坚定对自己的职业追求，明确教师职业的核心价值和意义，进而形成专业化的教师职业信念。
而正式这种信念正式教师不断完善自己、使自己的工作趋向专业化的内在动力。
(二) 勤修基本功语言的基本功是指运用英语进行基本的听、说、读、写的能力。
广大教师在师范院校进行英语专业学习的阶段，都十分侧重语言运用能力的训练，也形成了一定的语言能力。
然而，语言是常用常新的，只有不断地去使用它，才能不断地提升能力。
英语教师首先面临的挑战就是脱离了一定的语言环境。
在这样的情况下，英语教师的语言能力可能会出现停滞甚至倒退的现象。
为了避免语言能力的下滑，英语教师应该有意识地为自己创造一定的语言氛围。

但在现实的教学中,刘道义(2000)在《我国外语教学教育的发展》的文章中概括,我国目前的外语教师师资队伍比较薄弱。
教育部基础教育课程教材发展中心“指导小学英语教学”项目专家工作组在《小学英语课程发展报告》(2006)中指出:“小学英语教学缺乏优秀的师资”,“农村小学英语教师的水平令人担忧”[3]。
在小学,英语专业毕业的教师数量微乎其微,很多小学英语教师是通过转岗培训而来,相当一部分英语教师英语基础不扎实,语音语调不准,口语表达能力弱,不能流利地使用英语授课,英语教师出现的身心疲惫、工作压力大、亚健康状态等问题已渐渐暴露出来,出现了教师专业成长严重旁落的不正常现象,教师的专业成长也由此成为新课程实施的瓶颈。
面对这种情况,面对新的教育理念,如何走专业化发展道路,是摆在每位英语教师面前的一个崭新课题。
二、有关概念的界定(一)专业化我国教育部师范司组织编写的《教师专业化的理论与实践》一书中,明确阐述:“专业化是一个社会学概念,其含义是指一个普通的职业群体在一定时期内,逐渐符合专业标准、成为专门职业并获得相应的专业地位的过程”[4]。
(二)教师专业化发展根据美国教育资源信息中心(E R I C)资料库辞典中的解释,专业发展(p r o f e s s i o n a l d e v e l o p m e n t)指“提高专业化事业成长的活动”。
这样的活动包括个人发展、继续教育、在职教育以及同伴协作、学习组和同伴指导或者培训。
有的学者把专业发展、教师培训(s t a f f d e v e l o p m e n t)、在职教育(i n———s e r v i c e e d u c a t i o n)等作为完全可以相互代替的词汇交叉使用。
也有的常把专业发展与专业成长(p r o f e s s i o n a l g r o w t h)、教师发展(t e a c h e r d e v e l o p m e n t)、教师培训和职业发展(c a r e e r d e v e l o p m e n t)等交互使用。
尽管对“教师专业发展”所使用的词汇和理解的角度不尽相同,国内外学者对教师专业发展的内涵理解大致类似,“教师专业发展”这一概念归纳起来有两种基本观点:一是指教师的专业成长过程;二是指促进教师专业成长的过程(即教师教育)。
因此,无论从教师的内在要求还是对教师的外在培训,教师专业发展可以理解为教师的专业成长或教师内在专业结构、专业素养(包括专业心理)不断更新、完善的一个动态的发展过程,是指教师在整个专业生涯中,依托专业组织,通过终身专业训练,习得教育专业知识技能,实施专业自主,表现专业道德,逐步提高自身从教素质,成为一个良好的教育专业工作者的专业成长过程。
三、英语教师专业化的基本素养教师的专业素养是当代教师质量的集中体现。
新课程要求英语教师具备什么样的专业素养呢?束定芳、章兼中和王才仁对此都有自己独到的见解。

教学实施能力;较高的人品修养和令人愉快的个人性格;较为系统的现代语言知识;相当的外语习得理论知识;一定的外语教学法知识等[5]。
章兼中(1991)提出:一个合格的英语教师应具备三方面的素养:思想情操和道德情感素养,专业文化知识素养,以及教育理论和教学研究能力[6];王才仁(1996)认为英语教师要具备三方面的特质:职业信念、教学思维和英语能力[7]。
综合有关研究,笔者认为,关于教师以及英语教师的素养的论述虽角度不同,层次不同,但都是科学的归纳,有一定的道理。
英语教师的基本素质是指从事英语学科教学的教师应具备的专业知识和教学技能素养方面的综合,面向新世纪的外语教学需要有适应新世纪要求的英语教师。
依据叶澜(1998)对未来教师专业素养中所具备的多层复合的知识结构的论述,笔者认为,在新课程背景下,英语教师应具有英语专业的本体性知识和其他相关专业的条件性知识以及多方面的兴趣和才能等素养。
这包括良好的个性品质;崭新的教育观念;敬业奉献的崇高精神;多元的知识结构;娴熟的教学艺术(具有听、说、读、写、演、唱、游、画的基本技能);善于在实践中凝聚生成教育智慧;有较强的学习和教育科研能力。
