牛津英语新教材八年级上册 Unit 8
单元整体教学目标：本单元介绍了自然灾害的常见类型，以及遇到自然灾害时的防范措施。单元由Hobo家遭遇大雨引入自然灾害的话题，介绍了人们生活中常见的灾害类型，以及如何防止自然灾害和在发生自然灾害后的逃生措施。要求学生根据自己的所见所闻来写一篇关于自然灾害的文章。通过学习，学生要使用一定的阅读策略进行文本解读，获取关于一个地震幸存者的故事信息；重点掌握过去进行时的基本结构、基本用法，理解并运用”when, while, as”，并能在语境中正确运用。通过了解自然灾害的危害性，来引起学生思考这些灾害产生的原因和导致的后果，从而激发学生保护大自然以及在灾害怎样保护自己的积极意识。

说明：激发学生对本单元的学习兴趣，激活他们已有的知识，结合卡通漫画、设计更多的情境，帮助学生初步了解现在完成时的意义和大致结构。
Reading 1 1. know about an earthquake;
2. learn the ways and methods of telling a whole story according the order of time
说明：通过skimming策略指导学生抓住采访的问题把握中心，通过多种形式的阅读活动帮助学生获取信息、猜测词义、比较判断。
Reading 2 1. know more about an earthquake;;
2. learn to use some language points correctly;
3. use the words and expressions they have learnt in the reading to talk about the an earthquake or other natural disasters;.
说明：在熟悉课文内容的基础上掌握并运用本课中的语言知识。但不是孤立地传授语言知识，而是设计小语境，在用中学，最终达到巩固语言、运用语言的目的。
Grammar 1. learn to use the basic structure of past continuous tense;
2. use the past continuous tense correctly in certain situations;
3. understand and use the ”when, while, as” correctly.
说明：过去进行时的难点是根据其用法正确判断，学生尤其易把它和一般过去时混淆在一起。教学中先设计语境，让学生有充分的时间理解其三种用法，而不是单纯、机械地掌握时间状语，防止在无时间状语提示的前提下不能正确理解语意加以正确判断。教学要循序渐进，更多关注学生的反应调整教学。 Integrated skills 1. get the information about “Away from danger” by listening to the tape;
2. make notes and complete the form according to the information;
3. talk about keeping away from danger and what to do first to deal with some accidents.
说明：在听前、听中、听后三阶段引导学生正确使用听力策略，激发学生积极参与听说活动，学会合作，学会倾听，学会分享。以学生生成的对话为新的听力材料进行更多的听力训练。
Study skills 1. understand how to put two words together to create new words;
2. learn to how to remember words well in this way.
说明：这是在单词学习中也是很常见的一种构词法，也很实用，可以帮助学生进行词汇归纳和对比，增加词汇量。
Task 1. learn to describe a natural disaster ；
2. learn to write a short story according to the order of time；
3. protect our nature as our duty.
说明：这是本单元的终极目标。教学重点是分析范文的结构，不过多地分析文章的内容和细节，课堂留给学生充分的时间独立写作、互评和教师评价。评价要多方面，鼓励为主，主要看学生时态的正确使用情况，对学生的好词、好句要进行全班赏析。
