Specify the "ha" and "hastat" parameter-value instead.- An online operation is performed on an owner path, a non-owner path's status may change to Offline(E). After performing an online operation on an owner path, use the HDLM command to make sure that the non-owner path's status is Online. If the non-owner path's status is Offline(E), change the status of HAM pairs to PAIR, and then perform an online operation on the Offline(E) path again.- When you set up a HAM pair to be managed by HDLM, make sure that the host recognizes paths to the MCU (Primary VOL) and RCU (Secondary VOL) after the HAM pair is created.Execute the dlnkmgr view -lu -item hastat operation. If ha is not displayed in the HaStat column, then the corresponding LU is not recognized as being in a HAM configuration. If the host recognizes the paths to the MCU and RCU before the HAM pair iscreated, restart the host after the HAM pair is created.- If you release a HAM pair to recover the system after a HAM volume failure, do not restart a host that is connected to the MCU and RCU while the HAM pair is released. If you need to restart the host while the HAM pair is released, disconnect allpaths to the MCU and RCU, restart the host, re-create the HAM pair, and then reconnect the paths. If you restart a host that is connected to the MCU and RCU while the HAM pair is released, the RCU volume will be recognized as a volume other than an MCUvolume. If this occurs, restart the host after the HAM pair is re-created.Execute the dlnkmgr view -lu -item hastat operation, and then confirm that ha is displayed in the HaStat column.DocumentationAvailable documentsDocumentation errataNone.Appendix AHost Bus Adapter (HBA) Support MatrixUse the SCSI I/F adapter or Fibre Channel I/F adapters listed below. When using two or more adapters, use the same type of adapter. If you combine different types of HBA, HDLM may not be able to switch a path when an error occurs. The combination of HBA which can exist together is as follows.- FC5716, FC1977 and FC1957- FC5758 and FC1905- FC5759 and FC1910(*1): HBA hot swap is not supported for this HBA because this HBA is not asupported hot plug.Copyrights and licenses© 2016, Hitachi, Ltd. D A T A S HE E THitachi Data SystemsHitachi Dynamic Link Manager Advanced software offers robust multipath SAN connections between servers and storage systems with fault tolerant failover, failback and load balancing, as well as integrated path management for improved information access and availability.Hitachi Dynamic Link Manager Advanced SoftwareHitachi Dynamic Link Manager Advanced — Data Path Protection and Unified Management for Enhanced Performance and Nonstop AvailabilityIn today’s information driven business envi-ronment, 24/7 data access and availability is a must. Well planned business continuity strategies must include the ability to protect data as it travels from the server to the storage system. This is a difficult challenge, as data paths can become congested — resulting in bottlenecks — or fail entirely, cutting off access to key information.Hitachi Dynamic Link Manager Advanced software provides comprehensive path failover and failback to ensure higher data availability and accessibility. Automatic load balancing helps to maintain outstanding system performance by balancing workloads across all available paths. If one path were to fail, Hitachi Dynamic Link Manager Advanced would automatically switch the I/O to an alternate path, helping to ensure that an active route to your data is always available. For organizations overwhelmed by the dif-ficulties of managing multiple storage paths integrated storage path management and reporting to increase administrator efficiencies and minimize configuration errors. Adminis-trators can optimize application performance by controlling path bandwidth — and keep applications online to perform maintenance tasks that typically require taking a path down by easily switching to and from alternate paths. Automatic path health checks and reporting from each host improve system reliability, reduce downtime and aid in rapid problem troubleshooting.BenefitsProtect Data AvailabilityReduces the risk of financial loss due to ■■failures of critical applications via path failover Achieves a higher level of data availability ■■through automatic failover and failback Keeps applications online while performing ■■maintenance that requires taking a path down Adds value to existing path-failover products■■Optimize System PerformanceImproves system performance by taking ■■all storage I/O requests and splitting the workload across available pathsMonitors the status of online paths through ■■a health check facility at administrator-specified intervals and places a failed path offline when an error is detectedBusiness SolutionsHitachi Data Systems and its HitachiTrueNorth Channel Partners offer industry leading technology to help organizations of all sizes meet their unique requirements for business continuity, regulatory compli-ance and data recovery.
