English essay writing is a fundamental skill that is essential for academic and professional success. It involves the ability to express ideas, thoughts, and opinions in a clear, concise, and well-structured manner. The process of writing an essay can be challenging, but with the right strategies and techniques, it can be a rewarding and fulfilling experience. One of the most important aspects of essay writing is the ability to understand the prompt or the topic of the essay. This involves carefully reading and analyzing the question or the instructions provided, and then developing a clear and focused thesis statement that will guide the rest of the essay. The thesis statement should be a concise and well-articulated statement that presents the main argument or the central idea of the essay.Once the thesis statement has been established, the next step is to develop a well-structured outline that will serve as a roadmap for the essay. This outline should include an introduction, body paragraphs, and a conclusion. The introduction should provide backgroundinformation on the topic and should clearly state the thesis statement. The body paragraphs should then present the supporting arguments and evidence that will support the thesis statement, and the conclusion should summarize the main points of the essay and reaffirm the thesis statement. One of the most important aspects of essay writing is the ability to effectively organize and structure the essay. This involves the use of transitional phrases and sentences that help to guide the reader through the essay and ensure that the ideas flow logically and coherently. Additionally, it is important to use a variety of sentence structures and to vary the length and complexity of the sentences to keep the essay interesting and engaging.Another important aspect of essay writing is the ability to use appropriate and effective language. This involves the use of precise and descriptive vocabulary, as well as the ability to use grammar and punctuation correctly. It is also important to be aware of the audience and to tailor the language and tone of the essay accordingly. One of the most challenging aspects of essay writing is the ability to conduct research and to incorporate relevant and credible sources into the essay. This involves the ability to find and evaluate sources, to take effective notes, and to properly cite and reference thesources used in the essay. It is also important to be able to critically analyze and synthesize the information from these sources to support the thesis statement and the overall argument of the essay. In addition to the technical aspects of essay writing, there are also a number of soft skills that are important for success in this area. These include the ability to think critically and analytically, the ability to communicate effectively, and the ability to work independently and to manage one's time effectively.Overall, essay writing is a complex and multifaceted skill that requires a combination of technical knowledge and soft skills. By developing and honing these skills, individuals can become more effective and successful writers, both in academic and professional settings. Whether it is writing a research paper, a persuasive essay, or a personal reflection, the ability to write effectively is a valuable and essential skill that can open up a world of opportunities.。
如:低年级可以采取听听做做stand up, point to…, Polly says “close your eye.”… What’s your name? How old are you? Where is the …? How many … can you see? What color is it? 等。
高年级可以读一些课外段落(生词注音标);高年级看图作简单描述或作出评论;根据所给题目、所给情景即兴会话,如talk about your family(适合高段,去年六年级口试时本人曾采用过,稍难,但因为平时上课就有即兴扩展性会话,学生能行)。
再如笔试评价题型要适合儿童心理,简单易懂且花样又多,如listen and match, listen and tick or cross, listen and number, listen and draw, look and match等。

As our world becomes increasingly interconnected, the ability to communicate in multiple languages has become an important skill. In your opinion, what are the advantages and disadvantages of being bilingual or multilingual? Use specific examples and details to support your answer.Being bilingual or multilingual certainly has its advantages. One of the most obvious benefits is the ability to communicate with a wider range of people. In today's globalized society, being able to speak more than one language can open up countless opportunities for travel, work, and social interaction. For example, a person who speaks both English and Mandarin may have an easier time doing business in China, or a person who speaks Spanish and English may be able to connect with a larger community in the United States.Additionally, being bilingual or multilingual can also have cognitive benefits. Studies have shown that individuals who speak multiple languages often have better problem-solving abilities, improved memory, and a greater capacity for multitasking. This is because the brain is constantly switchingbetween languages, which can strengthen its overall function. However, there are also some disadvantages to being bilingual or multilingual. For one, it can be challenging to maintain fluency in multiple languages, especially if one language is not used regularly. This can lead to a phenomenon known as language attrition, where a person starts to lose their proficiency in a language due to lack of practice.Furthermore, there may be instances where bilingual or multilingual individuals face discrimination or prejudice. In some cases, people may make assumptions about a person's intelligence or cultural background based on their accent or language proficiency. This can lead to feelings of alienation or exclusion, particularly in environments where there is a dominant language or culture. In conclusion, being bilingual or multilingual has clear advantages in terms of communication, cognitive abilities, and opportunities. However, there are also challenges such as maintaining fluency and facing potential discrimination. Overall, the benefits of being bilingual or multilingual far outweigh the drawbacks, and it is a valuable skill to possess in our increasingly globalized world.

