介绍一个你最喜欢的景点英语作文全文共5篇示例,供读者参考篇1My Favorite Place in the Whole Wide WorldDo you have a favorite place that you really really love? A place that makes you super happy just thinking about it? Well, I do! And I'm going to tell you all about my number one favorite spot. Get ready, because this place is awesome! My favorite place in the entire universe is this huge park called Glacier National Park. It's located way up north in the United States, really close to Canada. Glacier National Park has ginormous mountains, beautiful valleys, glistening lakes, incredible waterfalls, and amazing animals everywhere you look!I've been going to Glacier almost every summer since I was a tiny baby. My whole family drives for miles and miles to get there from our home. We have to pack tons of stuff like tents, sleeping bags, hiking boots, life jackets, and bear spray (don't worry, it's just for protection!). The drive always feels super long, but I don't even care because I'm so excited to finally arrive. When we enter Glacier National Park, the first thing I notice are the humongous rocky mountain peaks. They're called the Rocky Mountains and they are the crinkliest, most jaw-dropping mountains I've ever seen! They look like giant gray dragons sticking straight up into the bright blue sky. Some even have white snow sprinkled on top, even in summer! As we drive further into the park, that's when the real fun begins. We usually stop at this perfect little lake called Lake McDonald. The water is sooo clear and freezing cold since it's fed by glaciers (that's where the park gets its name!). You can go swimming, but I prefer sticking my toes in rather than my whole body because it's ice ice cold! There's a hiking trail that loops all the way around the lake too. One time, we saw a huge male deer drinking from the lake. He had the most massive antlers I've ever seen! I was a little scared he might attack us, but my dad said deer are pretty chill unless you get too close.Another awesome thing about Glacier is "Going-to-the-Sun Road." That's the actual name and it's not lying - this road truly does go to the sun! It's a long, windy, narrow road that climbs up and up through the mountains. The views are breathtaking everywhere you look. Sheer cliffs, thick green forests, powerful waterfalls cascading down from above. You can even see glaciersand snow fields! There are hardly any guardrails, which makes me a little nervous when we reach the highest point called Logan Pass. But the feeling of being on top of the world makes it totally worth it.Speaking of being on top of the world, that's how I feel when we go hiking in Glacier National Park. Some of the hiking trails are short and easy, while others are super long and incredibly difficult. No matter how hard the hike, the scenery and landscape is always unbelievable. One of my favorite hikes is the Avalanche Lake Trail. After walking for a while through a forest of towering trees, you emerge to find the most beautiful lake you've ever seen. The water is this really unique shade of blue-green. And behind the lake are waterfalls spilling down from the mountains above. It's honestly the most prettiest, most peaceful place. Sometimes we spot animals on the trail like furry little critters called pikas or huge mountain goats sitting on the rocky ledges. I'm always a little scared of potentially running into a grizzly bear, but I've never actually seen one (thank goodness!).When I'm not out hiking miles and miles, I love horseback riding through the meadows and valleys of Glacier. There's this one area called the Two Medicine Valley that feels straight out of a cowboy movie. Rolling hills, winding rivers, horses everywhere.I've gotten pretty decent at riding horses and can even try trotting and cantering now (those are the horse speeds faster than walking!). The horses in Glacier seem to be superwell-trained too. They're not spooked easily, even when we occasionally see wildlife like a fox, coyote or bald eagle. I definitely want to be a cowgirl or horse trainer when I grow up!After long days spent exploring the trails and meadows of Glacier, I look forward to heading back to our campsite and starting the fun night activities. We always try to pick campsites that are right along one of the rivers or creeks. That way, I can spend hours just staring at the crystal clear glacial water gushing over the rocks. The sound is so relaxing and peaceful. Once it starts getting dark, we cook a yummy dinner over the campfire, make s'mores for dessert, and then go star-gazing before bedtime. With very little light pollution, the night skies in Glacier are spectacular! I've never seen so many twinkling stars in the velvety night sky. There's just something truly magical about Glacier National Park. I can't quite put my finger on it, but the incredible scenery, fresh mountain air, plethora of outdoor activities, and tranquil atmosphere make it unlike anywhere else on Earth. I cherish the quality time spent there with my family, creating lifelongmemories under those big open skies. Without a doubt, Glacier National Park will always be my happy place and favorite spot in the whole wide world. It fills me with pure wonder and joy unlike anything else. I feel so lucky to have experienced its beautyfirst-hand at such a young age. Maybe I'll be a park ranger there when I'm older and spend every single day surrounded by its splendor! Can you tell I'm just a little obsessed with Glacier?!