肖申克的救赎影评英文肖申克的救赎影评英文I think this movie is very meaningful. I like it very much. You must think so too. You must all have a lot to say. But according to what we have appointed, I’m the Chair, so please let me show you my opinion first. The story begins with the trial of a young banker, Andy Dufrense, victimized by circumstantial evidence, resulting in a conviction for the murder of his wife and her lover. After a quick conviction, Andy finds himself serving a life sentence at Shawshank prison, with no hope of parole. He exists in this prison only in appearance, keeping his mind free from the drab walls around him. His ability to do this results in the gaining of respect from his fellow inmates, but most of all from Ellis Redding. Ellis, commonly referred to as Red, finds gainful use of his entrepreneurial spirit within the drab walls of Shawshank by dealing in contraband and commodities rare to the confines of prison. Andy\'s demeanor and undeniable sense of hope causes Red to take a deeper look at himself, and the world around him. Andy proves to Red and the other inmates that in the conventional walls of Shawshank prison convention will find no home in his lifestyle. As far as I’m concer ned, this movie shows us three things: freedom, friendship, and hope. If we take a movie as a novel, then <Shawshank Redemption> is a great novel without doubt. It reflects the real social life, and creates several typical characters with Classic Quotes and a few kinds of modifications. This movie organizes the main scenario of the story in a simple way and at the same time using some petty lines. It expresses the subject ina very artistic way. There were three words, the first is freedom. However, what impressed me is nearly everyone in the prison got accustomed to the prison life. What’s more, an old man even suicide after he was set free. I have a very deep feeling of friendship. The second word accrued to me is friendship. Friendship is a necessary in our life. In this movie, the friendship between Andy and Red moved me. It gave me an idea: getting a real friendship is more important than money and power. Friendship is really important, and in my opinion, it is very hard to get a real friendship. When we don’t have a real friend, we will feel very lonely. I may have this feeling during these days. That is really incredibly hard. Also there are some sentences in the movie that really impressed me. The sentence I like most is “hope is a good thing, maybe th e best of things, and no good thing ever dies.” Because I think, it encourages people appreciate the beauty of life, to keep their hope in heart forever. “It was as if some beautiful birds had flapped into our drab little cage and made these walls dissolve away, and for the briefest of moments, every last man in Shawshank felt free.” From this sentence, I start to know that, in fact, something cannot be noticed at all. That is like the freedom of our heart. We need it, just like you have never forgotten it.Another one is: “Fear can hold you prisoner. Hope can set you free. A strong man can save himself. A great man can save another.” I like this sentence because it teaches me to let me full of courage and hopes. It urges me to have the determination to succeed. In the end, I want to use a sentence to summarize this movie: Fear can hold you prisoner. Hope can set you free.。
The Shawshank RedemptionWhen prison shows up in front you, which film firstly comes into your mind, Felon, Prison Break, Escape Plan, or maybe other Hollywood blockbusters? For me, The Shawshank Redemption is the one. As lots of people said, all of men have to watch this film, if don’t, they will definitely regret in their life. However, I can’t totally agree with this kind of opinion. Even though there is no leading actress in the film, it has nothing to with the audiences’ genders, because no matter what you are, as a flesh-and-blood human being, you can feel the passion and insistence of pursuing hope, freedom in this film, meanwhile, you also can realize how upset and pitiful an institutionalized person can be.It was the first year of my college life when I watched The Shawshank Redemption. I’ve watched it for more than five times until now, and each time I got different experience and feelings about this special artwork. At the first time, I just thought lots of people liked it, because so many friends around me were talking about it very often. Then I told myself maybe I should watch it in order to find some similarities with others. Although this film hadn’t had exciting fights and many world-known stars for me two years ago, it still made a deep impression on me and made meawfully moved. The most impressive person to me at that time, now he still is the one, of course, was Andy.Andy had to serve two life sentences for he murdered his wife and her lover, he tried to defend for himself because his was innocent, all of the evidence was against him, however. After having made up him mind to escape from the prison, Andy never gave up his “career”—to dig a tunnel with a tiny hammer. This was the primary virtue