Instead, you might want to try sitting back, relaxing and letting your mind wander. Yes, you heard that correctly. If you are in need of a new idea, try daydreaming.Researchers from the university of California, Santa Barbara, found an association between daydreaming and creative problem-solving. Their study includes having participants first do an “unusual-us e task”. They had to try to come up with as many different ways to use an object as they could. Then, the participants chose to do one of the following four things before doing the “unusual-use task” again: complete a difficult task; complete an easy task; take a 12-minute break; or skip the 12-minute break and move right on to the task exercise again.Surprisingly, the group that performed best was the one that completed the easy task. Many participants reported that they were daydreaming while performing the easy task. So the researchers believed that this daydreaming might have helped unlock their creativity. But how could daydreaming help the brain come up with creative ways? The answer is something known as “unconscious thought”. Even when you are not a ctively working to solve a problem, it is still in the back of your mind. Your brain is still thinking about the problem, but in a much more subtle (不易察觉的) way. When you daydream, your mind is allowed to think in ways it normally would not. Because it is free of control, it can create completely new and out-of-the-box ideas.Great ideas never come easily, but that does not mean you always have to work hard to get them. Feel free to do what you want and let your mind wander.1. The “unusual-use task” in Paragraph 2 means that participants ________.A. complete an easy taskB. complete a very difficult taskC. take a 12-minute breakD. think of various ways to use an object2. What does the underlined phrase “unconscious thought” in Paragraph 5 mean?A. Your brain wanders in a subtle way within your control.B. Your brain knows clearly what you’re thinking and doing.C. Your brain is thinking about a problem outside of your awareness.D. Your brain refuses to receive any information from the outside world.3. The passage mainly wants to tell us that ________.A. brainstorming is important to creative ideasB. daydreaming is a way to improve creativityC. problem-solving skills are important in our livesD. the more we exercise brains, the more ideas we’ll getBMore than a quarter of parents use a device to track or monitor their kids’ online activity, finds a survey from Common Sense Media and Survey Monkey. It’s far more than the percentage of teens (15%) who think their parents are tracking or monitoring what they do online. Whether all that snooping(调查)is effective seems unclear. Only 30% of teens who responded to the survey said their parents were “extremely” aware or “very” aware of what they do online. By comparison, 52% of parents believed they we re “very” aware of their kids’ web activity.“There’s a pretty big difference between parents who say they know and what kids say parents know,” said Michael Robb, director of research for Common Sense Media. The online survey was among a national sample of 884 teens and 3,282 parents of teens.Options for tracking kids’ online activities vary from tools for your router capable of tracking the websites users visit to apps letting you review your child’s smart phone call logs and text messages.Devorah Heitner, author of the book Screen Wise: Helping Kids Thrive (and Survive) In Their Digital World, suggests mentoring kids about best online practices instead of monitoring. If parents do choose to monitor, they should talk with their kids first. “You have to really ask yourself what you think you’re going to learn by monitoring your kid,” she said, “What’s your plan of action if you see something that concerns you?”Other findings from the survey: Snapchat is the app that causes the most anxiety for parents. The survey found 29% said the messaging apps make them most nervous, followed by Facebook at 16%. Teens don’t like Facebook as much as Snapchat or Instagram. More than three-quarters of teens said they use both messaging apps, but only 49% said they use Facebook, while 42% said they use Twitter.Robb said Common Sense Media plans to partner with Survey Monkey on future online polls because the pace of technology is so rapid. “These surveys will be a quicker way to take the pulse of parents and teens.”4. Which of the following is true according to the survey?A. Snapchat is the biggest worry for both parents and kids.B. Some parents choose to use apps to track their kids’ online activity.C. Twitter will cooperate with Facebook on future online polls.D. Kids are aware that over 25% of parents use a device to track their online activity.5. By mentioning “There’s a pretty big difference between parents who say they know and what kids say parents know” in