篇2My Favorite Place in the Whole Wide WorldHave you ever been somewhere that made you feel like you were in a storybook? That's how I feel when I go to Storybook Gardens! It's the most magical place on Earth in my opinion. Let me tell you all about it.Storybook Gardens is a huge park filled with areas themed after popular fairy tales and children's stories. It first opened in 1958 and it's located in my city. My parents have been taking me there since I was a baby and it's always been my number one favorite destination. The best part is that everything at Storybook Gardens is super oversized! The playgrounds have enormous sculptures of beloved book characters that are ten feet tall or more. You canclimb up inside a colossal squash like the one from The Enormous Turnip. There's a gigantic planter shaped like an old lady's shoe for kids to scamper through like the old lady who lived in a shoe nursery rhyme. And my absolute favorite is climbing to the top of Humpty Dumpty's cracked and crooked wall! The gardens themselves are just as magical. Each one is inspired by a different classic tale. In the Three Little Pigs garden, there are little houses made of straw, sticks, and bricks with a big smokestack huffing and puffing. Rapunzel's garden has a tall stone tower with her long braid dangling down. And my sister's favorite is the Peter Rabbit garden filled with oversized carrots, cabbages, and radishes that we can munch on.But Storybook Gardens isn't just for little kids. There are all sorts of fun attractions that bigger kids and adults love too. They have go-kart courses, paddle boats you can drive around a little lake, and mini golf courses. My favorite is the Wizard of Oz mini golf where you putt through the streets of the Emerald City and under the dangling legs of the Wicked Witch's castle! The park also has incredible playgrounds, a petting zoo, and an antique carousel with hand-carved horses and chariots. We love riding the carousel, throwing petting food to the goats andsheep, and exploring the hedge mazes and secret gardens. No matter how many times I go, there's always some new surprise to discover. One of the highlights of every year is the Christmas Fantasy lights show. They string up millions of sparkling lights all throughout the park and have light displays showing scenes from stories like The Nutcracker and 'Twas the Night Before Christmas. My family goes every December to drink hot chocolate and watch all the dazzling decorations twinkle at night. It's so pretty and festive!Another tradition my family has is attending the Fairy Tale Fair every spring. They bring in jousters, minstrels, jesters, and even wandering giants on stilts to entertain the crowds. We love watching the knights compete in tournament games and cheering for our favorite characters during the parade. Sometimes I even get to meet fairy tale princesses like Cinderella or Snow White and take pictures with them. The best day I ever had at Storybook Gardens was definitely my 8th birthday party. My parents rented out the Old Woman's Shoe for a few hours and all my friends came over in their pajamas for a slumber party theme. We got to eat cake and ice cream while dressed in our comfiest PJs, then headed out to runaround the gardens in our slippers! We played mermaid princess in the fountain courtyard and had a teddy bear's picnic on the giant mushrooms. I'll never forget that amazing night with my besties.Whenever I'm having a bad day or feeling sad, coming to Storybook Gardens always cheers me up. As soon as I walk through the gates, it's like being transported into the worlds of all my favorite stories. The sights, sounds, and smells instantly lift my mood and fill me with a sense of joy and wonder. No matter how old I get, I'll never get tired of this place. It's truly a magical kingdom where dreams come to life.In my opinion, Storybook Gardens is the best destination for kids and kids-at-heart. With its whimsical landscapes,one-of-a-kind attractions, and fairytale amazement around every corner, it's no surprise that it has been my #1 happy place for as long as I can remember. I feel so lucky to have this incredible storybook world right in my hometown to explore again and again. If you ever get a chance to visit, I'm sure you'll fall in love too!