As most of us know, talking and listening doesn’t go well every time. Will parents take you seriously, believe what you say, listen to and respect (尊重) your opinions, and hear you out without interrupting? Some parents are easy to talk to, but some are not. Here are some tips for you to talk with your parents. Be clear and direct. Be as clear as you can about what you think, feel, and want. Saying what you think, feel and want can help your parents understand your situation. They can listen better or be more helpful if they understand what you mean and what’s really going on. It is really difficult for children to do that well.If you say what you think, feel and want honestly, your parents will believe what you say. If you sometimes keep the truth from them, your parents will have a harder time believing what you tell them. If you lie, they’ll find it hard to believe in you.Try to understand their opinions. If you don’t ag ree with your parents, can you see their side? If you can, say so. Tell your parents you understand their opinions and feelings. This helps them understand yours, too.Try not to argue. Always use a way of speaking that’s friendly and respectful. This helps to make your parents listen to and take what you say seriously. They will talk to you in the same way. If you think your emotions (情绪) are too excited, do something helpful before talking: going for a run, drinking some water, or washing your face with cool water. Answer the questions: (12分)Andy loved the first grade. He loved his teacher, Mrs. Parks. He loved playing games on the playground.Every morning Andy’s mother dropped him off in front of his school on South Street. One foggy (有雾的) morning, the traffic was so bad on South Street that she decided to drop him off behind the school. Andy walked for about ten minutes and got to the gate. After Andy closed the gate behind him, he looked in the direction of the teaching building. But all he could see was fog. He got to the spot where the slide had always been, but it was not there.“The slide is gone!” he cried. He walked a little more to look for the swings (秋千), but they were not where they had always been.“The swings are gone!”he cried again.Andy kept walking. He was so anxious to see the school that he fell and landed on the ground. A terrible thought appeared in his head.“The school is gone!”he cried sadly. Suddenly the boy saw something up ahead.“It’s Jennie!”he shouted. Then he saw a school building. His school was still there!“Hi, Jennie!” he stood up.“I couldn’t see the school. I thought it was gone. What happened to the slide and th e swings?”Andy asked.“We will have new playground equipment today,” Jennie answered. “The old equipment was taken away last night.
