REPORTThe economy in East Timor is backward, and the natural environment is bad, so we designed a simple community to improve the quality of life in East Timor. The road construction in East TimorBecause Timor Leste is located on the Pacific seismic belt, plate movement is so frequent that this area occurs stronger earthquake and tsunami easily. Natural disasters like mudslide and flood happen frequently, so our group decided to choose stone matrix asphalt (SMA) and gravels as the materials of the road construction. SMA is regarded as the asphalt mixture which is strong against deformation and has good durability in the international society. On account of ability of coarse aggregate that it inlays and crushes well, this mixture has a very good ability against track under the environment of high temperature. In the meantime because of the cementing action of Stone Matrix Asphalt, it causes the result that deformation performance under low temperature and water stability become better, Adding fiber stabilizer makes asphalt matrix keep high viscosity so that it has a good compaction effect and a good paving effect. Besides, gap grading forming macropore on the surface causes deep in the structure of the anti-sliding performance is good. Meanwhile the void of this kind of mixture is small, so agingresistance and durability is very good. Thus, it improves the road property of this kind of asphalt mixture entirely. SMA has significant role in the fight against these natural disasters. Although the funding is large at the start, but if the natural disasters happen, such road may reduce the loss at a low level. It reduces the degression greatly, and we don’t need to input money to rebuild a new road.Domestic waste treatment scheme (Brief is regarded as the principle of domestic waste treatment) Daily domestic waste is mainly including kitchen garbage, faeces and unrecyclable garbage.·Kitchen garbage and recyclable. Employ the local people tocollect kitchen garbage and unrecyclable garbage together, and then divide them into two parts. The kitchen garbage canconsider shallow buried nearby, and the place to burry it maybe changeable. Moreover, the unrecyclable such as battery, plastics all kinds of electrical waste and so on should beDedicated to the inland areas and buried deeply.·Unrecyclable garbage. Because the local common people havelow educational level and their lives are relatively primitive,we are determined to focus toilet construction. In addition, each the unit of the house in the new community will not beconfigurated toilets any more. We will gather feces to fertilizethe soil.Water storageOn account of East Timor is located on the transfer place between Southeast Asian wet climate zone and the Australian mainland dry climate zone, the rainy season is very short. By Indonesian national average standards, it is fairly dry. Therefore, it is short of water resources, and we prepared to establish a set of the rain water collecting system including water gathering ground, water delivery and storage system. The first year’s Dec to the second year’s Mar is the rainy season, and Apr to Nov is the dry season. Therefore, we decide to divide rain collecting into three parts.·The first part is watershed cant. The solutions of bevel are multiple. Thinking of the economic condition and bevel service condition, our group prepares to adopt this bevel whose rocks are uncovering. Because it is cheaper and more durable, its collection of water rate is higher than natural surface and the rocks may use local materials, which make cost performance low as far as possible.·The second part is setting pond. We adopt traditional way of physical filtration, and we use sand, coarse sand and pebbles asfilter layer to filtrate.·The third part is pit. There are various pits. We decide to use thebrick arch cellar. Deep pit depth of 5.7 ~ 6.2 m, the cellar 4.0 ~ 4.5, dry pit depth of 1.7 m, the bottom diameter of 3 m, 4 m in diameter, diameter 0.8 m, the cellar mouth 0.25 m high. There are many characteristics: The used concrete is low; Tabia and bricks can use local materials; The difficulty of construction is low. Personally speaking, it could spread popularization widely. The cost of such a pit is about 8000 Yuan. It could provide 5 individuals 2-month domestic water. Each water collecting system could be equipped with many pits, so it may reduce the pressure of household-water consumption. The most of expense comes from the construction of pits. Thecost of one pit is 800 Yuan or so. Compared with building waterworks and wells, the advantage of cost is obvious. We can teach local people the simple making method, and make them extend the way of catchment water storage. If pits were enough, even meet every resident’s the need of water in dry season. This way and all parameters are from the water retention of technical water supply catchment in arid area, editor did many surveys and experiments in the loess plateau region to confirm the reality of parameters. The writer said water storage process is a water self-purification process, and water self- purification process is a biological treatment process. There is a layer of brownness flocculent mud pellet, called Activated sludge. It contains many kinds of aerobes and protozoa, and possesses fortissimo Adsorption and oxidation decomposition capability. Furthermore, the way of such water storage have existed for thousands of years in the loess plateau region, which makes the safety of potable water get proved.School construction plan (Including the kindergarten) Considering the various environmental factors in East Timor, our group decided to design a pile dwelling type house. Such wooden house generally is made up of timber, logs and wood. Its lower chassis is composed of beams above the ground and chassis adopts themethod of piling. After pile wood into, shelf beams, spread sheet again. Then in the wood pillar structure frame and roof, forming building houses built on stilts, walls made of clay porous bricks or hollow brick. Besides, we suggest building a wall with calcareous clay tile and low eaves around the school against typhoon. There are many merits, for example, pile dwelling type house has good ventilation performance and humidity resistance, and below the house people could feed poultry and livestock.Clay sintered porous bricks and hollow bricks with clay are as the main raw material. Firing these bricks need get through Mining, mixing materials, molding and drying. It has good heat preservation and heat insulation, energy saving, load bearing, maintenance function, high strength, low price and the decorative beauty, is mainly used in building wall, outside wall, etc.House typeBecause of geographical location, environmental climate ,fund an d so on .After overall consideration ,we can design the house that is c onstructed by bamboo and wood. Mean annual humidity is 70%-80 %, therefore, the building needs to be damp proof. From December t o February and May to June, its rainy season. Annual precipitation is 1500 to 1600 millimeters. In addition ,middle mountainous area prec ipitation is 2500 to 3000 millimeters, so the build needs to prevent wa ter logging. Because the Timor is located in Pacific rim volcano and s eismic belt, the building needs to be quakeproof. Located in Southeas t Asia ,the Timor is affected by tropical monsoons. The building needs to be against typhoon. Located in the equator area, it’s scorching he at and moist, so the illness is frequent. There are diarrhea, hepatitis A, typhoid fever, dengue and malaria, worm is primary spread medi um, and the build needs to prevent from the worm. How do we reduce the construction expenditure? Lower funding mainly from following points:·The construction materials is mainly from timber in therainforest. It is convenient for local people to get materials.·Local environment is mountainous, which is convenient forworkers to exploit stones.·The use of cement and clay brick is few, which greatly reducesthe cost. What about the arrangement of buildings? Our group decides to regard the community center as the central church ground. Then, Residential area centered on the church square radiated distribution.。
