比如把governess(女总督)变成governessship(女总督职务),就出现了三个相同字母连续出现的情景了。
abstemious(有节制的)却是一个。
在平时用的单词中最长是antidisestablishmentarianism(赞同国家对教会的支持),由28个字母组成。
在固有的单词中,不含重复字母最长单词是uncopyrightable(不能获得版权保护的),共十五个字母。
The quick brown fox jumps over the lazy dog.(一只敏捷、棕色的狐狸跳过一只懒惰的狗)。
1.It’s okay.
2.Not bad.
3.sort of.
4.Not so hot.
5.Just as usual.
It's chilly today. chilly
I'm frozen. frozen
The wind really chills me to the bone.
The wind just cuts right through you. cut

(1)I'm all fingers and thumbs this morning. I don't seem to be able to button up my shirt.
(2)He was so excited that his fingers were all thumbs and he dropped the teacup.
3. middle finger :
4. ring finger:
5. little finger:

Sunday,the day of the Sun,“太阳日".
Monday,the day of the Moon,从Moonday发展至现在的Monday,“月亮日”.
Woden
To eat one's words is to retract what one has said, especially in a humiliated way.
They predicted his failure, but he made them eat their words.
我们可以用go back on one's word/promise,注意这里用的是单数形式。
比如:Going back on your promise makes you a liar.
生活当中,作判断要小心谨慎,以免eat your words;而许下诺言则要努力恪守,以免go back on your word。
It means “to be lying somewhere or not to be used。
There is a pen kicking around on my desk somewhere. You can use it as you wish.
e.g. There are a load of expensive clothes kicking around atthe corner of my room. I want to send them to my relatives.
同时也可以表示“照看”,请看一个电影中的原对话-Can you watch my bag? I gotta use the washroom.-你能帮我看下包吗?
Dist.
在英国[表情]经常会有人说“I am going to spend a penny”意思不是我要去花一便士或者去商店哦。

比如把governess(女总督)变成governessship(女总督职务),就出现了三个相同字母连续出现的情景了。
abstemious(有节制的)却是一个。
在平时用的单词中最长是antidisestablishmentarianism(赞同国家对教会的支持),由28个字母组成。
在固有的单词中,不含重复字母最长单词是uncopyrightable(不能获得版权保护的),共十五个字母。
The quick brown fox jumps over the lazy dog.(一只敏捷、棕色的狐狸跳过一只懒惰的狗)。
Able was I ere I saw Elba(在我看到Elba岛之前,我曾所向无敌)。