篇3My Favorite Place - The Beach!Do you know what my favorite place in the whole wide world is? It's the beach! I absolutely love going to the beach. It's where I have the most fun and make the happiest memories. I'm going to tell you all about why the beach is so awesome.First of all, the beach has the best scenery. When you get there, you see the bright blue sky stretching out as far as you can see. The sky meets the sparkling ocean that goes on forever too. The ocean is this incredible shade of blue-green that's so pretty. And then there's the sandy beach that feels so nice between your toes. The sand is nice and warm from the sunshine. I love digging my feet down into the soft, grainy sand. It's heavenly! And that's just what you can see with your eyes. But the beach also has the most wonderful sounds and smells too. You can hear the rhythmic crashing of the waves as they roll in and out. That relaxing, swooshing sound is my favorite. And you can smell the fresh, salty ocean air. That scent instantly relaxes me and makes me feel so peaceful inside. It's the best scents and sounds in nature.Of course, the beach is most fun because of all the amazing activities you can do there. You can go swimming and splash around in the refreshing water. I love riding the waves and diving underneath them. You can build sandcastles and other sandsculptures on the beach too. My family and I have contests to see who can build the coolest and most detailed sandcastle. We always end up with sand everywhere, but it's worth it.You can also look for pretty seashells that have washed up on shore. I have a big collection of different colored shells, shiny rocks, and other treasures I've found combing the beach over the years. Some people like to go fishing off the beach too, but I'm not a big fan of that.Another awesome thing about the beach is that you often see cool marine life there. I've spotted dolphins swimming and jumping through the waves before. And once I even saw a sea turtle! How awesome is that? The beach is just filled with amazing plants and animals if you take the time to look closely. But maybe the number one reason I love the beach so much is because it's the ultimate place to just kick back, relax, and have fun with my family and friends. We'll pack a cooler with snacks and drinks and just spend the entire day hanging out on the beach together. We'll take turns burying each other in the sand, telling jokes and stories, and just enjoying each other's company in one of the most beautiful places on earth. Those are memories I'll never forget. My parents say the beach is a great place to unwind and "recharge your batteries." I'm not totally sure what that means, but I do know the beach makes me happier than anywhere else. After a super fun day at the beach, I'm recharged and refreshed - even if I did get a bit of sunburn! As you can probably tell, the beach is pretty much my happy place. It truly is my favorite place in the entire world. I feel so lucky to live near the ocean and be able to visit the beach all the time. When I'm an adult, I want to live somewhere right on the beach so I can enjoy it every single day. A house up on the beach cliffs with a gorgeous view? That would be a dream come true.Until then, you can find me at the beach as much as possible. I'll be the one swimming in the waves, covered in sand, with a big smile on my face. To me, the beach is pure paradise on earth. Whenever I'm feeling stressed, anxious or sad, the beach is where I want to be. It's impossible to have a bad day at the beach. It's my favorite playground, my favorite escape, my favorite adventure. The beach is simply the best!篇4My Favorite Place: The Awesome Aquarium!Do you like fish? I LOVE FISH! All different kinds of fish - big ones, little ones, colorful ones, and even weird looking ones. That's why my favorite place in the whole world is the aquarium. It's the most amazing, fantastic, underwater world you could ever imagine! The aquarium is this huge building with tons of giant tank windows where you can see all the fish swimming around. As soon as you walk in, there's a massive cylindrical tank in the middle that goes all the way up to the ceiling. It's filled with rays, sharks, turtles, and more fish than you could count! You can walk all the way around it on ramps and see everything from different angles. It's so cool! One of the best parts is the tunnel you can walk through under the ocean exhibit. The walls and ceiling are just clear tunnels, and you're completely surrounded by water on all sides. Sharks, rays, and gigantic fish swim right over your head! It feels like you're actually underwater with them. You can sit on the benches and watch them for hours. I always try to see who can hold their breath the longest when the sharks swim by.My favorite fish are the clown fish because they're so bright orange with white stripes and little smiley faces. They're just like Nemo from the movie! There's a whole section of the aquariumcalled the Tropical Reef where the clown fish live with all the brightest, prettiest fish you've ever seen. The coral reefs are every color of the rainbow with purple, pink, yellow, blue, and green. It looks like an underwater garden of crazy houseplants!Another very cool area is called the Amazon Rising, where they have recreated the whole Amazon River basin. There are piranhas, anacondas, caimans, and examples of all the fish and reptiles from that region. Be careful you don't fall in the water, or the piranhas might think you're food! It feels like you're in a real rainforest walking through there.Probably the most popular exhibit is the Shark Lagoon. This is an outdoor area with a gigantic pool where you can reach down and touch sharks, rays, and little fish as they swim past. The sharks are totally safe though, because they only eat fish, not humans! It's so crazy to be able to pet a real live shark. Their skin feels like sandpaper. Sometimes the rays even jump