语法详解
过去进行时(2)
1. 过去进行时和when, while, as引导的过去时间状语从句连用，形成复合句。
常见结构如下：
引导词 常见结构
when Sb. was/were doing sth. when sb. did sth.； When sb. was/were doing sth., sb. did sth.
while While sb. was/were doing sth., sb. did sth.; Sb. was/were doing sth. while sb. was/were doing sth.
as As sb. was/were doing sth., sb. did sth.
2. when和while引导的时间状语从句的区别：
(1)在when引导的时间状语从句中，谓语动词可以用延续性动词也可以用短暂性动词。如：
◇They arrived when we were having dinner.
◇We were talking when the teacher came in.
(2)在while引导的时间状语从句中，谓语动词只能用延续性动词。此时，while与when通用。如：
They arrived while/when we were having dinner.
(3)主句(进行时)＋when＋从句(短暂性动词)：强调从句动作的突发性。如：
We were talking when the teacher came in. (强调老师突然进来了)
(4)主句(进行时)＋while＋从句(进行时)：表示两个动作同时发生。如：
They were singing while we were dancing.

I have two daughters. Boo is 10 years old. Seven is younger than Boo and she is only 3 years old.
It happened in the morning and I was at home with my children. Suddenly, Boo shouted that her little sister was choking(窒息)．
