Full conversion
The conversion from one part of speech to another part of speech without changing the form. E.g. water (n.) ---- water (v.) Since the words that are made do not change in morphological structure but in function, this process is also known as functional shift.
Catch: Her husband was a good catch ( that which is caught). They say he’s got a fortune in the bank. Find: an important archaeological find: ( that which is found.)
e. Tool or instrument to do the action with
cover: put the cover ( something with which to cover things) on the kettle and the water will boil.
Wrap: The word “wrap”( a garment or piece of material which is used as a covering) as a noun is usually used in the plural form. It means “shawl(s)披肩 rug(s)地毯 披肩, 地毯, 披肩 地毯 coat(s), cloak(s)斗篷 neckerchief(s)颈巾 斗篷, 颈巾, 斗篷 颈巾 etc. E.g. use of transparent film as a wrap ( material for covering or packing something).