up out of the water! There's also an area called Penguin Playground that has tons of cute little penguins from Antarctica waddling around. They are so funny and silly to watch. You can see them swimming underwater through the glass too. During feeding time, they allassemble together and gobble up all the fish they're given. I always laugh when they slip and slide on the ice.My absolute favorite animal, though, is the Giant Pacific Octopus. They only have a few of them in their own separate tank, but they are incredible! An octopus has eight slimy, slippery, bendy arms that it uses to crawl around and catch fish to eat. It can actually squirt ink at you from across the tank if it gets scared! Octopuses are extremely intelligent and good at solving problems too. There are so many other creatures besides just fish - like sea otters, seals, beavers, and even alligators! You could spend an entire day there and still not see everything. After walking through all the exhibits, I like to go to the Aquarium Theater and catch one of the animal shows or movies in 3D about exploring shipwrecks and deep sea adventures. Before you leave, you have to stop in the gift shop! They have stuffed animals of every fish and sea creature, t-shirts, toys, games, puzzles, and all kinds of fun aquarium souvenirs. You can even get a real shark tooth necklace! I always beg my parents to get me something each time we go.The aquarium is awesome for so many reasons. It's an incredible place to learn about all the mysterious creatures thatlive under the ocean. You get to experience it up close and personal instead of just looking at pictures in a book. Seeing the real thing is a thousand times better than anything on TV or a computer screen. Whenever I go there, I always discover something new and amazing about marine life that I never knew before!I never get tired of going to the aquarium because there's always more to explore. I'm constantly finding new exhibits and shows that weren't there before. Plus, my favorite fish are constantly changing as I learn about different kinds! Sometimes I even pretend I'm scuba diving and swimming along with them. A place with that much ocean life is beyond my wildest dreams!I could go on forever about my love for the aquarium, but I'll stop here. If you've never been, you're really missing out! What's your excuse? Get out there and go discover one of the most jaw-droppingly awesome places on planet Earth! Who knows, you might even find a new favorite fish friend. I know I have!篇5My Favorite Place: The Playground! What is your favorite place? Mine is the playground near my school. It's the best place ever! I love going there every day afterschool to have fun with my friends. We play all sorts of games and it's always an adventure. The playground has so many cool things. First of all, it has the biggest swing set I've ever seen. It has ten swings all connected together. My friends and I have contests to see who can swing the highest without jumping off. I can swing super high, but Timmy always beats me. One time he swung so high I thought he might flip all the way over the top!Next to the swings is the seesaw. Lots of kids are too scared to go on it because they think they'll get stuck in the air. Not me though! I love that feeling when you go up and your stomach flips a little. My best friend Emily and I spend a lot of time seesawing up and down over and over. We see who can jump off at just the right second to make the other person smack down hard on their side. Don't worry, it's totally safe and we've never gotten hurt! The coolest part of the playground is definitely the jungle gym though. It's this crazy maze of bars, ramps, tunnels and ladders all twisted up together. It looks like a giant pretzel! My friends and I love finding new ways to climb around and explore every nook and cranny. Sometimes we play chase and have to be quick climbing and finding new routes to lose the person who's"it." Other times we just chill out on the little platforms and talk about video games. From the top of the jungle gym you can see everything - the swings, the seesaw, the basketball court, and even the street outside the playground gates. Once I climbed all the way up to the very highest point with my friend Jack. We could see sooooo far! We looked out over the rooftops of all the houses nearby. I swear we could even see downtown Houston way off in the distance! Jack got scared of being so high up and had to climb back down, but I stayed up there a while longer just looking out over everything.Behind the jungle gym is the sandbox. It's kind of hidden away which I like because then the bigger kids leave us alone to dig and build whatever we want back there. Me and my sandbox crew spend recess piling up sand into mountains, digging cool patterns and mixing in water to make sand castles. We use popsicle sticks to decorate them and sometimes even bury little toys to make our own archeological digs! The playground does have a few lame parts too though. Like the baby swings - who even uses those? They're so tiny and low to the ground. And the bouncy animals are kind of boring after you've ridden on them a few times. The merry-go-round isstupid too. It just spins you around in