Paragraph 2, the author intends to ________.A. inform that the snooping seems to be ineffectiveB. warn that the kids are being monitored by their parentsC. predict that more and more parents will monitor their kids’ online activitiesD. indicate that the number of parents tracking teens online is beyond the kids’ imagination6. Which of the following opinions will Devorah Heitner most probably agree with?A. Parents had better not monitor their kids’ online activities.B. Parents should communicate with their kids while monitoring their online activities.C. Parents need to ask their kids permission before guiding them about online activities.D. Parents must often reflect on their purpose of monitoring their kids’ online activities.7. What can be inferred from the passage?A. It is too young for kids to go online.B. Teens don’t like Facebook at all.C. Michael Robb is confident of the future online polls.D. Common Sense Media plans to partner with Survey Monkey in the future. Much of the work in today’s world is accomplished in teams. Most people be lieve the best way to build a great team is to gather a group of the most talented individuals. ____8____ Companies spend millions hiring top business people. Is their money well spent?____9____ They focused on football, basketball and baseball. The results are mixed. For football and basketball, adding talented players to a team proves a good method, but only up to the point where 70% of the players are top talent; above that level, the team’s performance begins to decline. Interestingly, this trend isn’t evident in baseball, where additional individual talent keeps improving the team’s performance. To explain this phenomenon, the researchers explored the degree to which a good performance by a team requires its members to coordinate(协调) their actions. ____10____ In baseball, the performance of individual players is less dependent on teammates. They conclude that when task interdependence is high, team performance will suffer when there is too much talent, while individual talent will have positive effects on team performance when task interdependence is lower. If a basketball star is, for example, trying to gain a high personal point total, he may take a shot himself when it would be better to pass the ball to a teammate, affecting the team’s performance. Y oung children learning to play team sports are often told, “There is no I in TEAM.” ____11____Another possibility is that when there is a lot of talent on a team, some players may make less effort. Just as in a game of tug-of-war(拔河比赛), whenever a person is added, everyone else pulls the rope with less force.____12____ An A-team may require a balance—not just A players, but a few generous B players as well.A. It’s not a simple matter to determine the nature of talent.B. Sports team owners spend millions of dollars attracting top talent.C. The group interaction and its effect drew the researchers’ attention.D. Stars apparently do not follow this basic principle of sportsmanship.E. Several recent studies examined the role of talent in the sports world.F. Building up a dream team is more complex than simply hiring the best talent.G. This task interdependence distinguishes baseball from football and basketball. October 31st, 2017 was not just another Halloween for me.
As a middle school student, I have many hobbies, such as playing basketball, reading books, and watching movies. However, my favorite hobby is playing video games.I have been playing video games since I was a child. My parents bought me a Game Boy when I was six years old, and I fell in love with it immediately. Since then, I have played many different video games on various consoles, such as PlayStation, Xbox, and Nintendo Switch.Playing video games is not only a fun activity, but it also helps me to relax and relieve stress. When I am playing a game, I can forget about my problems and focus on the game. It is like entering a different world where I can be whoever I want to be and do whatever I want to do.Moreover, playing video games also helps me to improvemy problem-solving skills and hand-eye coordination. Many games require you to think critically and make quick decisions, which can be beneficial in real-life situations. For example, when I am playing a racing game, I have toreact quickly to avoid obstacles and stay on the track. However, I also understand the importance of balance. I do not spend all my free time playing video games. I make sure to also spend time with my family and friends, exercise, and study. It is important to have a well-rounded life.In conclusion, playing video games is my favorite hobby. It is not only a fun activity, but it also helps me to relax, improve my skills, and escape from reality for alittle while. As long as I maintain a balance, I will continue to enjoy playing video games for many years to come.。