that I loved him so much. He would never speak empty words, that is, if he decided to do something, he would insist on no matter how many people lack faith in him, even laughed at him. Red, one of the old and important persons in the prison, said that it would take 600 years to excavate a route to the hope. Yet the truth was: Andy spent 20 years digging a tunnel to get to the outside world. Later, when I became a sophomore, I constantly watched The Shawshank Redemption around three times, and I got a deeper understanding of it. Lots of questions came to me -- Why did the court announce Andy guilt and put him in prison? Why did no officials discover that Andy laundered money for the warden, Norton? Why could Andy make a person who had been existed before he escaped from the Shawshank? These questions were seemly not easy to answer, but one word, flaws in the system, couldmake it.When Andy was sent to the Shawshank, he tried to keep himself from troubles as he didn’t speak a word of anything. He knew he was guiltless, but he still could do nothing to prove his innocence. Andy was put in prison which indicated that there were some flaws in the judicial system. Many years dragged by, Andy gradually showed his talent of banking, and he helped solve the tax problems of the guards and accumulate the filthy wealth for Norton, which implied that the tax evasion and corruption were very serious. More than twenty years of bitter life in the prison, Andy finally fled from the Shawshank and lived a brand new life in Zihuatanejo. Had the judgment not been erroneous, Andy probably would not have been sent to jail. Had the system been clear, Andy probably would not become Norton’s laundering machine. Had the system been complete, Andy probably would not live a peaceful life any more. The most important thing was: if the system was exactly unbroken, The Shawshank Redemption would never be a success. Therefore, I persuaded myself– it was a matter of human nature instead of the system, because any sound systems were manipulated by man. The manipulators have a profound impact on the system: they were in integrity, so were the system; the manipulators were corrupt, so the whole system would be same. The above views might not be correct, but I couldn’t think about it. Fortunately, Andy challenged the official guards several times to enjoy the freedom and hope in the darkness. He gave the chief prison guard advice on the tax problems at the risk of his life to require some beer for his coworkers. He persisted in writing letters to the state senate to ask for fund so as to reform and expand the library. He ventured to broadcast Mozart’s music all over the prison to remind his inmates of the freedom and hope. Let put this in another way, Andy challenged not only the guards but also the systems.Recently, I’ve watched this blockbuster again, and I learned one word, institutionalize, which has become a buzzword in my class. Red had serviced in the prison for several decades, he called himself an institutionalized man. He held a firm belief that he might be useful in the prison, because he could get things for the inmates, on the contrary, he would fail to make it on the outside world where people made great changes. Red had already lost his hope after having spent most of his life in the prison, and his belief was more intensified when the old Brooks committed suicide during his parole. It was the most essential point that made Red different from Andy who had hope to support himself after being abused by three of his inmates, keep himself alive during the punishment in thesolitary cell, and urge himself to make a way to the freedom. The old Red was an institutionalized man, so he had to report the manager when he wanted to pee during the work. Red had the exact same feelings—failed to adapt to the rapid changing world and lived in fear--- as Brooks during his parole. If he didn’t make promise to Andy, he would be dead somehow. After meeting his commitment, Red really started his new journey as Andy told Red “Hope is a good thing, and no good thing ever dies.” On his way to find Andy, Red finally pick up his hope --- he hoped he could make it across the border; he hoped to see Andy and shake his hands; he hoped the Pacific was as blue as it had been in his dreams. Andy and Red, two similar men almost had nothing in common in the Shawshank, they eventually alienated themselves from the darkness and appreciated the sunshine in Zihuatanejo. The reason why people become institutionalized is that they shut their hope and dreams in the bottom of their heart. Once they manage to retrieve their freedom, dream and hope, they will have no chance to be institutionalized. I don’t know how many people will be so peaceful and generous like Andy in the worst time. But I do believe that people who can tolerate and forgive things having hurt them before will understand the essence of life more precise thanthe ordinaries. It will be better for people to play their own roles in life rather than waste time, because “Get busy living or get busy dying” is the truth of life.