a circle and makes you feel dizzy. No thanks!Overall though, the playground is my happy place. I love how many different things there are to do and explore there. Every day feels like a new adventure with my friends. We run around getting exercise and fresh air instead of sitting inside. We use our creativity and imaginations to dream up games and activities. We learn about taking turns, playing fair, and getting along while having fun.Recess at the playground is definitely the highlight of my day at school. As soon as the bell rings for recess, I go running out the door and don't stop until I reach that gate with the "Park Playground" sign. I take a deep breath of the fresh air and feel completely free and happy. My friends and I shout and scream with joy as we start another recess adventure at our favorite place - the playground!。

Kunming.A geological phenomenon, the Stone Forest was a vast eXpanse of sea during the Paleozoic era——some 270 million years ter, the movement of tectonic plates altered the earth’s crust, causing the sea to recede and its limestone bottom to appear, thereby forming land.Due to the constantseeping ofrain through the cracks in the limestone, some of the stone formation dissolved and the fissures broadened, producing a group of great sculptures of different shapes, all molded by nature. In the midst of the forest, there is a huge rock screen on which two words——Stone Forest——are engraved in official script .Among the scenic sights is the "Sword Peak Pond" with jadeite-colored water so clear that one can see the bottom of the pond.Other astonishing sights include "Figure of Ashima," "Shi Ba Xiang Song" , and "Lotus Peak."The splendor of the Stone Forest is enhanced by the local customs of the native Sani people .Sani people are industrious and hospitable——and unconstrained.Sani women are eXpert at spinning, weaving, and embroidering. They like to wear rainbow-colored headgear and bright-colored dresses. The young people especially are very good singers and dancers.Every day at sunset, under the moonlight, boys and girls gather at the village platform. While the boys play the three-stringed plucked instruments, the girls clap their hands and dance the strong-rhythmed traditional "A’Xi Dance in the Moon" with great enthusiasm. If you happen to witness the event, you will be invited to join in the festivity.Note that every lunar year, on June 24th, the Sani people celebrate their national festival——the Torch Festival. On that day,the entire Stone Forest is permeated with a celebratory atmosphere. There are traditional performances of wreestling and What were theuncivilized things they’ve doneduring travelling abroad? Someunique things done byChinese tourists when travelling made them be some labels like cutting in line, spitting, defecating indiscriminately and so on.There are plenty of examples like this in my side. Once I travelled to Beijing by following the tour group with countrymen. In the Beijing-to- Tianjin high-speed railway, I experienced their behavior, even if this is only in the domestic! When we movedinto the high iron, the quiet carriage was becoming noisy. And then, they talked loudly with each other in the carriage impudently, distributed snacks, laughed, completely ignoredthe workers reading books or working around. So, why did they do so without beingproducedgood impression by others? In my opinion, first of all, the cultural levelsof the tourists are uneven. Some of them have received a good influence or have received higher education, maybe they won't lose their faces through this behaviors. Secondly, some people love themselveswhile some people have thick hides. Self-love people tend to do internally, being strict with himself even if when left alone, restraining themselves not to do violate moral thing.Thirdly, in the public places, there is no people to remind tourists not toinfluence others. Again, I think they are likely to be very familiar with. With the familiar people, weoftenbehave very along with the gender. So sometimes they might exceed certain limit, making indecent things. Finally, many of whom have large age, they are probably in 40 s or 50 s, the elders own relative stubborn personality, it's hard to change their life attitude. And the last one increasingly emphasizes the importance of education.Found the problem, howcan we solve it? As we know, in general, tochange a thing is easier than to change a person; to change a person is easier than to change a generation. There is a saying: to cultivate a gentleman needs the efforts of several generations. Obviously, if you want to become a nouveau riche or to become rich only, you may just need to win the lottery. But if aperson wants to be a gentleman, to gainhis own economic foundationand have great cultural qualities, he needs to take a long timeabsolutely.Back to the topic of our discussion, how to make a group or even a generationmore polite, being respected everywhere? As far as I am concerned, it really needs the efforts of several generations in China. The most important——the development of our education. We’re supposed to ensure more and more people to accept education andmake more people even allthe national receive higher education. Then, let the