新的课程改革要求教师具有一定的职业修养,具有一定的批判反思精神,要求教师是组织者、指导者、激励者、学习者、合作者和研究者,要求教师们在实际的教学过程中教学相长,促进教师的专业发展。
四、促进小学初任英语教师专业发展的途径与策略英语教师专业发展既具有教师专业发展的一般特征,又有其特殊性。
它是一个持续的动态发展过程,具有阶段性、自主性、丰富性和差异性。
从我国英语教师专业发展的现状研究和对教师的专业发展调查中,笔者发现影响专业发展的因素包括社会、学校、个人等。
为了提高小学初任英语教师素质,我们可以从这些方面着手,对教师本人和学校外部环境提出一些建议,促进这一群体的专业发展。
(一)英语教师的自我发展1.加强自我专业发展需要和意识,制定个人专业发展规划“只有当教育者自觉地完善自己时,才能更有利于学生的完善与发展;在职业实践中对完美职业角色形象的探究和实践、思考与行动,则对教育质量和教师生命质量都具有决定性意义。
”[8]教师自我专业发展意味着教师对自己的专业发展负责,强调教师不仅是专业发展的对象,更是自身专业的主人,是一种自我更新、专业自主的发展。
因此,教师要想尽快适应教师职业,提高自己的教育教学水平,必须依赖于自身强烈的职业发展动机和意识,树立良好的教育信念,制定个人专业发展规划,这样才能使教师摆脱“教书匠”的困惑,使平凡的工作得以升华。
形成良好的教育信念,是教师专业发展的最高境界,它直接影响着教师的自主发展意识。
没有强烈的自我专业发展意识,离开自主发展,教师的专业成长和发展就无从谈起。
在强烈的自我发展需要和意识的促动下,在良好的教育信念的引导下,英语教师才会有强烈的内驱力,才会循着个人专业发展规划,其专业发展才会从自觉走向自发。
2.强化教学实践和教学反思一体化外语教师职业是一种专业,而非一般的工作。
我国著名教育家林崇德(1999)认为优秀教师=教育过程+反思,教学反思会使教师形成自我反思意识和自我监控能力,而教师教学监控能力是教师素质的核心。
外语教师不能停留在“教书匠”的层次,而应当发展到“教育家”的层次上来。
如果抱守以往的经验或成绩,自己的专业就会停滞不前。
因此,新课程下的英语教师需要改变传统教学观念,打破课时的束缚,从整体上来把握外语教学,又要在教学实践中对理论和实践及其关系进行反思,以适应变化。
反思存在于整个教学的整体行为当中,英语教师要重视在教学前、教学中和教学后进行反思,培养撰写成长日记和反思报告的习惯,发挥反思教学的优势,为自己的教学生涯积累素材和经验。
反思是教师专业发展和自我成长的核心因素,反思是教师专业化发展的必由之路。
在实践中反思,在反思中成长,多一份反思,就多一份提高,只有强化教学实践和教学反思一体化,英语教师自身的素质与能力才会全面发展,才能朝着专业化方向大步迈进。
3.树立终身学习的观念,坚持不懈地学习。
教师成长固然有赖于好的环境,但更重要的取决于教师自己的心态和作为。
我国新一轮课改的目标是要实现从学科本位、知识本位向关注每一个学生发展的转变,实现由应试教育向素质教育的转轨。
这种全方位的变革要求英语教师树立终身学习的观念,尽快地做好角色的转变,适应教育教学工作。
要树立终身学习的观念,多渠道地学习,通过学习提升修养,丰富自己的理论内涵,积极投身教育科研的改革与实践,积极探索新的课堂教学模式,不断探求、感悟、反思,使自己逐步成为一个出色的教育工作者。
此外,英语教师可以通过认真阅读教育教学刊物,及时积累专题研究的第一手资料,进行教学案例的分析,乐于动笔,撰写论文,把自己的专题研究从实践层面提升至理论层面。
只要务实肯干、善于学习、积极进取、开拓创新,英语教师就会在现实生存的土壤中找到自己的生长点,并以自己的个体成长促进教师队伍的整体专业发展。
(二)英语教师发展的外部环境1.学校人文环境的支撑英语教师踏上工作岗位,经验不足,还有很多困惑。
面对角色的转换和过渡需要学校提供一个有利于成长的人文环境,指导和促进教师的成长和进步,让教师从模仿走向创新,形成自己的教学特色和风格。
正如访谈中很多老师所认为的,学校的人文环境、教师队伍的精神,学校领导对教师的信任,能够给他们很大的信心。
首先,学校要帮助教师更新教育思想观念,提高师德修养,发展教师对学生的爱心和专业献身精神,使教师树立热爱教育事业、以德育人、为人师表的形象。
其次,学校要建立适合教师专业发展的人文环境,包括宽松平等的人际环境、严谨负责的育人环境、公正合理的竞争环境等。
在这样的环境中,教师在教学过程中会积极主动地探索、创新和解决问题,会追求上进、追求卓越,积极、20四川教育学院学报 2010年3月努力地提高和发展自己。