Hope, freedom and redemptionWhen I finished the Shawshank Redemption, I was profoundly moved and shocked. There are three words emerging in my mind: hope, freedom and redemption, which I think are the keynotes the movie attempts to convey transmit to the audiences. To be full of hopes and pursuit of freedom is a basic human right. But hope is a terrible thing for the prisoners of Shawshank. Red said,"These walls are kind of funny like that. First you hate them, then you get used to them. Enough time passed, get so you depend on them." This change, we have to say, is a gradual process of abandoning hope, and they feel much easier in Shawshank than outside, just like Brooks. Brooks is a tragedy. He has been used to the life in the Shawshank and he has given up both hope and freedom. When he paroles from prison, he cannot adapt to the society out of the jail, so he always feels worried and fearful. Actually, it is the freedom which he never hopes to get that makes him feel worried. He wants to get safety. He wants to prove his existence, but he hangs himself finally. He can't enjoy the freedom.Brooks fails in the hope and freedom. How about Red? In fact, Red has the same predicament as Brooks. Although he doesn't utterly lose the longing for freedom, but he doesn't really believe in the hope. He even thinks that hope is a dangerous thing. But for the help of Andy, he wouldn't have succeeded in the true freedom in the end. In contrast, Andy embodies the contrary mentality. The walls of Shawshank can't bondage his pursuit of hope and freedom. He said,"Hope is a good thing, maybe the best of things, and no good thing ever dies." He never gives uphope even in the jail.Virtually, because of the indestructible hope, he finally gets rid of the jail and obtains the freedom. He takes himself for example to prove that hope and freedom are terrific, and demonstrably he is right.Andy not only salvages himself, but also propagates hope to others. He strives beers for inmates, remolds the library of the jail, plays music of Italy, helps some prisoners who are serving short prison terms to learn and attain a high school diploma so that they can be more qualified after they released. All of these things are for the redemption of others who serve in Shawshank. With the hope, he gets down to redeeming others, just like Red. Suppose Andy himself gives up hope, gives up the pursuit of freedom, what will happen? I do believe that he can't save himself, let alone extending a hand to others’ salvation.Hope is incomparably splendid thing. By virtue of hope, we can pursue freedom, we can get redemption of ourselves and liberate others. Never let hope go, and carve it in mind,"Fear can hold you prisoner. Hope can set you free".。

肖申克的救赎-英文影评第一篇:肖申克的救赎-英文影评Hope is a good thing, maybe the best of things and no good thing ever dies!I can’t agree with it any more.In the film, the walls of the prison can bind people’s freedom. But they can not deprive people’s hope. The hero, Andy, never abandons the desire for freedom, and he keeps up working for his hope.Every night andy uses the little hammer to dig the wall that in others’ opinion, it will takes hundreds of years to dig through. He makes all preparations for leaving the prison. So he succeeds, and regains the precious freedom. It is hope that helps Andy get through painful prison life and regain the freedom. At the same time, hope saves his friend’s life too. There fore, in real life, no matter how difficult the situation is, we shouldn’t give up our hope.We should stick to work hard for the hope.In this way our life will not lose its significance. So please remember, Hope is a good thing, and no good thing ever dies!希望是美好的事物,也许是世上最美好的事物。
The Shawshank RedemptionThis is absolutely one of my famous movies, which occurred to me as soon as I tried to write an article about a movie. I first watched it when I was in high school. Andy’s experience moved me deeply that time, which inspired me to fight for my dream. After my unfortunate end of the final exam in high school, I watched this movie again, after watching I learned lessons from it. Because Andy always encourage me in my black time, I fancy this movie. The main idea of The Shawshank Redemption is hope and life. A man was the vice president of a large Portland bank, who had good work to a man so young. He was served two life sentences for murdering his wife and the fella she was banging. But he didn’t do these things at all. Then he came to a prison called Shawshank in 1974. At first, he was different form others, which attracted Red, who was his friend in the end. When he was in Shawshank, he experienced lots of things, including happiness and sorrows. He was fought by The sisters at first. He made efforts to build a library in the prison. He let them enjoy the music which give them the feelings of freedom, and so on. One day, he found the evident which can support he didn’t murdered his wife and her lover. But the bad wardens