experts tell those workers in moral education how to impart knowledge to the students better, helping us set up the consciousness of morality. It will help us learn to judge by ourselves, knowing what to do on some occasions clearly. What’s more?Through the efforts of a generation or two with the government, there may gradually be a good familyculture in each family. So the next generation will be easy tounderstand how to respect others. At that time they might realize civilization work is very normal and simple, the benchmarking of model will be set up in their hearts.I think this will not only solve the problem about Chinese tourists, it will make China's national quality increase greatly. Becausethe tourist behavior isonly just a reflection of national quality.I know, what I havethought is only just a conceive. But I hope the ideas will not to be put into fantasy, through our education, through our government, through our efforts…作文,英语,中国旅游篇三:Persuade people to China 一篇说服外国人来中国旅游的英文文章As the economic developed , more and more people can afford totravel outside their own country . 下面是店铺给大家整理的一些英语范文,供大家参阅!有关旅游景点介绍的英语作文篇1:自由女神像Out of all of America's symbols, none has proved more enduring or evocative than the Statue of Liberty. This giant figure, torch in hand and clutching a stone tablet, has for a century acted as a figurehead for the American Dream; indeed there is probably no more immediately recognizable profile in existence. It's worth remembering that the statue is - for Americans at least - a potent reminder that the USA is a land of immigrants: it was New York Harbor where the first big waves of European immigrants arrived, their ships entering through the Verrazano Narrows to round the bend of the bay and catch a first glimpse of "Liberty Enlightening the World" - an end of their journey into the unknown, and the symbolic beginning of a new life. These days, although only the very wealthy can afford to arrive here by sea, and a would-be immigrant's first (and possibly last) view of the States is more likely to be the customs check at JFK Airport, Liberty remains a stirring sight, with Emma Lazarus's poem, The New Colossus, written originally to raise funds for the statue's base, no less quotable than when it was written……Here at our sea-washed, sunset gates shall stand A mighty woman with a torch, whose flame Is the imprisoned lightning, and her name Mother of Exiles. From her beacon-hand Glows world-wide welcome; her mild eyes command The air-bridged harbor that twin cities frame. "Keep ancient lands, your storied pomp!" cries she With silent lips."Give me your tired, your poor,Your huddled masses yearning to breathe free, The wretched refuse to your teeming shore. Send these, the homeless, tempest-tost to me, I lift my lamp beside the golden door."The statue, which depicts Liberty throwing off her shackles and holding a beacon to light the world, was the creation of the French sculptor Frédéric Auguste Bartholdi, who crafted it a hundred years after the American Revolution in recognition of solidarity between the French and American people (though it's fair to add that Bartholdi originally intended the statue for Alexandria in Egypt). Bartholdi built Liberty in Paris between 1874 and 1884, starting with a terracotta model and enlarging it through four successive versions to its present size, a construction of thin copper sheets boltedtogether and supported by an iron framework designed by Gustave Eiffel. The arm carrying the torch was exhibited in Madison Square Park for seven years, but the whole statue wasn't officially accepted on behalf of the Americanpeople until 1884, after which it was taken apart, crated up and shipped to New York.It was to be another two years before it could be properly unveiled: money had to be collected to fund the construction of the base, and for some reasonAmericans were unwilling - or unable - to dip into their pockets. Only through the campaigning efforts of newspaper magnate Joseph Pulitzer, a keensupporter of the statue, did it all come together in the end. Richard Morris Hunt built a pedestal around the existing star-shaped Fort Wood, and Liberty was formally dedicated by President Cleveland on October 28, 1886, in aflag-waving shindig that has never really stopped. The statuewas closed for a few years in the mid-1980s for extensive renovation and, in 1986, fifteen million people descended on Manhattan for the statue's centennialcelebrations.Today you can climb steps up to the crown, but the cramped stairway though the torch sadly remains closed to the public. Don't be surprised ifthere's an hour-long wait to ascend. Even if there is, Liberty Park's views of the lower Manhattan skyline, the twin towers of the World Trade Center lording it over the jutting teeth of New York's financial quarter, are spectacular enough.有关旅游景点介绍的英语作文篇2:纽约唐人街On the surface, Chinatown is prosperous - a "model slum," some have called it - with the lowest crime rate, highest employment and least juvenile delinquency of any city district. Walk through its crowded streets at any time of day, and every shop is doing a brisk and businesslike trade: restaurant after restaurant is booming; there are storefront displays of shiny squids, clawing crabs and clambering lobster; and street markets offer overflowing piles of exotic green vegetables, garlic and ginger root. Chinatown has the feel of a land of plenty, and the reason why lies with the Chinese themselves: even here, in the very core of downtown Manhattan, they have been careful to preserve their own way of dealing with things, preferring to keep affairs close to the bond of the family and allowing few intrusions into a still-insular culture. There have been several concessions to Westerners - storefront signs now offer English translations, and Haagen Dazs and Baskin Robbins ice-cream stores have opened on lower Mott Street - but they can't help but seem incongruous. The one time of the year when Chinatownbursts open is during the Chinese New Year festival, held each year on the first full moon afterJanuary 19, when a giant dragon runs down Mott Street to the accompaniment of firecrackers, and the gutters run with ceremonial dyes.Beneath the neighborhood's blithely prosperous facade, however, there is a darker underbelly. Sharp practices continue to flourish, with traditionalextortion and protection rackets still in business. Non-union sweatshops - their assembly lines grinding from early morning to late into the evening - are still visited by the US Department of Labor, who come to investigate workers' testimonies of being paid below minimum wage for seventy-plus-hour work weeks. Living conditions are abysmal for the poorer Chinese - mostly recent immigrants and the elderly - who reside in small rooms in overcrowdedtenements ill-kept by landlords. Yet, because the community has beencloistered for so long and has only just begun to seek help from city officials for its internal problems, you won't detect any hint of difficulties unless you reside in Chinatown for a considerable length of time.有关旅游景点介绍的英语作文篇3:迪斯尼乐园Walt and Roy Disney began their partnership on October 16, 1923 when they signed a contract to produce the Alice Comedies, a series of six- toeight-minute animated films, or "shorts," combining live-action and animation. What began as the Disney Brothers Studio evolved into The Walt Disney Company.Throughout the decades, the company has expandedworldwide from shorts to feature-length animated and live-action films and television production;character merchandise licensing; consumer products retailing; book, magazine and music publishing; Internet activities; television and radio broadcasting; cable television programming; and the operation of theme parks and resorts. From the creation of Oswald the Lucky Rabbit in 1927 and the debut of Mickey Mouse in 1928 to the premiere of Tarzan in 1999, animation has remained the defining signature of the company. Along the way, Disney has added successful TV shows like Who Wants To Be A Millionaire, openedtheme parks in California, Florida, France and Japan, launched more than 700 Disney Stores and added brands such as Touchstone, Miramax, ABC and ESPN to the fold.To make the most of Disneyland - the ultimate escapist fantasy and the blueprint for imitations worldwide - throw yourself right into it. Don't think twice about anything and go on every ride you can. The high admission price ($36) includes them all, although during peak periods each one can entail hours of queueing. Remember, too, that the emphasis is on family fun; the authorities take a dim view of anything remotely anti-social and eject those they consider guilty.Over four hundred "Imaginers" worked to create the Indiana JonesAdventure, Disneyland's biggest opening in years. Two hours of queueing are built into the ride, with an interactive archeological dig and 1930s-stylenewsreel show leading up to the main feature - a giddy journey along 2500ft of skull-encrusted corridors in which you face fireballs, falling rubble, venomous snakes and, inevitably, arolling boulder finale. Disney claims that, thanks to computer engineering, no two Indiana Jones rides are ever alike. Judge for yourself.Among the best of the older rides are two in Adventureland: the Pirates of the Caribbean, a boat trip through underground caverns, singing along withdrunken pirates; and the Haunted Mansion, a riotous "doom buggy" tour in the company of the house spooks.Tomorrowland is Disney's vision of the future, where the Space Mountain roller coaster zips through the pitch-blackness of outer space, and the Star Tours ride simulates a journey into the world of George Lucas. The Skyway cable-car line that connects Tomorrowland with the clever but cloyingly sentimental Fantasyland is the only spot in the park from which you can see the outside world. As for accommodation, try to visit Disneyland just for the day and spend the night somewhere else. Most of the hotels and motels nearby cost well in excess of $70 per night. You're not permitted to bring your own food to the park; you can only consume the fast food sold on the premises.Disneyland is at 1313 Harbor Blvd, Anaheim, 45 minutes by car from downtown using the Santa Ana Freeway. In summer, the park is open daily between 8am and 1am; otherwise opening hours are weekdays 10am to 6pm, Saturday 9am to midnight, and Sunday 9am to 10pm. Arrive early; trafficquickly becomes nightmarish, especially in the summer.