damaged this evident. In the period in Shawshank, he knew an old gentle man called Brooks. Brooks can’t fit the life outside, then he committed suicide after leaving off the prison. I can’t deny that people in Shawshank are absolutely different. After Andy felt hopeless in the prison, he chose to escape from the Shawshank Prison after 20 years. “Get busy living, or get busy dying.”, Andy said to Red. So he had no choice but escape. I don’t know the minute they found Andy had made a way to the outside with a hammer, while Red thought it must take a man 600 years to tunnel through a wall just with a hammer, then how they felt? After his escape, people who knew him best talk about him often. His story always pulled stuff. And Red thought that “Some birds aren’t meant to be caged, because their feathers are just too bright. And when they fly away, the part of you that knows it was a sin to lock them up dose rejoice. But still the place you live is that much more drab and empty that they are gone.” I hold that Andy is a beautiful bird both in outside world and the Shawshank Prison. Finally, Red ot off the prison, and he came to aisland named Zihuatanejo in Mexico. Because Andy came there for this little place has no memory.I gave a general introduction about this movie. In my opinion, the reason why they treat Andy’s escape redemption is that he live a new life with hope in his mind. He is so wisdom in others’ eyes. However, I love him just because he knew what is his most important things in life. Others think hope is disappeared in a prison, so they can’t get off there. Andy is a bird, so he doesn’t belong to the prison, on the contrary, he belongs to the sky. Although in the prison, he never forget his hope. And under no circumstance should we give up the pursuit of hope, even in the prison of life.So when I feel disappointed in my life, I watch this movie. I just want to encourage myself to keep mind to do things I believe. The main idea of this movie is so great for people who is finding his way of life. Also, the skills of the actors are wonderful too. You can be moved by their performance, I convince strongly. Besides, the music of the movie can show the excellent skill of the director of this movie. Meanwhile, to a movie, the colors is of great significance. At beginning, the colors of the movie make me feel depressed. After the escape, I find it is full of the color of sunlight in the movie. There are also so many beautiful lines in the movie that will influence you. For instance, “get busy living, or get busy dying.”. I hold that this movie is absolutely a success among thousands of movies.I always think of the most important things in life. Money, time, love, or hope? The answer is hope, I think. Because without hope, we can’t feel love; can’t make money; can’t relies the meanings of time. So just hold your dream, every one can be a bird with bright feathers in the sky, although you are in the Shawshank Prison now.Hope make redemption.Get busy living, or get busy dying.。
The most impressive person to me at that time, now he still is the one, of course, was Andy.Andy had to serve two life sentences for he murdered his wife and her lover, he tried to defend for himself because his was innocent, allof the evidence was against him, however. After having made up him mind to escape from the prison, Andy never gave up his―career‖—to dig a tunnel with a tiny hammer. More than twenty years of bitter life in the prison, Andy finally fled from the Shawshank andlived a brand new life in Zihuatanejo. The manipulators have a profound impact on the system: they were inintegrity, so were the system; the manipulators were corrupt, so the whole system would be same. Let put this in another way, Andy challenged not only the guards but also the systems.Recently, I’ve watche d this blockbuster again, and I learned one word, institutionalize, which has become a buzzword in my class. Red had serviced in the prison for several decades, he called himself an institutionalized man. He held a firm belief that he might be useful in the prison, because he could get things for the inmates, on the contrary, he would fail to make it on the outside world where people made great changes. Red had already lost his hope after having spent most of hislife in the prison, and his belief was more intensified when the old Brooks committed suicide during his parole. After meeting his commitment, Red really started his new journey as Andy told Red ―Hope is a good thing, and no good thing ever dies.‖ On his w ay to find Andy, Red finally pick up his hope --- he hoped he could make it across the border; he hoped to see Andy and shake his hands; he hoped the Pacific was as blue as it had been in his dreams. It will be better for people to play their own roles in life rather than waste time, because ―Get busy living or get busy dying‖ is the truth of life.Andy Dufresne,他的智慧战胜了漏洞百出的制度;他的理性战胜了野蛮狂暴的本能;他的意志战胜了冷酷无情的时间;他战胜了肖申克的石墙;他战胜了他自己;他战胜了一切。
